Much better than what is typically found beds of this type and era, ready to use very clean and with a wonderful patina to the wood. With the original slats, no replacement wood no discoloration no significant or structural damage. The head side of the rails on each bed have a missing part of the decorative designee and the other rail with one intact and one repaired(see the third photo) One of the footboards has chips on the base of the columns(see last photo) and this footboard also has some loose joints giving it some slight pay, less than typical for antique bedframes. This bedroom set is from the early 1930's. And has a walnut appearance. It is very ornate with intricate details. The chest of drawers has a built in glove box or gentlemen's box on top. Art Deco Waterfall 4 Poster Bedroom Set - Bed, Dresser, Vanity, Chair
Deal of the month- Check out this Mid Century Art Deco 4 Poster Bedroom Suite. The bed is a rare waterfall 4 Poster full size bed. The headboard and footboard are original but I think the steel rails replaced wooded one that probably came with the original set. This set has the chest of drawers and vanity with all matching pulls with bakelight accents. Some of the bakelite edges are scuffed or chipped. For its age this set is in remarkable condition. Some chips on the edges and below normal wear and tear. The vanity has three mirrors on the back that are beveled and etched. Only a few minor blemishes. Beautiful cherry-finish antique bed and vanity. Late 1930's to early 1940's manufacture. Very sturdy. Not rickety. Full-sized bed(sometimes called double bed) Ideal for a smaller guest room. Comes from a non-smoking home! Bed is shown with a very thick mattress(14" NOT included) in first picture. The very thick mattress hides part of the headboard. Bed and vanity show the usual light age marks. But everything is in very excellent condition, considering the pieces are about 75 years old. There is a non-structural split(appearance only) on the edge of the baseboard of the bed, which was repaired. The two wooden bed rails are not original to the bed. As the original bed rails were lost. Reproductions were hand-made from solid oak to replace them. The last picture shows the reproduction bed rail. Includes bed slats. Art Deco Bedroom Set Vanity w/ oval mirror, dresser, twin bed.
This is my great grandfathers and grandmothers bedroom set. It is from the late 20s. The dresser and vanity are in nice shape. There is a tiny bit of trim missing from the top right corner of the vanity. You can see it in the pictures. The full size bed holds a queen size mattress. As I show in my pictures. There is some water damage to the left front footboard, as you can see in the pictures, the veneer is lifting off a bit. A good wood person could repair this. There you go. 2 pc antique French deco bedroom set chest single bed extensive inlay inlaid
I am calling this French deco for style and age. But this furniture is unsigned and I believe the work of a custom cabinet maker. I believe it was made in the 1930s. The set consists of a single bed(that's what you call a twin when you only have one) and a 4 drawer tall chest. This much inlay work of this quality today would cost well over $10,000, so no whining about the price. Be sure to notice the funky drawer pulls. The inlay work is on all 3 sides of the case pieces and just check out the finials on the bed posts. As mentioned above, the spoon feet look like they have been reglued if you look closely, but no parts were changed or replaced. Still all original, just put back together. Everything else is excellent. I just can't say enough about this beautiful well crafted furniture. You will not find another set like it. This is a 1930-1940 Art Deco bedroom set that I recently acquired. It consist of the dresser and mirror(vaneer on back side of mirror is peeling- see picture& mirror glass itself just needs a cleaning) Bureau, full size head board and foot board. It does have bed side rails but the vaneer is peeled badly so I did not bother taking a photo.They fit perfectly with the head& foot boards and I assume any bedding would cover these rails or you can peel off the remaining vaneer and paint them.All of these pieces are on small casters/wheels. There are some snall nicks and also some surface blemishes from usage and age(see pictures) The dovetail jointed drawers work nicely, the units themselves are sturdy and solid. Nice finish on most of the areas. Nice backs. The yellow gold painted color edging is faded and slightly worn from usage and ... moreage as well. A great set for the price! The high back bed features an arched headboard over applied carvings. The wonderful hotel dresser offers a long swivel dressing mirror over one long drawer on one side and tall chest on the other with a small hat box. A ball and stick back splash decorate the chest side of the dresser. The dresser does boast its original beveled mirror and shows some clouding. The hardware we believe to be original. The washstand is a nice size having space for a lamp and other things. The seat is very solid.
