The inside is rough but it still has all the Victorian inserts! The inserts are in really tough shape, ripped, water damaged but it’s all there. The entire drawer/insert comes out. I am selling this Louis Vuitton wardrobe trunk for my in laws. It is located in Traverse City MI. We would prefer to have it picked up there. I was told this trunk dates to the early 1900s. This trunk measures approximately 44" tall when standing vertically. When the trunk is closed. Could this have belonged to the famous singer James brown? The case has a lot of wear and some damage. There are scuffs, wear to the leather, the handle has damage and the inside has stains and mold. This is an Ed. Roos Co. Cedar Chest which is great condition. The information below gives you information about the company and vintage era about this cedar chest. Cedar Chest by Ed. Roos Co. The Ed. Roos Co. manufactured quality cedar chests from about 1916 to 1951. Most of those years they were located in Forest Park. IL. They were very successful for a time and made a large quantity of cedar chests. Because of that they are not particularly scarce. They are, however, of very good quality and were manufactured in quite a few styles. The style and condition are the determining factors in value. The Art Deco"waterfall" style. It is. However, in better condition and would be worth about $200-$250. The"Roos Manufacturing Co. of Chicago was established in 1871 by Edward Roos(born in Germany in December 1848) Died in 1906. He had ... moreseveral children including Otto(born 1877) and Edward(born 1880) Otto took over the Roos Manufacturing Company when his father died in 1906. They did manufacture cedar chests, but it is unclear when they started. The business began making curtain rods and later wooden boxes. They used a rooster in several variations in some of their logos. The"Ed Roos Company of Forest Park" started in Chicago as the Roos Cedar Chest Company in 1916. And also manufactured cedar chests, but it is a different company. They used a tree(presumably a cedar tree) in a circle as their logo. There are also other logos without the tree, and one with a heart for their"Sweetheart" chests. They also used a variety of paper and cardboard labels. It was started by Otto's brother. Edward. The company moved to Forest Park, IL in 1918 and changed its name to the Ed Roos Company of Forest Park In the 1920 federal census. Otto Roos is listed as President of a wooden wares business. So it is clear that the original Roos Manufacturing Company was still at work in 1920, after Ed Roos opened up shop in 1918 in Forest Park. Up for bid is a W W Winship and Sons Extra Quality wardrobe trunk. It is very rare. This has 2 doors that open and is made to sit in a corner and have access to all of the trunk. It has 4 different style hangers and a total of 7 hangers, all wooden. In the hanging compartment when the trunk is open the rods that hold the hanger extend out of the trunk for more room. The drawers are all functional, the top drawer has dividers in it, the bottom drawer is a 2 drawer compartment with straps in the bottom. The handle on the top is still together and solid but is worn. The inside has some spots but the material is in fair to good condition considering its age. The outside has scuffs and wear but has held up well. I will crate for shipping.

For your consideration is a fully refinished antique steamer trunk now designed as a coffee table. This table measures 36" wide X 21" deep X 17.5" high. The trunk was stripped of its interior paper. The interior wood was cleaned. Sanded, stained and sealed to show the natural pine wood. The bottom has some metal straps for support so I added a piece of fabric as a covering. The exterior canvas covering was in great shape so it was left and painted with Annie Sloan"old white" The exterior wood slats were stripped. Stained to a deep dark walnut, then sealed as shown. Legs were added to raise the trunk to coffee table height. The side leather handles and handle end caps are original. It comes with its original working lock and key. Antique Wardrobe or Traveling Wardrobe Trunk. Circa 1900s-1930s in excellent condition. American company, Lutz& Company of Washington, DC. Opens to wardrobe on left and drawers on right. On lower left is a case for shoes or other accessories. Top right drawer is divided into 3 sections with a lock(don't have the key) Bottom drawer is a hat drawer. There are 5 long hangers and 2 short hangers. There is an horizontal presser bar to hold items in place. Hangers are on chrome rods that telescope out, allowing the clothing to not be pressed so tightly when trunk is open. There is a Locking Bar on the right to hold the drawers closed while in transit. When on end, the top, which opens upward, is slightly domed. Leather handle on right end is no longer functional. Trunk Description: Approximate measurements: 30” wide. 15” tall, 15” deep. A travel trunk manufactured and labeled by Louis Vuitton of Paris. France, circa early 1900's. A leather covered trunk with leather corner bindings and brass latches, lock, and rivets. The trunk serial number is 181974, stamped on the inside lining next to the label as typical. The Louis Vuitton signature style label, showing the Paris and London retail addresses, is in very good condition. The trunk was made sometime between about 1910 to 1930 based on the serial number, but only the Louis Vuitton company has the records which can identify the actual age of the trunk. The brown leather covering shows typical signs of aging and wear, and there is a small piece missing on the front of the lid. The leather corner binding is in good condition with some rubbed spots. ... moreThe center leather tie-down strap is missing, but the leather strap holders are present except the one over the lock. The two side handles are missing and the rivcts for the handles holders are present. There are several partial paper travel stickers on the trunk which do not add any specific history for the trunk. Complete with five canvas drawers four of which have linen straps with brass closures marked Louis Vuitton. The drawers are all in great shape for over 100 years! Though there is some damage on a few spots on the linen wrapped drawers this would be expected being over 100 years old and well used. The top is padded and silk lined with the 1910 Louis Vuitton label and that of John Wanamaker. I have included below the historical info on both and how they came to work together. Antique Bisque/porcelain baby in steamer trunk box. Precious Baggage” This is a beautiful sweet antique bisque/porcelain box depicting a baby in a steamer trunk named“Precious Baggage” This is from an estate sale. It belonged to a little lady that was born in 1908 and was a gift when she was born. Box: The box is very interesting. It measures 4 inches wide. 2-7/8 inches deep, and 4-1/4 inches from bottom of box to top of lid opening. It has a label on the box like a tag in slick shiny porcelain saying“Precious Baggage” trimmed in gold. The box has an open lid that is fixed. It does not move. It is painted on the front and the end sides. There is no paint on the back of the trunk or the back of the lid. There is some small missing paint on the edge of the box on the foot end of the baby and a scratch on the upper lid on the same end. You can ... morefeel the missing paint. It may be small scratches but it does not feel like chips. If it is chipped, it is very slight. The nick on the top of the box on the underneath lid edge is a small chip. Please see the pictures as they really best describe the box and figurine. BABY: The baby that is packed in the trunk is a dollface. She has a little blue outfit. Stripped socks and a little cap or bonnet that matches the dress. There are little gold trimmed dots on the dress. The paint on her face is detailed very nicely. All paint is intact. Eyes are blue; lips are reddish pink. Hair light brown, eyebrows intact. One hand and one foot show. Cheek color and overall face color very good and bright. Lg Brown Wood & Varnished Canvas Steamer Trunk, Original 1900-1950 Americana
20" wide by 32" long by 31" deep steamer trunk in original condition. The top is built with a slight arch. I believe the trunk is from the early 1900s to possibly 1930. It is in very good condition and all of its parts are there except for the leather side handles which have both broken off. The trunk has a wooden pull-out bin which is 9" deep with two compartments. The hardware is working but we do not have a key for it. We've taken many pictures of the trunk to represent its condition but if you have any specific questions please do not hesitate to ask. Carved Oak Scandinavian 1900 Antique Chest or Trunk. Item# B-19662. This hand carved oak chest or trunk from Scandinavia has a mysterious trap door on the left side. Solid oak and paneled all around. Joints have carved wooden pegs. The top has been revarnished for durability. The base has its original finish in very fine condition, and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain its luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. This listing is for a wonderful. Rare Hartmann Gibraltarized wardrobe trunk from the 1920s/1930s. This one has some really nice and interesting features. It does not come with the key. The drawers are all intact and include tie-down ribbons. The wardrobe side contains not only the usual wooden hangers and presser bar but two folding hangers. Many of these did not survive and they are very hard to find. The bottom of the wardrobe is finished off with a shoe section and a privacy/dust curtain that snaps at the bottom. 1900-1950 Black Vintage Hartmann Steamer Chest/Trunk made in America
This is an antique/vintage Hartmann steamer chest/trunk dated from sometime between 1900 and 1920. It is made by the Hartmann Trunk Company out of Racine. Wisconsin. There is a stamp with that information on it on the front of the trunk. It looks like it has travelled to San Francisco and Los Angeles, California and Denver, Colorado as there are a couple of stickers on the top from those places. It is in very good condition with scratches and marks on the exterior consistent with travel and having been put on and off trains. The interior is in excellent condition with no tears or stains in the fabric. It is very heavy, around 85-100 lbs and approximately 40 inches tall, 22inches wide and 21 inches deep. It contains 4 drawers. A small suitcase, an ironing board, and 10 hangers. There is no key for the lock. It smells old. But does not smell ... moreof mothballs or musty. It has been in Colorado for the last 20 years that I know of, so it has been in a dry climate and a non-smoking home. It really is a nice piece and would be good for decorating a corner of a room, used as a coffee table, or dorm room or any small room storage. Thank you for your time.

THIS IS A EARLY TRUNK FROM AROUND THE 1920'S MEASURING 40.5" X 19" AND 20.5" TALL THE LID HAS A SLIGHT CURVE ON EITHER FRONT CORNER. THE GARGOYLE FACE HAS A OLD CHIP TO THE TOP OF THE FACE. SEE PHOTOS FOR DETAILS. THIS TRUNK HAS A NICE PATINA. EXPECT IMPERFECTIONS. THERE IS A HOLE WHICH IS MOST LIKELY ORIGINAL TO THE WOOD ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE ON THE TRUNK UP BY THE TOP. ABOUT 1" BLENDS IN WITH PIECE. THERE ARE TWO PLUGS. ONE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE TOP, THEY KIND OF LINE UP. THE PLUGS GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE LID. STRUCTURALLY THIS PIECE IS SOUND. VERY STURDY. THE HINGES ARE NEWER. THE FEET IN THE BACK ARE ROUND. PROBABLY NOT ORIGINAL. FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS. Stanford, Connecticut, on the lock plate. Nice condition for its age. There is some wear on the handles, exterior, and interior tray. No key, but very usable since it latches.
