It is complete with the tray and the top has a compartment with a hinged door. The inside and the tray have been lined with wallpaper- beautifully done. To the best of my knowledge. All of the leather is original. It has the original Brass Lock with a star pattern. The key is included and the trunk does lock. The trunk automically locks when you close the lid. If the key is not present. The key must be in the lock and turned to the unlocked position to open the trunk. Measures approximately 30" Wide(without the side straps) by 17" Deep by 15" High. Stained a Medium Brown- Base is made from Pine with Oak Slats. It does have a crack on the top. But to me, this just adds to its appeal. Other than a few very minor scratches. This is a rare wheeled studded Jenny Lind Stagecoach or Steamer Trunk including its key. I think it dates from the 1800's. It is made of iron and wood and has its original fittings and inside compartments and label. There is a compartment in the lid. A tray compartment and a bottom compartment. It has a metal bottom. The label reads Edgar Parmer and company- Trunk Manufacturing and the lock is marked J. Terry& Co. Terryville CT. It is approximately 27 1/2" wide, 17" deep at the deepest point and 16 1/2" tall to the crest. It is approximately 27 1/2" wide, 17" deep at the deepest point and 14" tall to the crest. The leather straps are broken and a few brass studs are missing.
