Inside is lined with paper; with unique child's graphic. The removable tray has compartments for toys and miscellaneous items. The outside middle closure has not been closed since I do not have a key to reopen it. This trunk has been part of my family since I can remember. I believe that my father had it in the early 1930's but can't verify that. It could be older or newer. It measures 23" high. 19"wide and 34" long. The trunk is made of some type of metal with wooden stays. It has decorative tin type on the top and front. The lock has no key. It reads- Yale& Towne Mfg. Co/ shamrock around the keyhole with Y& T/ Stanford Conn. U.S.A. AB The round top has 5 wooden stays. 4 on the front and back and 3 on the bottom. The rollers are in working condition. The inside has no tray or decorations. As you can see. The inside of the top has some crayon marks(probably from my sister! a small crack by the hinge, and two strips of duct tape on the bottom that can easily be removed. I know very little about this trunk. I found it in a foreclosure here in Vegas. It is ROUGH. I can send more pics if you need to see certain features. It was definitely a cool looking trunk when it was new. The bottom is the worst part. See pics. I am taking a stab at the price, so don't shoot me if it is too high. it is large and pretty heavy. Shipping might be possible but I am going to list this as local pickup. Picking it up would be a good Las Vegas vacation excuse. As long as you pay for it, I will hold it for up to 30 days until you can get here. Any longer and I charge you a storage fee. I have a Wheary wardrobe/trunk that I will list also. Gorgeous Victorian era antique dome-top steamer trunk. The metal sides and top of this chest are embossed with an intricate floral design that has been painted a wonderful gold color. Contrasting black metal covers the corners and edges and is decorated with braces at the corners and where it meets the oak braces. Two heavy leather handles on either side are worn and broken. Giving the piece an authentic aged fee. The metal lock and fasteners are impressed with decorative designs with an arts& crafts flair. Two of the oak slats have writing on them, which is difficult to make out. This piece is both decorative and practical for storage. It most likely dates from the late 1800's or early 1900's. Overall. Antique Trunk. Half Trunk or Chest. Manufactured by Likly, McDonald& Rockett of Cleveland, Ohio. I believe this trunk dates to between 1890-1910. A true antique. Steel edged wooden trunk with an embossed pattern metal covering. Top center leather handle in original condition. Front center mounted keyed latch with two operational lever lock latches at the corners of the front. I do not have the key to the lock but the lock should work if you can find a key. The trunk measures 21" long. 11" deep and 9" tall. The corners are solid and square. The covering is complete with some rust showing on the bottom but no rusted through areas. The leather handle is aged and shows use. The interior looks to be paper covered with and is in original condition with age showing. The fabric strap hold the lid to the base may have been replaced ... morebut I see no other restoration done to this piece. The top has darkened from age. As shown. A very cool and apparently quite rare antique steamer trunk by the F. A. Weissman Company of New York City. I could not find another trunk from this company anywhere while researching it. I could only confirm that this company did indeed make trunks in the late 1800's/ early 1900's. Measuring 36" x 21" x 13" and very heavy duty. It's in typical condition with wear you would expect from a piece this age, although please note the side handles and front locking latch are long gone. Very old all wood 1942 vintage trunk. It has lost most of the paint and someone has put vintage superheroes stickers all over it many. Many years ago. All the hardware is metal including the latches, corners and all the ends. One corner piece is missing. The handles on the sides are wood. All the hinges and latches work. Inside lid reads Shwyder Bros Inc 1942. If you look closely at the pictures of the lid you can see there is also some stencil letter writing. The straps are intact, but have broken off in length, so do no buckle. One handle is more used than the other. Latch works fine, but does not have a key. For sale is this Gorgeous Vintage Wooden Trunk Covered in a Metal Outer Shell. The outer shell is painted black. The trunk body is in very good condition. The bottom is not rusted and all of the wooden parts of the bottom are attached. There are only a few notable cosmetic issues. The paper on the inside of the trunk has some damage to it(there is staining and some tears) It is also missing the handles on the sides. I dont have the key for the front lock and neither did the previous owner. I assume that is the reason for the detached bottom plate of the lock from the trunk's body. The plate is present and the lock is fully assembled and in good cosmetic condition. If you're looking to use this piece decoratively. The key doesn't matter much anyway.
