You are bidding on an old. Victorian like, antique brass and glass miniature field microscope with fitted box. Microscope seems to be in good working ... moreorder. Retains its original finish. Nice uncleaned example. Glass is not broken and does move with the thumbscrew. Top of microscope expands up and down freely. Microscope has no maker identification on it, nor the box. I have seen other field microscopes similar that were made by"The Harvey Lewis Co. and other that were made in Germany. I am not sure if this one is either. There is a date inscribed on the inside of the box. 7/30/25. With the initials J.J.H. Also included is 1 prepared glass slide and 1 tweezer. The box has two clasps that hold it closed. There is a crack through the bottom side of the box. But it does affect the integrity. Microscope measures: expanded) 7 1/8" x 1 7/8 at the base Wood box measures: 7" X 2 3/4" X 2 1/8" Take home this great piece of early history. Will pack carefully. Offered here with no hidden reserve a Spencer Lens Co. microscope lens(I believe this is called an objective) in a brass canister. The canister is marked ... more16MM and has been expertly machined to house the lens it contains so that the glass at the end of the lens does not come in to contact with the bottom of the canister. The lens itself is marked Spencer Lens Co 41929. 4MMN AP.0.75. I would describe the condition of the piece as far as appearance goes as very good with expected fine scratches and nice patina. I have no way of knowing if the lens glass itself is functional but it appears to be unblemished. The overall approximate dimensions of the canister are: height- 1 3/4" diameter 1" top, 7/8" bottom. Please examine pictures and contact with any questions. Returns accepted within 3 days of receipt/inspection. Thanks for your interest.

Old Antique Brass and Glass Miniature Field Microscope with Wood Case
You are bidding on an old. Victorian like, antique brass and glass miniature field microscope with fitted box. Microscope seems to be in good working order. There is a crack through the bottom side of the box. But it does affect the integrity. Vnt Antique Bausch & Lomb Optical Co Brass Metal Slide Microscope Rochester N. Y
For your consideration from a smoke free estate. A truly wonderful piece of vintage optical equipment. I am going to do my best to describe this antique brass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has ... morea round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

It is unclear if either or both of these numbers are serial numbers or simply part numbers(see images) It is estimated that this instrument was most likely manufactured in circa 1886. Bausch& Lomb first introduced this model microscope in the year 1878. Just a few years after Ernst Gundlach joined the company as its chief optician and optical designer. Antique brass folding Bausch & Lomb portable microscope model BHP, full set
Offered for auction is a fine Bausch& Lomb portable microscope Model BHP S.N. 74484. Dating to 1908. This full research microscope is housed compactly in a 29 x 19 x 8 cm mahogany carrying case. It sets up by simply spreading the hinged base. Then swinging the stage 90 0 and locking it into place. The profile of this instrument features an integrated"jug handle" cut into the squared off limb. A design that became popular among some producers between ca. 1900 and 1920. This B&L"Portable Microscope Model BHP" has all the features and rigidity of their research stands. But in a convenient traveling form. Not many of these microscopes were produced, because their price was over two times the price of a regular B&L Model BH desk-top microscope. Reference: The Billings Collection catalogue: P. 127 No. AFIP 49447; ... morep. 118. Fig. 223. The original optics that come with this microscope are all signed by Carl Zeiss. The set even has the original Eder immesion oil in an original bottle fitting a special slot inside the case. The case is complete. The inner and outer condition is very good. The original brass lock is completely functional but the original key was missing when I bought the set. However, the microscope will be supplied with a modern fitted key that enables safe locking and unlocking of the case. This is an extremely well-preserved set of an early scientific instrument. Produced by one of the most respected American maker with optic made by the best German maker of the time. During the early 20th century, B&L and Carl Zeiss formed a partnership hence the combined features of this microscope. This is a rare item in excellent condition that will suit every serious collection. I list it with low starting bid and no reserve. Please note: This is a private listing. I will not sell it outside eBay. Please don't address me with such requests. Please note: The accompanying array of images of the microscope and its Mahogany case taken from various angles are a part of this statement

NACHET ET FILS ANTIQUE BRASS MICROSCOPE RARE ANTIQUE EXAMPLE BRASS
I state first- I am up and don't really live or sleep on the sale of this item but it is a sweet microscope so control the nerdgasim. As far as I can see its all there- see the pictures for yourself- no cleaning in decades. I didn't look through it but all looks well on the piece- the box fits the microscope perfect and the brass shines like the first day of summer. so this is what I know about the piece. It is a NACHET ET FILS OF Paris Antique circa 1870 brass compound Microscope that is roughly 150 years old- give or take a decade. This is kinda a big deal as you are invited to purchase a very fine antique brass compound monocular microscope by Nachet et Fils of Paris along with a very nicely appointed Mahogany case that houses the instrument and accompanying parts- as far as I can see all parts. It is a Nachet’s“Petit Modele Droit” ... moreSmall Vertical Model) compound monocular microscope by best estimate. This is signed on the top rear of the solid brass foot. NACHET ET FILS, 17 Rue St. Severin, Paris. see photo)The microscope seems in exceptional shape- see photos. The address allows us to date the instrument to circa 1870. NOTE: For more details on the history of the Nachet product just search- this is a deal- if you look up things like"brass microscope" or“Maison Nachet et Fils Fabrique” tell me I am wrong- walk in a store that deals in vintage microscopes and leave with something like this for less than 2 grand- seriously- I move product- they will have a romantic involvement with this nerd focuser. So how do I put it- this thing is complete- all parts are there(see pictures) and there are a small window of these things existing. $799 plus $25 shipping and its out the door- a hell of a deal- I wish more people would appreciate the importance of this pieces.

ANTIQUE BAUSCH & LOMB OPTICAL CO. SOLID BRASS MICROSCOPE - Pat. Date 2/16/1897
The item up for sale in this auction is a Bausch& Lomb Optical Company Microscope. There is a patent date of February 2nd. 1897 on the micro focus adjustment wheel. I tested all of the lenses using a piece of paper with writing on it, each lens was able to get a fairly clear picture. The mirror does have some blemishes on it and some appear to be permanent. The frame of the microscope is all brass and is in pretty good shape. There is definitely some wear and tarnish on it but nothing major. I can't find any missing pieces and everything appears to be in really good working condition. The microscope will be shipped out in a wooden case along with a box of about a dozen glass slides. I don't think the case is original, but somebody obviously made it specifically for the microscope, so it should go with it. If you have any questions, ... moreI'll be happy to answer them. Large Double Pillar Antique, Brass Microscope – Signed G. Potter
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Beautiful Double Pillar Antique. Brass Microscope* With Engraved Signature(G. Potter) on the Scope* Stands about 19 inches high. And is fairly heavy(base appears to be iron) Please read the description in full. Review all photos and ask all questions prior to bidding. Happy to provide addition photos if requested. This is an antique. Likely over 100 years old(1800’s) so there is some minor wear commensurate with age. I have provided key conditional notes based on my review of the visuals and mechanics. Overall. A very nice presentation piece. It is solid with a really neat. Functioning two-way mechanical stage. When I purchased this a couple months ago. It was covered in very stubborn layers of dust, grime and dirt. I correctly assumed that there was a beautiful microscope ... moreunderneath. The two knobs allow the stage to move fairly smoothly from side-to-side. And up and down. Although the knob that would otherwise adjust the scope/ tube is missing(see hole shown in photos near the Potter signature) It can be fairly easily slid manually(i.e. might be better as a presentation piece than a fully functioning microscope) The optics are not perfect. But in the highest position of the scope, you can view slides(but with limited range of adjustment) There is a screw missing from the pole that holds the mirror. But everything still holds sturdy. I also fully disassembled and cleaned with premium quality polish. Which took about six hours. The decision to polish an antique is a challenge and personal preference. Ideally. I like to avoid polishing, but in this case the original patina was too far gone. My purpose for buying this item was curiosity of what was under all that grime. The real benefit and fun of polishing something like this is revealing the neat scope in close to what it would have looked like in its original state over 100 years ago. Antique 19C Ross London #263 Brass/Black Microscope Objective/Lenses/Case
19th Century Ross of London#263 Microscope This piece is SO strange. The part on the top is the only piece that is marked Ross London#263 The lense down by the platform is marked Bausch& Lomb and the extra lense in the case is marked Spencer. So.I truly have no idea which one of these people made this microscope because I cannot find a mark on the scope itself. All of the parts that are marked are removable. This is how I purchased it. So this is how I'm selling it. Microscope stands about 13" tall at the shortest level. And extends to about 17" tall. There is a screw missing from the brass plate in the front of the platform. You get everything in the photos. Because I have no idea who made this or what the parts are. I have no idea the value, but I'm sure you do. If my price is to high, make me an offer. I'm cleaning ... moreout alot of items and they will be priced to sell. I'm ready to sell this so lets negotiate! FREE SHIPPING!

Antique brass early achromatic microscope by Chevalier in pristine condition
Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique early achromatic Pritchard-form"transitional" brass microscope in pristine condition. Made in ~1840 by the renowned Parisian workshop of Charles Chevalier(1804-1859) The microscope comes with the original mahogany case. Bull's eye condenser, tweezers and a set of early French-made slides mounted by the Bourgogne Brothers. History: This early achromatic microscope is mounted on a brass pillar with a compass joint that directly connects the support pillar to the limb of the microscope. This design is one known as the"Pritchard form" Which developed directly from the"Jones Most Improved" type of the late 18th century. During the period around 1830-1840 the English microscope was ... moreundergoing a rapid evolution from the non-achromatic instruments to the achromatic microscopes that became more common within the second quarter of the 19th century. During this evolutionary period, some of the microscopes that were produced are often now referred to as"transitional" that is, they represent a design that is midway between the older and newer forms. The microscope shown here is clearly one of these. Several early microscope manufacturers used this mounting method, including Andrew Ross, Andrew Prichard, and James Parkes& Son in England and Vincent and Charles Chevalier in France. In Andrew Prichard's Catalogue of Microscopes and the Jewel and Doublet Microscope extracted from his publication entitled, The Microscopic Cabinet of Selected Animated Objects" Similar mounting to that of the instrument featured here appears. The microscope is entirely mobile. It collapses into the compact mahogany case together with the usual accessories and can be carried easily. Although microscopes of this type are invariably unsigned. They are commonly attributed to the workshop of Charles Chevalier(1804-1859) The last photo presents a page from the sales cat

Antique brass single to triple lens 18th century compass microscope
Due to some new priorities that I set. I clear now a section of my collection of antique field microscopes in favor of other models. Between June and August 2013 I will gradually list some high end single and compound microscopes, ranging between the 2 nd half of the 17 th. The 18 th. And the early 19 th centuries. If you are a serious collector. Please follow my lists. I will neither provide BIN prices nor sell outside of eBay, so please avoid addressing me with such requests. Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique"compass microscope" Probably dating to the late 18 th century. The microscope is unsigned. It comes with one integral lens and two additional stacking button lenses. Providing altogether relatively very high magnification estimated ... moreat ~100X. The special specimen holder having the three prongs is paralleled by item R.M.S. No. 21 reviewed in Gerard Turner's book The Great Age of the Microscope. However. The model depicted there is different. The microscope has a nice ebony lacquered handle. But otherwise the finishing seems to be somewhat cruder than the usual for these. The case or etui that presumably accompanied it is missing. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared payment. Antique Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Solid Brass Microscope SN #26739 ~ Circa 1897
Up for auction(sale) is a Vintage Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Brass Microscope My clients husband found this microscope in the remains of an old building and cleaned it up very well. Most all the adjustable parts move. Though some are a little harder than others. It is missing 1 of the 3 magnifying lenses that can rotate to any one of the 3 positions. It may be missing other parts that I don't know about. The eye piece does not appear to be the proper one for this scope, but does fit in the chamber. The mirror at the base does have blemishes on both sides. It has many more options than some of the other scopes that I have found from this era. It has 2 patent dates that I can find, one from Feb 1897& one from Aug. 1897. We do have a letter that was written to Bausch& Lomb to find out more information about the microscope. They ... moresent a reply which stated that they do not know to whom it was sold to, but it is circa 1897. The serial number is on the base#26739. It is 14 1/2" Tall x 6" Deep x 4 1/4" Wide I was unable to really see anything as I didn't have the knowledge or the material to test. I'm sure that it does need some restoration. Though it is a great looking decorative piece as it sits. This is the condition it has been in for many years and I did not attempt to polish or take apart to clean. If you would like more pictures please let me know I will ship this scope FREE in the Continental United States PayPal only please If you have any questions please ask I strive for 100% approval so if you have any issues please contact me before leaving feedback I will do returns in special situations Thanks for checking out my items. Many more to come in the future

Antique brass case-mounted aquatic / botanical microscope, early 19th century
Due to some new priorities I clear now a section of my collection of antique field microscopes in favor of other models. Between June and August 2013 I will gradually list some high end single and compound microscopes. All dating to the 2 nd half of the 17 th. The 18 th. And the early 19 th centuries. If you are a serious collector. Please follow my lists. I will neither provide BIN prices nor sell outside of eBay, so please avoid addressing me with such requests. Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique brass case-mounted Ellis-styled aquatic/ botanical microscope. Dating to the first half of the 19 th century. The microscope is unsigned. Yet several features clearly assign it to France. It is very unique in terms of design, having two separate and ... moreparallel stands, one for the microscope and the other for the sample holder. This microscope features a variation on the theme of the"Ellis aquatic microscope" It collapses into the 15 x 9.3 x 5 cm mahogany case. Internally lined with red velvet. When mounted, the body tube is 9.5 cm long rising altogether(with the case) to 14.5 cm. Both the microscope and the parallel sample holder stem screw into two brass sockets at the top of the case. The microscope stage is sliding along the column for focusing. Below it. A 2.8 cm diameter single sided mirror is mounted on a typically French 8 shaped bracket screwed to the column(see the discussion here regarding this style) The original accessories include three lenses with different magnifications. A glass stage disk with a polished depression for observing pond fauna and flora in aquatic samples, brass tweezers, and a special mounting wrench for the rater primitive stage forceps. he microscope, its accessories, and the mahogany case are all in very good overall condition. It dates to the first half of the 19 th century. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared payment,
