Empire Burl Walnut Italian Bedroom Set 7 Pc Marble Top
This is one of two Italian sets we have from this period and this is the claw foot one and most desirable. The two single beds are already aligned to make a king or queen size bed by attaching the two singles at mid point as my Father did on these sets. Bed back is about 57 and 1/2 inches tall and foot 35 inches Tall width each 35 and 1/2 inches which makes them 71 + when put together. Highest point in set would be Armoir at about 7 feet 2 inches. The condition is very good for this time period and has the normal scuffs and wear of use and shines up like a jewel when polished regular. I would replace the older hardware with something more modern but traditional. Burl tends to cave in with age in the knot area which separates the wood. Most people do not touch this or fill it in but leave it with it's natural aging. This wonderful wood with veneer 5 pc Tiger Maple Bedroom Suite from the 1920's is beautiful and unique. In the 1920's a lot of veneer was used as solid wood was really expensive. The set includes the full size bed with a headboard/footboard and side rails. 2 tall night stands, a high-boy chest of drawers, and a short vanity with mirror. This set was purchased at Morris Antiques in Keo, AR a few years ago. Welcome to Beachdude. Inc. This auction features a six-piece bedroom set of“Lillian Russell” style solid American black walnut furniture made by Davis Cabinet Company of Nashville. Tennessee. There is a VERY achievable, reasonable reserve on this set(lower than anything else listed at this time) Feel free to inquire. As shown. The ORIGINAL FINISH, EXCELLENT-CONDITION set consists of a matched pair of single beds, a nightstand, highboy dresser, side-by-side chest dresser, and a matched mirror. The headboards of the beds are approximately 46” high at the highest point and(like the footboards) are 42” wide(beds include original siderails, of course) Nightstand measures just over 22” wide by about 16¼” deep, with a height of nearly 31” The highboy dresser is 38” wide and about 20” deep; height of 46” The double-wide dresser measures 60” ... moreacross, 21½” deep and about 41” high. Finally, the mirror over the double-wide dresser measures 39” high by 56” wide. The overall piece is 1½” thick” and is in flawless condition without any odd spots, fogging, breaks, chips or cracks. It’s heavy, as are all of these pieces– framed mirror is nearly 110 pounds and the double-wide dresser is about 250 pounds. To say that this furniture is well-built is the equivalent of remarking that the Empire State Building is in New York City– it’s all obvious. There is an original little booklet that comes with the furniture(please see photos) Detailing the craftsmanship. What meets the eye is that it’s an impossible“find” in new furniture; being made of heavy old black walnut from the U.S. As shown, all of the drawers feature painstaking detail in the dovetail-joined craftsmanship. Up for auction: 1 vintage bedroom set which includes the following pieces: Night stand-Chest of drawers(5 drawers) Dresser w/ mirror(9 drawer) Full size bed(mattress and box springs included) NOTE: I am not sure of the exact age of this set. Nor am I an expert on assessing the style. If someone can help date it. Or further identify it, please send me a note! Otherwise, please review the pics and make your own judgment. This bedroom set was purchased new by my grandparent’s sometime post WWII. I am not a furniture expert. But have been advised this set may be late 40’s to early 50’s. There are no obvious manufacturer marks. I would rate the set conservatively as“good” over all. This auction is for this Absolutely Incredible Art Deco Bedroom Set- this 7 pc group includes the bed with headboard and footboard. Vanity with mirror, dresser with mirror and 2 stools. I'm saying 7 pcs because the night stands that are attached to the headboard could be separated and used differently. This amazing set is quite unusual to say the least and from what we can determine- quite rare. The only other example that we could find like it was just the vanity with small stool that was sold at auction in Houston for $2500. They referred to it as"OCEAN LINER" and we've been told it has similar appearance to some of the stateroom furniture on the Queen Mary. I will say this is some the most well made bedroom furniture I've ever seen- VERY HEAVY- made with flame maple, oak and bleached mahogany.with this dazzling blue ... moreglass trim around the mirrors- it looks like it should be at sea OR possibly near the sea! There are NO makers/manufactures marks anywhere that we could find. We believe this is from the 1920's based on the type of electrical cord that was used. Each one of the 4"night stands" have lights mounted inside- although they all need to be re-wired. They all have there original mirrored glass that slides into each one of the stands. These night stands mount/attach to either the large vanity& mirror or to the headboard. The measurements are as follows: Headbrd 90" wide by night stands x 41" tall. Vanity 72" wide with side tables x 70" tall w/mirror, Dresser is 50" wide x 23" deep x 70" tall with mirror, large stool 27" wide and smaller stool is 22" wide. As for condition- as you can see it's not mint- it's nearly 100 years old. The wiring needs re-done. The stools need re-upholstered and there are a few dings from use- but overall still in good condition. 2 pc antique French deco bedroom set chest single bed extensive inlay inlaid
I am calling this French deco for style and age. But this furniture is unsigned and I believe the work of a custom cabinet maker. I believe it was made in the 1930s. The set consists of a single bed(that's what you call a twin when you only have one) and a 4 drawer tall chest. This much inlay work of this quality today would cost well over $10,000, so no whining about the price. Be sure to notice the funky drawer pulls. The inlay work is on all 3 sides of the case pieces and just check out the finials on the bed posts. As mentioned above, the spoon feet look like they have been reglued if you look closely, but no parts were changed or replaced. Still all original, just put back together. Everything else is excellent. I just can't say enough about this beautiful well crafted furniture. You will not find another set like it. Foot board, hardwood side rails and slats, a tall four drawer chest and a vanity with mirror. The bed frame is approximately 36 inches tall, 56 inches wide and 80 inches long. The chest has four drawers and is approximately 48 inches tall, 17 inches deep and 32 inches wide. The dresser/vanity is 36 inches tall, 17 inches deep and 44 inches wide. The mirror is aproximately 32 inches wide by 34 inches tall. It has a medium brown wood finish(I believe walnut) that goes with any decor. The bed foot board, the chest, and the dresser all have a really nice raised check detail which shows off the craftsmanship of the set. Vintage 1950s Lillian Russell Collectors Cherry 5 Pc. Bedroom Set
This lovely Lillian Russell/Cumberland Valley bedroom set is from 1950 and was 1 of 2 sets Grandmother owned. Bought new. My husband remembers sleeping on it at age 4 or 5(now 66) The bed is a full size Cannonball short post, the dresser has the standard mirror(covered to reduce photo glare) and has 3 large drawers and 2 upper deck glove/jewelry drawers, the chest has 4 drawers(1 has a 3 section interior) the night stand has 2 drop leaf sides and 2 drawers. The bed headboard needs TLC due to use; the dresser has a joint line that appears to have been repaired; the chest is in excellent condition and the night stand needs repair of a split in the right hand drop leaf. Highest point in set would be Ar moire at about 7 feet 2 inches. The condition is very good for this time period and has the normal scuffs and wear of use and shines up like a jewel when polished regular. There are natural cracks in some burl areas brawn apart over age. I would replace the older hardware with something more modern but traditional. Burl tends to cave in with age in the knot area which separates the wood. Most people do not touch this or fill it in but leave it with it's natural aging. The celluloid hardware is hard to describe very old with some cracks and what looks on one or two to be a replacement ring? Not sure. Gorgeous estate find! Waterfall style set that needs some refinishing and touching up. There are lots of nicks. Spots, wear, and chipped laminate throughout the set that needs some TLC. The footboard of the bed needs to be re-secured/attached to the posts. It has a slot end that fits into the hole on the post and might just need some wood glue. There are rollers on the bottom of the pieces that are missing but can be easily replaced. The drawers are dovetailed and the mirror to the vanity is original. The case pieces are all decorated with brass gold dore hardware. The set is in very good condition, always well cared for with all the pieces being well maintained and nicely waxed. The Armoire is 67 1/2" long, 22" wide and 97" tall. It completely disassembles for easy take down and set up. The dresser is 43 1/2" long, 21 1/2" wide, 34 1/2" tall at its work surface, 41 1/2" tall at the top of the marble back shelf and 78" tall at the top of the tri fold. The nightstand is 16" long, 16" wide and 32 1/4" tall. The bed has a 65" tall headboard and 41" tall footboard and is 60" wide.
