Cast Iron Twin Size Bed chic & shabby Gr8 shape Straight Antique original paint
This bed has been the property of a single family for many generations. It is quite the amazing piece as even the white paint is all original to the date of manufacture. There is one noticeable bend in the thin iron of the foot-board. As you can see in the photos. I am positive that it would take no more than a strong arm to bend it back into shape. I can't find any more defects on the piece. But it is being sold as-is with no warranty due sole to the age of the bed. This is an antique cast iron bed. It has a little rust but still extremely solid. It measures 43 inches by 6 feet and is 56 1/2 inches tall. It probably weighs over 100 pounds. It's painted black; not sure how long that paint has been on. But there are some rusted spots over the paint so it's been on for quite a while, if not original. The rails slip into the end board pieces and it's very easy to put together. It may take a few taps with a hammer to get it in all the way. One of the sides has a small chunk out of the piece that the rail slips into, but once it's in there, it stays in place. It would be an easy repair. After it was no longer needed it was put in our storage barn and has been in a covered location for the past many years. It has developed some rust and would need to be at least partially redone to restore its beauty. The brass toppers would still polish up real nice but would most likely need to be replaced as they do develop splits after a time as a few of these have done.
