This is an antique Jenny Lind bed that is 85+ years old. Included are the headboard. Foot board, wood side rails, wood slats, mattress, and spring board. The mattress and spring board were custom made for this bed by L.H. Meyer and Son Bedding CO, St. Louis, MO, which has been in business since 1900. All are in excellent condition! The bed is a little larger than a twin, but slightly smaller than a full size bed. Full sheets can be used on this bed. Antique English Four Poster Bed in Cherrywood Full Size, Circa 1920-30's NICE
You are bidding on a 1930’s-40’s Full Size Four Poster Bed. Headboard, Footboard. These pieces belonged to my grandmother. I have been using these pieces myself until recently downsizing and redecorating. The finish of the headboard and footboard are the original. I am not sure of the wood description. I would say that it is either mahogany or cherry wood. The Headboard has some flaws on the insides of the legs(splintering) and some engineering has been put into place to hold the sideboard to the insides of the headboard with hardware to help with making it strong to hold mattress in place. I’m sure it can be repaired correctly. But my husband came up with this solution. This is pointed out in the photos. There are 6 slats to hold mattress. The footboard is in good shape. Double size. English, walnut, straight slats, with carving in ribbon design, 54" tall. This charming bed was part of the antique collection furnishing the Arcadia Country Inn Bed& Breakfast in Port Townsend. Washington, when The Flying Karamazov Brothers purchased it in 1986. It was appraised by David Etheridge in 1996 at $535. My sons grew up sleeping in these beds, but now we find ourselves with a bed surfeit. ORIGINAL LIFETIME ATTRIBUTED MISSION OAK ARTS & CRAFTS DAY BED, Circa 1910
Up for auction is an antique quartersawn oak day bed. I bought it at an Arts& Crafts auction in northern California many years ago. The auctioneer attributed the day bed to Lifetime. But, as far as I know, it is not signed. The slats in the backrest are original and structurally tight. The cushion is covered in a period cloth over foam rubber which is how I bought it. I had intended to recover the bed in leather with more cushioning. But never got around to it. There a small chip on the front right leg and a few other knicks in the wood, but overall the oak is in very good condition for its age and retains its original finish. The bed measures approximately 75 ½” long by 28 ½” wide by 24” high at the head end and 13 ½” high at the foot end. The bed is very heavy. Approximately 110 pounds. FOR LOCAL PICK UP ONLY!
