Size 28 inches wide. X 15 1/2 inches front to back, x 18 1/2 inches tall. Very small and nice trunk that wouldn't take up much space. Has a great patina. I took a lot of pictures to show the description. Handles don't match. Probably one or both is added, but they have the right look. The stay which holds the trunk open is there. But not original, but like the handles, looks right. The lock is missing. But you could find a replacement or leave as is. This will be great for decoration and some storage. Inside is lined with newspaper. Looks like it was done a long time ago. This trunk is one of the best i've had as far as rustic and patina. If it doesn't sell. I will keep it. Vintage antique trunk with tray wood with original wood handles. Tray is not original to the trunk. This is a very cute trunk and it has been refinished and is in great condition. It has been stripped. Cleaned, stained and has 2 coats of laquer. The finish is very slick and smooth. The trunk is in good physical condition. 1900's Antique Yale & Towne Steamer Trunk Chest Wood Leather Brass
This is a great antique trunk that at one time was used by Lumpee& Russ Harness Makers; I cannot make out the rest of the wording. The trunk is structurally solid. The valet tray has two holes but this could be nicely refinished. The top tray has two sections with one that does have the leather/button loop closure intact. There is no key in the locking mechanism that was made by Yale Towne MFG out of Stamford. Conn. It weighs just under 55 pounds. This is being sold as is. If you live on the I-5 corridor on the west coast(Washington, Oregon and California) I have a shipper. Antique Vintage Wood Doll Handkerchief Glove Box Trunk Latch & Bentwood Handles
Fresh from an upstate New York estate! This offering is for a primitive light wooden box or doll trunk measuring 12" wide. 6 1/4" deep and 5 1/2" high. I believe it to be a handmade doll trunk as I found a primitive"Mammy" rag doll and an old celluloid doll inside(sold separately) but it could have also been used as a glove or handkerchief box. The trunk consists of wood panels nailed together with three narrow slats attached on top and one on the front. The wood finish is richly aged but there are stains near the old nail heads- which only gives it more character. To each end there is a bentwood handle. These look like they were an afterthought to the original construction. The front has an old aged tin lever latch. When the lever is vertical the box is latched shut. When flipped to the left, the box latch is open. ... moreInside the cover is attached a paper picture of a Victorian dressed woman. The bottom of the trunk is papered but the paper is stained and torn. A strap of burlap to the left side is no longer attached to it's nail to hold the cover from flopping back. The only splits in the wood slats are two short edge splits on the bottom. Each is aprox. 2" long and does not affect the structural integrity of the box. Wonderful Primitive Antique Hand Hammered Gilt Copper& Brass Clad Wood Chest/Trunk. This is an all original beautiful piece. It is NOT a reproduction. It is sitting on wooden wheels. It has a hinged lid but one of the hinges has come loose from the lid and the piece of wood it was attached to has broken off. The hinge is still attached to the box. The lid still opens and closes fine and this could probably be repaired. There are some places throughout the box where the copper may be slightly bent. Dented, cracked etc. One of the corners has a piece of the trim that is around the edges that has come off but we do have a piece of it that may be reattached. The top of the lid has a spot where one of the nail holes is open and there is some white"sand" or something that they used to keep the 3D scene from caving in inside. Overall ... moremeasurements are 18 1/4" wide side to side, 11 1/2" front to back, and 13" tall. The scene on the front is four men sitting on benches and upside down barrels. One man standing to the side with what looks like a stein in one hand and a woman peeking out the door of the cottage. There is a cat sitting close by observing the men. The has what looks like men and women. One man looks to be helping a woman up off the ground. The scene on one of the sides is two men sitting inside amongst overturned barrels with bottles. Vases, pots etc in the background on a shelf. One is playing a violin or fiddle and the other is sitting next to him. The scene on the other side shows a man sitting in a chair with another man standing over him in front of him. Maybe he's a doctor or dentist? I can't really tell what he is doing. Pre 1930's hand carved wood trunk. The wood looks like cedar. But some of the research I've done the same Maker has used champhor wood. The lots of and hinges are original and are brass. the hinges are a little bit shaky and me need some attention. the trunk lid does open and close smoothly. There are several aged splits in the wood, nothing serious. Also one of the four feet is a little loose, it can be fix really easily, but I didn't want to mess with it. The overall condition for its age is good. 37" wide x 18" deep x 19" tall. The wood is all hand carved. The top is rounded. The carvings show people in a village, sailboats, nautical Chinese. Antique. Steamer Trunk. We found it in the work shop at an estate sale. It was being used for storage of old boy scout memorabilia and old kitchen curtains. There are several pieces of stickers on the trunk and one from the Black Ball Freight Service with the phone number"BREMERTON 300" dates the sticker to the days before we dialed phone numbers directly. I would guess the trunk dates to around the turn of the century. It's made out of wood with metal brackets and rivets. Black laminate on the outside. Blue and white paper covering the inside. Measures 30 1/2" long by 18 wide by 19 1/4" tall on the outside. Inside dimensions are 29 1/2" long by 16 1/2" wide by 14 1/2" tall. The lid is 3 3/4" tall on the inside. It weighs 26 pounds. Small Antique Dome Hunchback Wood Trunk Doll Child's 18 x 12 x 10.5 Inches VTG
This trunk is probably 100 years old. It looks a little redder in the photos than it really is. It still has a lot of the the original tin hardware and paper lining inside. It looks like there once was a tray that fit into the top. But it is missing. Also, the handles on each side are missing. In addition. There is a strip of wood trim on the front right that is missing(see 8 th photo) The trunk holds together nicely. The 7th photo shows where the boards do not completely meet on the bottom. This trunk could be beautifully restore(or used as is) It is a nice tabletop size that can work in many places. Unlike the large trunks. I'm happy to take more photos.

European made- This trunk is covered in brown canvas and has a flat top with hardwood runners and reinforced brass corners. Would make a jazzy coffee table or store prop. This double lock Oak banded trunk Circa 1890-1910 were a newer generation of the older. More solid trunks previously made. The wood was thinner, and instead of wide wood slats, they used half round oak banding. Antique Early 1900s Small Wood Steamer Trunk Red, Black w/ Gold Oak - NICE!
This is a beautiful wood steamer trunk from the early 1900s. This trunk is black metal with very pretty red and silver accents. It has unusual wheels on the bottom. I have not seen these on a steamer trunk. It measures 17-1/2" tall, 26" wide and it is 14" deep. It is in excellent clean condition. On inspection the handle straps are missing on the sides and the locking center latch is also missing. It shows normal scuffing and bumps as you would expect but no abuse. The trunk had mothballs stored in it and there is a lingering scent. I have never dealt with moth balls and I did not try to deodorize it but I think it will dissipate over time. The trunk is solid and sturdy. It comes from a non smoking and pet free home. It is clean and ready to use. Shipping includes insurance and delivery confirmation. The trunk is monogrammed with the initials"E.W.J. I was unable to locate a manufacturer name or logo. The trunk is in"usable" condition. But it has seen better days- PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PHOTOS! The trunk looks as though it originally had leather side handles. Unsure of the covering. But it appears to be leather(hoping the experts will know from the photos) Some of the locks are either damaged. Or are missing parts. Missing one of the metal top corner protectors.
