Look at the slide adjustment and how well machined and precise it is. This was likely a top of the line instrument in the day. The lot is quite heavy weighing in at 23 lbs. The case measures 16.5" by 10" by 10.5". The reflection mirror is 2 sided and the bottom coating is peeling as pictured. There are scuffs on the wooden case and a crack on the front door as pictured. There is no key to properly lock and shut tte door though it looks like finding a key would not be terribly difficult. Sold as a collector's item.

One has the original black metal coating(vintage circa 1909) the other(vintage circa 1906) has been partially stripped down to the original brass. The part on the top is the only piece that is marked Ross London#263 The lense down by the platform is marked Bausch& Lomb and the extra lense in the case is marked Spencer. So.I truly have no idea which one of these people made this microscope because I cannot find a mark on the scope itself. All of the parts that are marked are removable. This is how I purchased it. So this is how I'm selling it. Microscope stands about 13" tall at the shortest level. And extends to about 17" tall. There is a screw missing from the brass plate in the front of the platform. 1860's Henry Crouch Microscope Objective (Lens) & Brass Lens Cannister
This is an antique brass Henry Crouch microscope lens(objective) in a lovely brass cannister with old-style script writing on the top and numerals on the bottom. The lens fits perfectly inside the brass case and I am told it dates to possibly the 1860's. 1in- H. Crouch London" is engraved on the lid of the cylindrical case. On the bottom of the case is engraved a number 1 over number 5. The lens is approximately 3/4" in diameter at the threads. Length is approximately 1 11/16" from end to end. This is an antique Henry Crouch brass microscope lens(objective) in a lovely brass cannister with old-style script writing on the top and numerals on the bottom. Circa 1860's or 70's. 1in- H. Crouch London" is engraved on the lid of the cylindrical case. The bottom of the case is engraved a number 1 over number 5. The lens is approximately 3/4" in diameter at the threads. Length is approximately 1 11/16" from end to end. The case is approximately 1 9/16" high and the diameter is 1 1/8" The brass cap is threaded and fits nicely.
