The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. Antique Vintage 1920's Winship Wardrobe Trunk Obviously shows some wear from age but I think it's in very good condition considering. Interior fabric is in good shape. All latches are in working order. Drawers are clean and in good working order. Top drawer locks and comes with original key. Lock works! Chest comes with original key. Has the name Sharp painted in green and in red on the trunk. There are a few minor light brown spots on fabric in drawers here and there. Vintage Hartmann Tourobe Slim Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Striped Suitcase C1920
This is a fantastic vintage antique skinny half wardrobe trunk made by Hartmann. I believe it dates to the 1920's-30s. The truck can be unmatched to form two separate sections. It still has it's two keys and is in very good to excellent condition for it's age and use. All the leather is still good and the inside is excellent. The outside has some usual scuffs and scratches. We found some cute vintage soaps and a sexy vintage advertising notebook with a pin up illustration on the cover in the trunk so I will include them in the sale since they've been together for so many years. This trunk had one owner. I got it out of an attic where it had been for at least 50 years. Local pickups are welcome and if the shipping looks crazy it is probably wrong. RARE Antique Vintage Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Travel Chest Case w/ History
Incredible opportunity to own a piece of history- antique steamer wardrobe trunk in very good condition considering its age. It has traveled the world and although many of the vintage stickers have faded as you can see in one photo there is one that shows a date of 1936. The trunk measures 22.25 x 22 x 40 inches on the outside. This trunk was bought about 20 years ago from someone who stated it had been purchased from an Estate. They were told that it had belonged to a World War II Nurse who took it overseas with her during her service time. We have no idea who this woman was other than the initials on the trunk"M.A.B. How great if a family member saw this ad and brought it home! This charming old wardrobe trunk is a LAUB'S LUGGAGE Baggage Builders brand. Manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. It is in good condition inside and outside, with obvious age related scars but no major flaws. It can be used flat for a coffee table or upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side and looks awesome decorating an old-fashioned bedroom with vintage style clothes hanging inside. ... moreThe outside is black in color and the inside is a medium blue. The long side is flat but when standing upright. The top end has a slight curvature design& this end also opens for easy access to the clothing hangers. The Laub Brothers were trunk makers from around the 1860's through probably the 1920's and possibly as late as the 1930's. They had two stores located at 422 West Jefferson Street and 516 South Fourth Street in Louisville. Kentucky. I believe this particular trunk was probably manufactured towards the end of this company's history so early 1900's. A 1926 advertisement read"Buy Laub's trunks first because Laub's trunks last" they certainly did! The trunk opens/closes well& is quite sturdy- has been stored in a dry. Safe& clean environment since we've had it. Size is approximately 40" on the longest side& the other two dimensions are approximately 22" each. There is no key& the lock would need repair. A large wardrobe trunk made by Henry Likly of Rochester. N.Y. established 1844. Extremely well made. And equipped with beautiful oak slats and ball castors on the bottom end. This fine trunk is complete. Fully functional, and in excellent vintage condition. It is signed with a brass plaque outside and a paper label inside. It is ink stamped Patented December 12. 1911. It comes with the original key. This rare American trunk was beautifully made in the same style of the famous much more expensive ones. Antique John T. Barnum Dome Top Wardrobe Trunk Vintage Rare 1906
We have here a nice and rare antique wardrobe trunk. This trunk was manufactured by the Barnum Trunk Company in 1906(no affiliation to P.T. Barnum) The trunk is what you would have seen your typical wealthy traveler use at the turn of the twentieth century. A little research on the internet yielded the following information: John T. Barnum was born in Rochester. NY on March 5, 1857. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic in Troy. NY in 1879 He moved to Minneapolis. MN in 1880 and began working for D.D. Whitney, founder of the original trunk factory in 1872 In September 1880. Barnum and a colleague, Mr. Goodrich, took possession of the company from the ailing Mr. Whitney The Barnum Trunk Company was incorporated in 1905 This trunk is a dome top trunk measuring 53" high. 22" wide and 21" deep. It has a swing out drawer section ... moreand a roll out clothes rack. Both the trunk and the rack have the Barnum plaques on them from Minneapolis, MN. On the bottom of the rack the stamp reads Pat. Feb. 20, 1906. I have 33 photos of the trunk, if you are interested in seeing them send me a message with your email and I can send the rest of them. The photos show the condition of the trunk. At some point, the trunk was painted the oil-based blue shown in the photos. There are some original hangers and straps on in the trunk also. The only major problems I see are the missing leather handles, one wooded wheel is missing from the roll out rack and the key is missing. Keep in mind this item is over 100 years old, and it likely did a lot of travelling, so it's not perfect. I'm basing my price on a couple different Barnum trunks I've seen sell on the internet. This 1920's Wheary Trunk cushioned top wardrobe chest is in pretty good condition. As you can see in the photos. The exterior, and all the hardware, is in solid structural and good cosmetic condition. The interior is better than most trunks of this age, with the fabric intact, no mold, or damage. The fold out drawer on the right side does seem to be missing(what I assume would be) the lift out tray. Two original wood hangers are included. If you are looking for decorative storage. Up for bid is a W W Winship and Sons Extra Quality wardrobe trunk. It is very rare. This has 2 doors that open and is made to sit in a corner and have access to all of the trunk. It has 4 different style hangers and a total of 7 hangers, all wooden. In the hanging compartment when the trunk is open the rods that hold the hanger extend out of the trunk for more room. The drawers are all functional, the top drawer has dividers in it, the bottom drawer is a 2 drawer compartment with straps in the bottom. The handle on the top is still together and solid but is worn. The inside has some spots but the material is in fair to good condition considering its age. This trunk is a rare find especially in the great condition that it is in. This is Taylor's XX Professional model steamer trunk designed for long trips overseas. The trunk is meant to be stood on end when carrying it and when positioning it once at a destination. It measures 47" tall. 23" wide, and 27" deep. The right side has a drawer on the bottom, to extendable rods, and will soon have wooden hangers. The left side has four drawers the top drawer designed with compartments. EVERYTHING is original! Antique Wardrobe or Traveling Wardrobe Trunk. Circa 1900s-1930s in excellent condition. American company, Lutz& Company of Washington, DC. Opens to wardrobe on left and drawers on right. On lower left is a case for shoes or other accessories. Top right drawer is divided into 3 sections with a lock(don't have the key) Bottom drawer is a hat drawer. There are 5 long hangers and 2 short hangers. There is an horizontal presser bar to hold items in place. Hangers are on chrome rods that telescope out, allowing the clothing to not be pressed so tightly when trunk is open. There is a Locking Bar on the right to hold the drawers closed while in transit. When on end, the top, which opens upward, is slightly domed. Leather handle on right end is no longer functional. All metal hardware is in place and the outside lock has a functional KEY. ... moreThe outside seems to be made of wood, which has some cracking, mostly the right domed end(see photo) The stains on the outside come out for a brief time with oiling. Would be beautiful if redone. Item has been used for the last 35 years as storage or as furniture. Vintage 1920's Hartmann Wardrobe Travel Trunk with Yale Key- Beautiful Condition
It's rare to find a vintage 1920's Hartmann wardrobe travel steamer trunk with its Yale key in this condition. All of the buckles and hardware on this piece are in working order. It comes with 2 straight bar hangers; 2 specialty hangers; and 5 coat/shirt/dress hangers. It has the original wood and metal bars that would have kept clothes tight and flat. The clothes bar extends 18" to pull clothes out for easy access. The trunk has three small drawers with cloth tie-downs and one large drawer with the original hanging hat keeper. There is some slight fraying of the cloth on the drawers from use but no large tears. The interior lid still retains its original blue velvet liner- still in beautiful condition with no tears or frays. The leather handle is stamped: 360 3" and the leather is in great condition. This item is a must see 1920s Belber Wardrobe Trunk. Measures approx. 42 1/2 H x 22 1/2 x 21 1/2 inches. fully opened flat is approx. 44 inches long. Amazing and rare, complete with most original items in the truck when sold. Manual of How to Pack Your Belber Wardrobe Trunk, wooden hangers, Belber silk cords to attach to them, Ironing board, removable shoe box, hat form, and laundry bag. It is in wonderful vintage condition, including some dings and scratches as they are found commonly on antique luggage and trunks great aged look. Inside cloth material does have condition issues due to its age. Fading and discoloration to the portion of the blue interior. The structural integrity is great and there are no problems. Also has no lock outside but the lock hardware is there and holds with a Lock. comes with all the hangers you see and the detachable briefcase. Has Rolling bearings fully working. Material is like the vintage guitar Tweed cases. Metal corners. Has the ususal old smell. Has all the interior straps. locking mechanism works fine but missing the Locks as you can see. Antique Vintage Steamer Wardrobe Trunk THE ULTIMATE STEAMPUNK Trunk
THIS IS MY VINTAGE STEAMER TRUNK FOR SALE Let me tell you about it. Its HUGE! 3 feet 5 inches tall. And 2 foot square. Made by"EVERWARE" Trunks. Newark NJ. And made With"Guaranteed Hard Vulcanized Fibre" Its is a dark green. The pulls in side are steel the locks and hardware on the out side are brass, the brass is alittle rusted and very tarnished. There are some traveling stickers on it but are all modern. I do have a Key for the large outside lock. And the not pictured bar lock that keep the drawers from falling out. I did add some small plastic ledges under the drawers, to make them able to pull out. One of the 15 hangers are original the rest are reproductions. The bars the cloths hangers hang out pulls out, this extends the bars to a full foot, and the top flips open. The Other side of the trunk has 4 drawers. First ... moreon top is 10" X 4" has a 1/3 divider. The Second Drawer. Is 9 inches deep 10 inches from front to back The 3rd Drawer. Is is 9 inches deep 10 inches front to back The 4th Drawer is 15 inches deep and 10 inches front to back has 1/3 divider. Again the condition is not great but at this point its 100 years old smells alittle musty rusty around the edges. But this is a one of a kind trunk. i used it for many years and kept everything i ever needed inside it, as i dragged this 150 + pound thing across the USA, you should do the same.
