Antique baby/doll bed all wood 1930s casters hand sewn cushion 30x16x23 sturdy
ANTIQUE BABY/DOLL BED. This is a cradle. Bassinette, or bed. It may at one time have actually been used for real children, but it looks perfect for dolls. It was bought/made in the 1930s. I don't know what the wood is. It has casters on all 4 legs. But one caster is a little different from the others; it's the same size and does not affect rolling, but it's darker in tone. One end has different looking screws. There are a number of imperfections, scratches, small cracks, worn areas. But the bed seems plenty sturdy for displaying your antique dolls or other items. The pillow/cushion is quite heavy for its size. The covering sewn onto it looks handmade and done by an inexperienced seamstress. The fabric is different on top and on bottom. Whichever is which; one side is knotted. I don't know if it's original, but it does ... moreseem to be old. It has stains. I am also including 2 smaller pillows that were in it, but they don't seem to match the big one. The underlying slats are a separate piece. Not attached to the bed, just resting on ledges. I have lots more photos than I can include in this listing. The cereal box in the bed is not included: in the sale. But just for scale. The bed measures 30" long, almost 16" wide, 23" at the tallest point. The rails are 8" tall. The cushion is 1.5" thick. This bed can and will be taken apart for shipping. Vintage solid iron bed rails with the hook style. At least that is what I call them, I mainly see them used on wood beds but a possibility they may be used on iron beds, not sure! Measure 76 inches long not counting the hooks on each end. The hooks are aprx. 3 inches long on each end for a total of 6 inches longer which they hook on the inside of the wood bed. It is a solid handcrafted wood in excellent condition. You just need to add the mattress part to it. The upholstery is not broken. Is in one peace but needs cleaning or replacement. When in place, looks beautiful. Remember this is an antique that has more than 50 years old. Was acquired by my parents in 1970 and was already an antique. I can not tell exactly how old it is. But is really old. A good antique.

This baby crib is in USED condition and does show signs of aging. This crib features four metal panel inserts. Which are fitted and inserted between the slats rods on each of the four sides of the crib. The metal panel inserts are possibly made out of tin and feature a open hole design that consists of larger holes and smaller holes. There are 4 wheels that are on the bottom of the crib and they roll with ease. Please keep in mind, when bidding, that this item is a LOCAL PICKUP ONLY! Due to the age of this baby crib and condition of this antique crib, it would be very difficult to ... moreship it, so picking it up locally would be the best option. We do NOT deliver items! The crib has slat rods loose on ONE of the longer sides of the crib. There are 6 loose at the tops and 6 loose at the bottom. There is also a cracked area on on of the slat rods. Where the tin panel slides in. Not sure if the treading on the wheels is made out of rubber, but the treading has hardened and is missing on the wheels, due to apparent aging. There is also dings on the tread portions of the wheels, but no damage that would impair the movement of the wheels. The metal body and spokes of the wheels have rusted due to changes in the environment which it was stored over the years. None of the wheels are rusted completely into. As it is mainly surface rust. The wheels move smoothly without any issues. There is also some paint scuffs on the center caps of some of the wheels. The metal insert panels appear to have some of the smaller holes semi-filled. I am not sure if at some point during it lifetime that someone had previously painted the panels or if the panels were made painted. Solid Mahogany Four Poster bed- Full Size beautiful rich tones This is a truly beautiful bed that sits high. There are Pineapples on all four posters and this is a very solid bed. There seems to be a wooded cog-like wheels where the running boards intersect. The wood is nearly 2 inches thick around the standard boards. Thicker elsewhere. Please review the photo carefully this is an old bed and wear and tear is present on the wood. Mainly indentations and scratches, every other aspect is in working order. I don't know sufficient about restorations, but iI doubt this would cost much to do. This is a show stopper when you walk into a room. I have this bed listed locally as well.
