Antique Brass Cast Iron Optical Device Williams Brown & Earle Philadelphia 1890s
This interesting antique brass and cast iron optical device is about 5 1/2" to 6" tall(or long) and it is attached to a 6" x 4 1/4" x 3/4" thick cast iron mounting base. It has metal clips to hold a slide and it can serve as a microscope when viewed vertically. The iron base has 2 channels through it that permit the scope to be mounted horizontally in front of a light source(magic lantern)and used as a lens to project the enlarged image onto a screen. The device is heavy(approx. 3 1/2 pounds)and well made and it is marked"Williams. Brown, and Earle- Philadelphia" on the side. There is some rust on the iron base and it has a patina of age but over all the piece is in good original condition and it still functions well the way it is supposed to. My best guess as to age is 1880s-1910s. Very unusual! Payment ... morePa. residents please add an additional 6% sales tax or provide a tax exempt number. Please be patient there are 10 photos to be loaded in this auction. This auction is for an antique cast iron and brass microscope. This is a fairly ... moresimple construction. A small mirror to provide light and a single tube for the body. The adjustment is not a turning knob, but a small post to slide the tube up and down. The base and platform are made of cast iron, with the finer tube construction being brass. The only mark we found was'France. The cast iron has some oxidation and the mirror has some dark spots on it. There are a three small openings on the tube to the right of the support post that might mean that there is something missing; we don't know. This stands approx. 7.75" tall by 2.5" by 3. Bausch Lomb Glass Lab Specimen Slide Projector Cast Iron Medical Steam Punk Art
This is an early Bauch& Lomb electric medical lab specimen glass slide projector. It was originally used to show medical glass slides for lectures and instructional purposes. And labs. I am not sure of the age of this piece. But it appears to be circa 1920's. Featuring a great textured industrial black finished cast iron that is typical of the period and a very small(about an inch across) 10A-250v electrical plug marked H&H. There is a brass piece with a lens that is marked in fancy Gothic style script. Bauch& Lomb Optical co. Rochester,NY and 4mm 0.85N.A.and a triangular plaque on the base that once more states Bauch& Lomb Optical co. Rochester,NY, U.S.A. This piece has a few problems and is being sold as is. It has the original old siff cord and a small plugin. 1 bent retaining screw, 1 snapped off retaining screw, and ... moreI think it may be missing parts, but I do not actually know, because I have not been able to find out any information on this piece. I have not tested this piece to see if it works. It is thus being sold in"not in working order" condition and should not be considered as anything more than parts, steampunk art projects, or just as an awesome decorator piece. It does have a lot of wow factor and has that super cool retro 1920's art deco death ray look that has become so very popular these days. Overall length is approximately 11 inches. 9 inches tall. 7 inches wide We do not ship outside of the U.S. Priority Shipping with Insurance and tracking included $14.00 in the continental U.S. only. We do not ship to Post Office boxes or drop sites Mississippi Residents please add 7% sales tax. Payment must be received within three business days unless negotiated previous to sale. Antique Cast Iron Microscope - Germany 1369 cast in iron - 7" tall
Cast iron microscope 7" tall in handcrafted. Velvet lined wooden box( box has some scratches, and dings, good shape for it's age. May be older than the microscope. This item was found in my grandfathers attic. I have no idea of its worth, the plate that goes on the front of it had come off and the only markings on it are in the cast iron( Germany 1369) Lens has crack around the edge of it. No key for the wooden box. I am starting the bid at what I assume the worth of this item may be. If you have any information on this item I would appreciate an email. Antique Haupnter German Cast Iron Microscope Vintage Laboratory Science Lab
First let me be clear that even though this is probably the most beautiful microscope I have ever seen it does have two issues. 1- The eye piece is missing 2- the Brass lifting rack and pinion is worn and slips. It does work but in some spots needs some help lifting. Other than that this piece looks like it came out of an old movie. Antique Bausch & Lomb Microscope c.1920s - Cast Iron & Brass - 75x to 322x Power
You are bidding on a Bausch& Lomb Cast-Iron-and-Brass ANTIQUE MICROSCOPE c.1920s or Earlier* 75X and 322X Magnifications The photos included above WERE taken through this microscope. I purchased this from a lady in Westerly. RI, who told me it had belonged to her great uncle, who used it when he was a chemist back in the 1920s. My guess is it may be a 1915 model. What's Included in This Auction: Bausch& Lomb Microscope consisting of. 1 ocular: 7.5x- 2 objective lenses: 4mm(43x) and 16mm(10x) Coarse and fine focus knobs- 2-sided mirror- Iris diaphragm" Stage clips Q: Is anything else included with this auction? A: Only what appears in the photos is included. NO CASE. NO EXTRA LENSES. NADA. Condition Details- PLEASE READ! The microscope itself is tested and in fully-operational condition. I find nothing broken. Jammed, or"questionable. ... moreThe black enamel, as well as all the brass parts, have a"timeworn patina. Very nice. But this is NOT the shiny specimen some people might want for a museum. The iris is fully working. But very dusty. See photo. It simply needs to be removed from the microscope and properly cleaned. The stage clips have a lot of surface oxidation. And one of the original nuts has gone missing. See photo: As you see, I'll send you the one remaining stage clip nut, but there are 2 replacement nuts as well. They're metric- M3(5) knurled nuts, and they aren't the same shape as the originals, but they DO work. PLEASE supersize and examine all photos for carefully for condition detail. Important! RETURN POLICY and Shipping Loss/Damage I work hard to maintain Top-Rated eBay Seller status and 100% positive customer feedback by: a) offering quality vintage merchandise with honest descriptions. And(b) providing outstanding. Professional customer service. This item may be returned up to 14 days from purchase for either of two reasons: Dead on arrival: an item that is broken so it does not function. And the listing did not state this. Or- Significantly not as described: A
