This trunk was bought about 20 years ago from someone who stated it had been purchased from an Estate. They were told that it had belonged to a World War II Nurse who took it overseas with her during her service time. We have no idea who this woman was other than the initials on the trunk"M.A.B. How great if a family member saw this ad and brought it home! This charming old wardrobe trunk is a LAUB'S LUGGAGE Baggage Builders brand. Manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. It is in good condition inside and outside, with obvious age related scars but no major flaws. It can be used flat for a coffee table or upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side and looks awesome decorating an old-fashioned bedroom with vintage style clothes hanging inside. ... moreThe outside is black in color and the inside is a medium blue. The long side is flat but when standing upright. The top end has a slight curvature design& this end also opens for easy access to the clothing hangers. The Laub Brothers were trunk makers from around the 1860's through probably the 1920's and possibly as late as the 1930's. They had two stores located at 422 West Jefferson Street and 516 South Fourth Street in Louisville. Kentucky. I believe this particular trunk was probably manufactured towards the end of this company's history so early 1900's. A 1926 advertisement read"Buy Laub's trunks first because Laub's trunks last" they certainly did! The trunk opens/closes well& is quite sturdy- has been stored in a dry. Safe& clean environment since we've had it. Size is approximately 40" on the longest side& the other two dimensions are approximately 22" each. There is no key& the lock would need repair. Up for auction is a early 1900's steam trunk luggage made by Winship Migrator. This trunk is made of solid wood and leather. The hardware does have light surface rust as this is easy to clean with steel wool. The leather is scratched. Cracking, and coming up in some places. One of the 2 handles are broke. all the latches work and this does come with three origional wooden hangers. One of the hangers does have a chip in the wood. This is a real time treasured piece! The inside does looks great. It may have a light stain or two and some slight dust as this is normal for it's age of around 100 years old. It measures 29.5 x 9 x 20.5 inches.

vintage Wheary Cushioned Top Trunk Wardrobe 1920's steamer luggage chest
This 1920's Wheary Trunk cushioned top wardrobe chest is in pretty good condition. As you can see in the photos. The exterior, and all the hardware, is in solid structural and good cosmetic condition. The interior is better than most trunks of this age, with the fabric intact, no mold, or damage. The fold out drawer on the right side does seem to be missing(what I assume would be) the lift out tray. Two original wood hangers are included. If you are looking for decorative storage. Or a trunk to repurpose it into some kind of bar or coffee table, this is the trunk you are looking for. I have NO KEY for this trunk. Up for purchase is this CIRCA 1920 Hartmann Cushion Top Steamer Trunk. The piece measures 40.5 x 21.5 x 15. As you can see on one side there are 4 Drawers and on the other one small suitcase on the bottom from where you would hang your cloths. There are no locks with this trunk, I do have the hardware piece to install the main lock if at some point you wanted to change the lock. This piece appears to have been repainted with the red and the art deco look on the drawers which was very well done. This piece was used as a decorative piece in a master bathroom from a local estate. The latches shut tight as they should. The piece has the patina one would expect from a steamer trunk from this era, has dings, dents scratches, scuffs, and the metal has the aged patina look. I have taken many pictures for your review. Welcome to"StoreFourtyFour" storage finds. Up for auction today is this beautiful early to mid 20th century Oshkosh Steamer Trunk. This trunk was found in a climate controlled storage unit and is in amazing condition. The lock has been cut but does still function for latching the lid shut. It appears to be in the fashion of the Chief line but with a custom ordered color. I have researched this trunk and it does not appear often in this color leading me to believe it was a custom order. The trunk has its original two interior trays which are also in great shape. This is one awesome piece. Please refer to the pictures for your own determination of condition. This is a great vintage piece that was made by H&M in the USA in the 1950's or thereabouts. The trunk is made of wood with metal corners and latches. It has a dark green finish with brass colored latches and corner protectors. The trunk has two latches on the front with a lock mechanism and a leather handle on one end(unfortunately the leather handle is broken) The trunk opens up to reveal a large compartment with a smaller tray compartment that sits on the top. This piece has some wear which gives it a great vintage patina and a classic. Retro look. ... moreThis is a great piece for display or storage! Condition: This trunk is vintage and used with some wear. There is some cosmetic wear from age and used including some scratches. Dings and discoloration from age. The two main latches are in good shape, but the leather handle on the side and the handle on the front are broken and missing parts. Antique Abel& Bach Co. ABC Milwaukee trunk. Chest, luggage. Made off wood and wrapped in steel. Very unique with original label on front. It has two inserts that pull out one is a tray and the other one has handles and snaps that holds it shut. Great overall used condition even with the inserts being very good condition. Measuring 36" wide 21 1/2" deep and 24" tall. The leather handles and frayed, but still intact. It has wood runners on bottom. Very Unique. Buy it now or all offers will be reviewed. Super clean inside, no fowl odors, small crack pointed out in pic. Includes 5 original wooden hangers. Otherside has a snap on cloth that protects clothes. Weighs 23 lbs unboxed Handle on side has cover pulling away. See picture. Still fully functional has a lock but no key. Outside case shows signs of use. Offered for sale is this great old large antique Steamer Trunk by Hartmann Trunk Co. Racine. WI. It has a brass plaque on top indicating Tuerke Baggage Co Baltimore, Md. I would guess that Tuerke was the distributor. It also has the monogrammed initials"PJB" This trunk, a relic of a bygone era of steamship travel, is approx. 40" high X 22" X 22" It comes with original wooden hangers and five drawers. The leather carrying strap is broken and there is no key. Please view all of the pictures as they are part of the description. What you see is what you get. It has expected scrapes commensurate with age but it is very sound overall. This would make a great display piece or a really cool coffee table. Local pick up only.
