The trunk is monogrammed with the initials"E.W.J. I was unable to locate a manufacturer name or logo. The trunk is in"usable" condition. But it has seen better days- PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PHOTOS! The trunk looks as though it originally had leather side handles. Unsure of the covering. Vintage Antique Wooden flat top steamer trunk. It measures more than 34" in length by just over 18" wide and a little more than 21" height and weighs almost 35 lbs. This MidCentury trunk is a stained with dark mahogany stain color and is very sturdy and usable. The Corners are coupled with heavy aluminum edges. and there are typical dings and dents. Scratches and scuffs due to age and use. There is little to no musty smell, at least is not saturated with odor/scent- will spray with Apple Cider vinegar to help neutralize naturally. Not sure of what type of wood- but there are additional carved wood bumpers on outer sides this Shabby Cottage Chic piece~ This trunk is antique and old- and has original small cast-steel wheels. All 4 are present and rolls fine. One hinge that is strong and holds up fine. This old trunk has a leather ... morehandle on right- still usable. left handle is missing and one of the flat top leather straps is split- all others tacked down and seem sturdy enough to use- though you can determine leather condition- Please LOOK at Photos to consider condition. This vintage trunk has been in storage for quite a few years. It's still functional with the lid still opening and closing. I'm not sure if the lock works. I don't have a key for it and didn't want to have it lock on me. The lock is made by eagle lock company of CT. The leather straps are not all there due to its age but the fasteners still work. Very nice condition upright wardrobe steamer trunk. This item has working locks and keys. Five locking drawers on the left side, hangers and a pull-out suitcase and ironing board on the left. Antique Early 1900s Wood Steamer Storage Trunk Black w/ Gold Oak - NICE!
This is a beautiful wood steamer trunk from the early 1900s. It measures 21" tall. It is 32 l ing and 19" wide. The trunk has an insert and the hinges are replacements. It is in excellent condition, on inspection it does show vintage wear. The side handles are broken and one of the bottom boards is split and the 2 front casters missing. It shows normal scuffing and bumps as you would expect but no abuse. The trunk is solid and sturdy. It comes from a non smoking and pet free home. It is clean and ready to use. The trunk will be shipped by Greyhound Package Express and it will have to be picked up at the buyers local Greyhound bus depot. 20" wide by 32" long by 31" deep steamer trunk in original condition. The top is built with a slight arch. I believe the trunk is from the early 1900s to possibly 1930. It is in very good condition and all of its parts are there except for the leather side handles which have both broken off. The trunk has a wooden pull-out bin which is 9" deep with two compartments. The hardware is working but we do not have a key for it. We've taken many pictures of the trunk to represent its condition but if you have any specific questions please do not hesitate to ask. Stanford, Connecticut, on the lock plate. Nice condition for its age. There is some wear on the handles, exterior, and interior tray. No key, but very usable since it latches.
