Which consists of a large dresser and a matching chest of drawers. The ... moreset is crafted from an unusual color of wood, which I think might be Pecan as it is lighter in color than most other woods and has a fine grain, somewhat similar to Walnut. The dresser has 8 full size drawers and three smaller drawers on the top. The middle drawer has only a key hole to open it while the others have matching drawer pulls. The drawers all feature dovetailed woodworking. The chest of drawers has 6 full size drawers with the top drawer featuring a lock(the key is included and taped inside of the top drawer and visible in one of the pictures) I'm uncertain if the one key works on both locks but I think they would as the key isn't a complicated design. Both pieces of furniture have glass tops that are in good shape. Both pieces feature designs created on the top by using different colored woods and grain patterns, giving a nice break from the solid color that the main furniture body has. The dresser's top left drawer features the Baker metal logo plaque on the inside. The furniture is in very nice shape but there are a few scratches and scuffs that need pointed out. There is a small square piece of veneer(about 1 inch square) that is missing along the bottom edge of the dresser, a little to the right of center. There are also a deeper scratch on the bottom right leg of the dresser and bottom left leg of the chest of drawers. These are shown in the photos. The furniture would benefit from a good cleaning and possible waxing.I'm not certain what type of cleaning or maintenance would be appropriate. Please look carefully at the photos to get a better idea of the true condition this nice old set is still in.I would guess this dates back to the 60s or early 70s. This is a 1930-1940 Art Deco bedroom set that I recently acquired. It consist of the dresser and mirror(vaneer on back side of mirror is peeling- see picture& mirror glass itself just needs a cleaning) Bureau, full size head board and foot board. It does have bed side rails but the vaneer is peeled badly so I did not bother taking a photo.They fit perfectly with the head& foot boards and I assume any bedding would cover these rails or you can peel off the remaining vaneer and paint them.All of these pieces are on small casters/wheels. This is a really nice bedroom set for sale. It's all solid wood with dovetail joints on the drawers. It includes a full size bed frame with head board. Foot board, hardwood side rails and slats, a tall four drawer chest and a vanity with mirror. The bed frame is approximately 36 inches tall, 56 inches wide and 80 inches long. The chest has four drawers and is approximately 48 inches tall, 17 inches deep and 32 inches wide. The dresser/vanity is 36 inches tall, 17 inches deep and 44 inches wide. The mirror is aproximately 32 inches wide by 34 inches tall. It has a medium brown wood finish(I believe walnut) that goes with any decor. The photograph of headboard and footboard has another footboard in between them that belongs to my bed that I'm using. I just didn't move it out of the way. Offered is a Vintage/Antique Bedroom Set that consists of: Double Head Board and Foot Board. Tall Chest, Dresser and Mirror. These pieces were sold by The Adams Furniture Company LTD, Toronto. This company was in operation in the late 1800's and the last information I can find on them is a catalog from 1910 and an article written in 1912. So the age of this bedroom set cannot be accurately determined. The story is that the Canadian man who owned this set, bought it sometime in the 1940's from a doctor in Canada when he got married. There is no way to tell how long the doctor owned this set before he or she sold it. The bedroom set is in pretty good shape considering age and is very functional. If one desired. It could stand to be refinished or left in it's original state for the character. I took many pictures so you could get ... morea good idea of condition. The company information I could find stated much of the furniture was crafted out of oak and finished in golden or Early English colors. I am not sure what this finish is or if they crafted out of mahogany as other products were offered. The bed is equipped to handle a double mattress. However their are no mattress slats with this piece. A regular double metal mattress frame fits inside the opening just fine. The measurements are as follows: Head board approximately 57" wide, head board posts 50" tall, foot board posts 44" tall. Dresser approximately 45" wide, 20 1/2" deep and 35" tall. Tall Chest approximately 53" tall, 19 1/2" deep and 33 1/2" wide. Mirror approximately 47" bottom to top of finial and 23" wide. Pieces are very sturdy and heavy. There are 2 drawer pulls missing. Included in this set is a full size bed with headboard and footboard and sideboards and slats; a vanity with mirror and 2 drawers on each side and a glass shelf(intact) 3(deep) drawer dresser with mirror; large armoire with 4 drawers and a cedar-lined closet section. And 2 chairs- one with arms and one without. This is a solid and beautiful set purchased in the 30's by my grandparents. This set has been used and shows signs of normal use and wear. Main items to note: there are some scratches on the tops of the pieces. ANTIQUE BEDROOM SET 1926 SEASHELL PATTERN BARKER BROTHERS OF LOS ANGELES This bedroom set has been in our family since 1926 when my mother and her adoptive parents arrived in Los Angeles. They were fleeing the law who wanted to take my mother away and nullify her adoption and give her to another relative. An Ohio State Representative and his wife, to raise along with her sister they already had adopted. Grandma and Grandpa slept on these beds in separate bedrooms. They became mine when my Grandma died. I used one to sleep in and refinished that back in the 1970’s. When mom and dad came to live with us we put these beds up for them but they were too big for the bedroom in our small cottage. Also. The little poodle doggie we adopted for them was chewing on the footboards newels. I could not tolerate that so I took them down. The set does need ... morerefinishing and the newels need sanded and stained. It will look good when redone. The one bed I did is pictured leaning up against the old barn. They have been stored in a brand new storage shed and before that under our bed in the bedroom. Notice the wooden wheels are still on the dresser on all four feet. I have the original side boards but had new cross boards made. It would be a nice addition to an old hotel being refinished to its original condition. Or, in a bed and breakfast home. They need to be taken good care of and appreciated and not abused. I am not sure of what style to call them. I don't know if they are Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, Hollywood Revival or what else to call them. They were purchased in Hollywood at the Barker Brother's Store there. At that time that was a big furniture store in L.A. They were famous for their mattresses. My Grandpa Reynolds worked for Barker Brothers in the mattress making department. It is hard to believe that very soon they will be 100 years old. That makes them 86 years old now. They do need lots of tender loving care. The Hollywood vanity table has a mirror and 7 drawers and is a welcome addition to any home and can be used a traditional vanity or a desk. Lastly, there is a vanity bench and a chair. There will be antique distressing here and there that adds antique depth and character. Original mirror glass has lost some silvering in spots and adds to the authentic antique look. The set is in very good condition. Clean, the hardware is original, original finish.The set has dustproof partitions. Drawers are dovetailed with oak contruction- a favorite of old cabinetmakers. Beautiful two tone walnut wood and burled walnut veneers and decorations- a sign of quality. Dates back to circa 1920s.
