Very handsome brass microscope housed in a nice looking dovetail mahogany case with purple velvet lining both the lid and part of the interior that seems to be original.The condition of the microscope seems to be near mint, with original lacquer still present. The mahogany case measures(27.5 cm/10.8” x 14.5 cm/5.7” x5.5 cm/2.2” With a brass carry handle on top and side-mounted slide locks. The original front lock is missing, but the front plate still remains. There is a small crack in the upper right corner of the case top. The bottom seems to have been covered with paper at one time and contains some cracks. One of the hinges has a stamped label, with what seems to be a registration number of–TPT0271641. Microscope ... moreThis is an unsigned brass microscope that is elegantly designed. Smoothly functional,and very well preserved, measuring roughly 24.5 cm(9.6 inches) tall in closed position, and 35.0 cm(13.8 inches) tall with the draw tube in extended position. There is a spring-loaded stage that accommodates sliders. The draw tube can be manually moved, and the coarse focus is rack and pinion, which works smoothly. The plano-concave mirror is in very good condition, and adjustable. Case Contents Slide Content List Included is a framed hand-written list of specimens for 6sliders. Which seems to be original. Some of the bone sliders have markings which seem to be corresponding to the list for numbers 1, 4-6. The 2 remaining slides are unmarked. Optical The optical system is in very good functional and cosmetic condition. The microscope draw tube is adjustable for magnification. The finish is pretty much complete original lacquered brass. Which seems to be in very good condition with only a few scratches. A fully functional and collectible 1950's compound microscope on a horse-shoe base by Steindorff. Berlin, West Germany, No. 580675, in very good condition. This is a fine example of post war German engineering and industrial design at its best. This microscope comes with two(2) good ocular or eyepiece lenses 5X and 10X. It has a nosepiece or turret with four(4) good revolving color coded(red, yellow, green, white) objective lenses. The adjustable stage is easy to adjust or control. It comes with an accessory under the stage, a diaphragm, that appears to be missing a lens? Antique Brass and Japanned Iron Compound Microscope made by the Bausch and Lomb Optical Company in Rochester. New York, U.S.A. around 1915. The number 8174 is stamped or engraved on the bottom of the eyepiece tube; on the top black plate which is screwed on says: Pat. Jan. 5, 1915. The Microscope has a 6.4 magnification lens or eyepiece, two knobs for raising or lowering the lens, an adjustable iris, and a double-sided reflector mirror. Note that there is a very small chip on the edge of one side of the reflector mirror and two tiny brown stains on the other side. Also, included are 3 Bausch& Lomb objective lenses: Two lenses are marked patented on Oct 13, 1925: 1) 16mm 0.025 10X” and, 2) 4mm 0.65 43X” the third one is marked“4mm 0.65 N.A. Also included are 10 assorted glass slides of which a few are chipped. The Microscope stands a little ... moreover 11 inches high when the lens is in its fully extended position and it rotates on its base to adjust the viewing angle. The Microscope is clean. Free of rust or corrosion, but does have some of the black paint worn away along the back of the stand. The brass has developed a warm golden patina. Both of the adjustable side-clips that hold the glass slides in place on its stage are attached. The Microscope appears to be in very good working condition. A fine cedar wood fitted box is also included in the sale. It was manufactured by the Eagle Lock Company. Terryville, Connecticut. The lock is stamped thus, including USA. The lock& its working key are in excellent condition. To open the box. Undo the latches, turn the key, and push the small round button to the side. Two Art Nouveau design latches secure the sides. Inside the box are compartments for 5 objective lenses, plus one for the eyepiece, as well as the footprint for the microscope itself. This auction is for a Ernst Leitz Wetzlar 212964 binocular monocular compound microscope cased extras. Circa 1922-1923- very good condition. some cleaning of the brass may be in order. Interchangeable body tubes(monocular& binocular) It comes with a original fitted wood care case. There are interchangeable nosepieces- a 3 lens& a 4-lens. There are only 2 objective lenses included. They are mounted on 3-lens(the short one is B& L) nosepiece which is currently on the microscope. The long one is a Leitz. The binocular head as a pair or Carl Zeiss Kiox mobimi eye piece occular lenses. There are 5 other eyepiece lenses in a slide out holder in the case. Only one is signed Zeiss. Others are#d. The serial number 212964 dates this to 1922-23, it is found on the monocular body tube. There are two extra(leitz) condensers. One is on a mounting(side) ... morebracket. All of the adlustments on this microscope work as they should. The black enamel finish is very good throughout- the brass will need some cleaning. Circa 1800's. ... moreThe body of the microscope is engraved with the maker's name, Powell& Lealand, London. We are not experts on antique microscopes but we will describe this as best as we can. This has a great brass body with the patina of many years of handling. It comes with an iron stand that has an adjustable table that uses a joystick type handle to position the platform. There are many places where this is adjustable. Or threaded areas to attach different lenses, etc. very complex construction for a time when transportation was by horse or possibly early steam engine railroad locomotive. We have not seen a date on it anywhere, but with photos available online, we estimate this as being from 1843-1848, a similar model identified on the Golub Collection website. The body with this unit is not attached to the stand at this time. You can see mounting holes on the stand and on the tube, which measures approx. 9¾" long with a lens in place. The stand stands approx. 12⅝ tall without the body in it, the platform measures approx 6" by 3¾" One of the mounting holes on the stand is compromised due to a bit of the metal being knocked away, but there

CHARLES BAKER COMPOUND MONOCULAR MICROSCOPE. CIRCA 1875- 1885 Charles Baker began his optical business in London about 1851. He published scientific catalogs that included his microscopes. His business was located on High Holborn street in London. He did not often use serial numbers and his instruments are not easy to date. This microscope has a brass tube body that is mounted in a brass sleeve attached to a rackwood and limb. Allowing the tube to go up and down. The extended brass tube when racked up is about 13 1/2" in height and when all the way down is about 10 1/2" The rack and pinion is horizontal which was usually manufactured prior to 1880. The fine focus adjustment is located on the side of the brass tube body. There is a single unmarked eyepiece. The stage has a"patterned" design and is moveable. There are no ... moreslide clips on the stage. Beneath the stage is a reflection mirror that measures 2" in diameter and does swivel as designed. The mirror itself has some hazy oxidation but still works well. The microscope is mounted on a trunnion to pivot and has a black"claw foot" base. The lacquered finish is in good condition. On the rear of the black base is signed" Baker, 244 High Holburn, London" The case is in good condition, has oak finish with green velvet interior. There is a brass handle and a lock but no key. The case measures 16 1/2" H x 8" W x 6" D. There is no objective with the microscope. The microscope and case weighs about 9 pounds. This microscope is still a great addition to any microscope collection. A great example of a Baker microscope!

ANTIQUE BRASS BAUSCH & LOMB COMPOUND MICROSCOPE, 1897,SERIAL #26518
Up for bid is an antique brass Bausch& Lomb compound monocular microscope with a black"horseshoe" base. The serial# on the base token says' 26518' which would date the item to 1897. There are no side clips on the stage. Underneath is an undamaged two-sided mirror with a diameter of 1 3/4. The mirror is on a gimbal attached to a swinging tailpiece. The draw tube measures app. 5 1/2" tall and there is a removable 1" eyepiece also marked" tube length 1600MM. There are 2 objectives with the microscope. Marked Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. 1/6. 82 NA and Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. marked 2/3. 25 NA. The focus is rack and pinion. Under the stage is a circular disc with four different size round holes and the disc rotates well. The brass shows age and is dusty. I have not cleaned it. It does not come with a ... morebox. A Fine Quality Continental Style( Heavy Brass) Microscope Made by Ross of London# 8248. believed to be.Circa 1900 to 1910! The Microscope is Very Heavy. It stands 14 inches Tall when fully extended. The" Horseshoe" Base is 6 inches by 4 inches. The Base is 5/8 of an inch thick. Amazing Piece for its Age! There is an extra lens( Para 1/2 inch) in a Plastic case( Marked Watsons' Parachromatic) This Microscope was found in the London. England area about 1954, and has been in a Local Estate since that time. In the same state as when it was found.never used by the Local Gentleman who acquired it) The Microscope is housed inside an Antique Leather Case with the Initials( T.H.M. on the front of the case. The Leather case measures 14 inches wide. 8 1/2 inches Tall, and 5 3/4 inches Deep. The Latch on the case works Well. Andrew Ross ... morewas born in 1798.
