Beautiful Louis Vuitton Monogram Trunk Fantastic vintage Louis Vuitton trunk. Very nice case in monogram canvas. The brass hardware is all intact and very strong. The original key is included! Very rare to have the key along with the case! The trunk does have some wear throughout but overall is in wonderful vintage condition. The canvas shows wear mostly on the sides and a bit on the top of the case. The rivets all say Louis Vuitton. Corners on top were painted with yellow. Along with initials G.C.C. on each end. What an awesome piece of history this thing is! It's in great shape. Considering its age and that it's probably traveled around the world. There is no key but I'm sure you can get a locksmith to figure that one out. 21" x 12" x 35" and ready for travel. Or as a display piece. Both handles are still in great shape and the hinges are all holding strong and intact. This is not a family heirloom so I do not know the history of it. There is a ladies name on an old sticker label on the side. This thing need to travel the world again and this time needs all the country stickers slapped on it like it was suppose to be. Circa 1914 DESCRIPTION: A World War I era steamer trunk manufactured by a company that is considered to be the German Louis Vuitton when it comes to quality of workmanship. Moritz Madler Co. of Leipzig. Germany was the largest trunk maker in Germany and patented this trunk style with the narrow wood slats and canvas covered wood body. 39" x 22" x 18. Has the owner's initials, H.B.G. printed on the top. Exterior is varnished canvas with a great patina. Interior is white canvas, all intact. Four canvas straps have MADLER embroidered on them. Corners have brackets for an interior shelf(not present) CONDITION: Please see photographs. I actually salvaged this one last week from the side of the road. It had been rained on the night before. So there is some water staining of the interior ... morecanvas, and it has a slightly musty smell that has improved as it's aired out. It's completely dry now. Overall in sturdy shape, r etaining original varnished and painted surface. Framed with original bentwood supports. One leather handle is missing, the other is broken. Slight warp to front and a couple of tears to canvas that don't really take away from the appearance. Looks like someone tried to break into it at some point; the locks are not functional, but may be restorable. Looks like someone must have put on an additional lock(it doesn't show up on the original ads) and that's missing the bottom latch(I would just remove it, but that's up to the winning bidder. William Bal Luggage Antique Trunk with Corbin Cabinet Lock Co. Lock and Key
This trunk was manufactured by The"William Bal Co. in Newark NJ" and the plate on top of the trunk continues with"SPEC1198 Contract 6-23-16 Phila Depot" as you can see in the one picture. It has a Corbin Cabinet Lock from New Britain Conn. This trunk has been in the back of my garage for the last 50 years untouched. I would guess it is from the very early part of the century I did not try to clean it or restore it in any way because lots of people do not want that done so it is up to you. This trunk was bought about 20 years ago from someone who stated it had been purchased from an Estate. They were told that it had belonged to a World War II Nurse who took it overseas with her during her service time. We have no idea who this woman was other than the initials on the trunk"M.A.B. How great if a family member saw this ad and brought it home! This charming old wardrobe trunk is a LAUB'S LUGGAGE Baggage Builders brand. Manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. It is in good condition inside and outside, with obvious age related scars but no major flaws. It can be used flat for a coffee table or upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side and looks awesome decorating an old-fashioned bedroom with vintage style clothes hanging inside. ... moreThe outside is black in color and the inside is a medium blue. The long side is flat but when standing upright. The top end has a slight curvature design& this end also opens for easy access to the clothing hangers. The Laub Brothers were trunk makers from around the 1860's through probably the 1920's and possibly as late as the 1930's. They had two stores located at 422 West Jefferson Street and 516 South Fourth Street in Louisville. Kentucky. I believe this particular trunk was probably manufactured towards the end of this company's history so early 1900's. A 1926 advertisement read"Buy Laub's trunks first because Laub's trunks last" they certainly did! The trunk opens/closes well& is quite sturdy- has been stored in a dry. Safe& clean environment since we've had it. Size is approximately 40" on the longest side& the other two dimensions are approximately 22" each. There is no key& the lock would need repair. Up for auction is a early 1900's steam trunk luggage made by Winship Migrator. This trunk is made of solid wood and leather. The hardware does have light surface rust as this is easy to clean with steel wool. The leather is scratched. Cracking, and coming up in some places. One of the 2 handles are broke. all the latches work and this does come with three origional wooden hangers. One of the hangers does have a chip in the wood. This is a real time treasured piece! The inside does looks great. It may have a light stain or two and some slight dust as this is normal for it's age of around 100 years old. It measures 29.5 x 9 x 20.5 inches.

BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE WHEARY CUSHION TOP 4-DRAWER LOCKING STEAMER LUGGAGE TRUNK
This is a really well-kept ANTIQUE WHEARY CUSHION TOP WARDROBE STEAMER TRUNK from the very early 1920's. This gorgeous piece of travel luggage has a nice tough outer hide. And the inner suitcase matches inside and out with a pleasant blue felt and fabric. The 4 drawers are clean to use and are in excellent working order, and the steel bar locks them closed for traveling. This beautiful steamer trunk comes with: Multiple hardwood hangers. Pants hangers and tie rack; A Stainless Steel inner bar holds all hanging clothes in; An inner dust cover to protect clothing from sun light and dirt; Four(4) drawers with Stainless Steel outer locking bar; A spare valise for your important files and papers; M easures 42" x 22.5" x 24" when closed; or, M easures 42" x 22.5" x 48" when opened; Weight(empty) is approximately ... more90 Lbs. There are few rips. Tears or missing fabric- what is missing is very small- and there is very little fading. The outside shows few dents or scratches, the leather handle is intact, and has no missing pieces of trim what so ever. This wonderful piece of American history comes well traveled. But taken well care of, and it hails back to the past era of boat and train travel of the 1920's. Shipping is going to be expensive- unless you live in or near Portland. Vintage Hartmann steamer trunk luggage chest antique foot locker
Large rectangular steamer trunk by Hartmann Trunk Company. Not sure of dates. But I tried to look up the patents(on a label inside the trunk) and the only patents I could located were from the 1920s. Approximately 4 feet high, 2 feet wide,foot and a half deep. Leather handles torn. Some rust. A little musty but it should clean up decently. Some tears to the fabric, and a small dent/break in the exterior(visible in the 10th picture) Prefer local pickup but will provide a shipping quote if interested. Please check my other items. Antique Vintage Black Steamer Wardrobe Locking Trunk Luggage w/ Hangers & Keys
This auction is for an antique steamer/wardrobe trunk made by Preismeyer Bros. St. Louis. It has 6 drawers on one side, and a"closet" with its original wooden hangers and a drawer underneath on the other side. A metal rack pulls out so you can access the hanging clothes like they are in a closet. The drawers and the"closet" are locking, as is the trunk itself, with the same key. The key comes with the trunk. Cosmetically. The trunk has been cleaned and painted black inside and out, with the insides of the drawers and closet clear-coated to seal them. The outside shows wear from use, but seems to be solid and in great shape! The latches all work as they should, but the leather handle on top is missing. The trunk has no strong or offensive odors. Mfg. for Osh Kosh Dale, N.Y. believe from the 1920's or 30's) big heavy duty one at approx. 42.5" x 29" x 22.5" This great old trunk is framed with brass hardware, no keys with it but a lock smith could probably make you some. The trunk materials are leather, solid brass, wood and canvas. I believe it is all original but don't know if everything is with it. Please see all pictures and use the zoom to see details& condition. The outside does have scruffs& scratches, it has most likely traveled across the ocean from far away places a few times. How great if a family member saw this ad& brought it home! This old Wardrobe Trunk(also known as" Traveling Wardrobe" is a LAUB'S LUGGAGE Baggage Builders brand. Manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. Its heavy& well made, in very good condition inside& outside, with obvious age related scars, but no major flaws. Experts state these style trunks have seen ... morea popularity surge in the past few years. The materials used are various metals, leather, wood, fabric& I'm not sure if there's anything else. While it was originally designed to stand on end for easy access. It can be used flat for a coffee table or upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side(in excellent condition) on an extending rod which appears to be chrome over steel& it even has the extra cover that snaps over the lower section for shoes&or valuables. This trunk was found in a climate controlled storage unit and is in amazing condition. The lock has been cut but does still function for latching the lid shut. It appears to be in the fashion of the Chief line but with a custom ordered color. I have researched this trunk and it does not appear often in this color leading me to believe it was a custom order. The inside acrylic drawer pulls have a great deco look.The lockable(with key) 5 drawers are clean and are in excellent working order and have the tie down straps and quilted padding in all drawers. There are few scratches/dings from age/use. The outer Wheary metal script badge is present but bent- and there is very little fading to the interior fabric. Antique Wardrobe or Traveling Wardrobe Trunk. Circa 1900s-1930s in excellent condition. American company, Lutz& Company of Washington, DC. Opens to wardrobe on left and drawers on right. On lower left is a case for shoes or other accessories. Top right drawer is divided into 3 sections with a lock(don't have the key) Bottom drawer is a hat drawer. There are 5 long hangers and 2 short hangers. There is an horizontal presser bar to hold items in place. Hangers are on chrome rods that telescope out, allowing the clothing to not be pressed so tightly when trunk is open. There is a Locking Bar on the right to hold the drawers closed while in transit. When on end, the top, which opens upward, is slightly domed. Leather handle on right end is no longer functional. All metal hardware is in place and the outside lock has a functional KEY. ... moreThe outside seems to be made of wood, which has some cracking, mostly the right domed end(see photo) The stains on the outside come out for a brief time with oiling. Would be beautiful if redone. Item has been used for the last 35 years as storage or as furniture. Also included in the 2nd drawer is a drawstring bag made of the same material as the lining in the interior of the trunk. Overall dimensions: 40" long x 20 1/2" high x 21" deep.
