Antique Victorian Style Mauve Sofa with Ornate Carvings - needs restoration
Antique sofa being sold in"as is" condition. This mauve velvet sofa was purchased at an estate sale more than forty years ago by a late family member. She was told that it was empire style and that it from was the late 1880s. Over the years. This couch was well used and loved. It must be sold. As you can see, it is in need of some serious restoration. The couch no doubt will need to be recoverd. The arms have terrible fraying and you can see the material underneath the velvet. The wood. Which I am not sure if it is mahogany or walnut, needs to be re-stained and some areas of the wood may be fillers. In many areas, it has a"rough" feel. The cushions all have broken zippers and at one time the stuffing was replaced with some cheapy stuff. One of the legs were repaired at one time(see photo- a poor job) Also, the velvet on ... morethe cushions have fray marks as well as one the actual soft. The photos pretty much show all the work needed to get this sofa back in shape. The carving is very pretty and detailed. As you can see, the couch is framed around the back, arms and bottom as well as around the sides of the back. Measurements: 75 inches in length- 31 inches in depth- 37 inches in the back at its highest. I am unable to ship this item- I cannot imagine packing something like this. Antique Walnut Eastlake Three Shelf Stand: Ornate Incised Carvings , c.1880
This walnut Eastlake stand is in excellent condition. The shelves's surfaces may be an older finish but the remainder of the stand seems to be in the original finish with a great patina. The entire stand is sturdy and tight in construction. The two lower shelves provide additional space for display. All three shelves have great skirts with ample Eastlake influence in the numerous incised carvings on the wood. The turned legs at the floor level curve out from the stand to provide added detail but also extra sturdiness. Ernest Koken Barber Chair Congress Model Patent Oct 30 1888 Ornate Carvings Old!
I have up for auction one of the most sought after genuine antique barber chairs. A Ornately Carved Wooden Ernest Koken Congress Model Barber Chair with a Patent date of Oct 30. 1888. This Koken barber chair was bought recently at a small town estate sale in southwest Ohio. I'm not a collector and know nothing about barber chairs. I have searched the Internet and have concluded that this chair is very RARE. Even someone who isn't a collector can tell it has a superior quality. This chair was made before the invent of hydraulic chairs. The Koken barber chair has the Koken foot pedal that allows the chair to recline. And it works well. It also has the"joystick" side lever, but I'm not sure how it works. The chair also spins with very little effort. It has a plush fancy black fabric on the seat and back, with black looking ... moreleather armrests. The seat can be removed to reveal the number 11352 in the wood. Their is also stenciled lettering on the wood, but I can't make it all out. The four legs all have a brass foot. I cleaned one to reveal the metal. You can see in the pictures the wood is ornately cut and carved with a remarkable style. You can feel the history in it. Since I'm not a collector and know nothing about restoration I haven't tried to polish the wood, or clean the fabric. I will leave that to the winning bidder. They were originally used for transporting valuable items in the sea trade such as tea and silk and were later kept as displays in living rooms because of their beauty. The chest measures 12 inches in length. 7.2 inches in width and 7.4 inches in depth. Antique Bronze Floor Lamp "EXCO" with ornate gothic carvings Dolphins, Gargoyals
A gothic antique bronze bridge arm floor lamp with"EXCO 150" stamped on the bottom of the base. The lamp has a greenish tinged in some spots that I think is from the copper in the bronze. There are several gothic figures on the piece that give it a real unique appearance. I personally have never seen a lamp quite like it. It is very heavy and the electrical works well. I have a plain Jane shade for it but this item needs a better more deserving artistic cover. The unit stands 59 inches tall and the base is approximately 9 inches square. Please study the photos and you will see the gothic beauty that drew me to this unit. As for the age. I can only guess it is turn of the century but I am not sure.

Up for your consideration we have this beautiful window pediment from a WV home. It is a salvaged item and does have some imperfections such as quite a few worm holes or nail holes. It measures about 7.5" tall. 42.5" long and 1.5" thick at the piece of wood that goes across the top. This is a beautiful salvage piece that has never been painted. It has ornate carved designs applied to it on each end and a wreath design in the center.
