You are bidding on an old. Victorian like, antique brass and glass miniature field microscope with fitted box. Microscope seems to be in good working ... moreorder. Retains its original finish. Nice uncleaned example. Glass is not broken and does move with the thumbscrew. Top of microscope expands up and down freely. Microscope has no maker identification on it, nor the box. I have seen other field microscopes similar that were made by"The Harvey Lewis Co. and other that were made in Germany. I am not sure if this one is either. There is a date inscribed on the inside of the box. 7/30/25. With the initials J.J.H. Also included is 1 prepared glass slide and 1 tweezer. The box has two clasps that hold it closed. There is a crack through the bottom side of the box. But it does affect the integrity. Microscope measures: expanded) 7 1/8" x 1 7/8 at the base Wood box measures: 7" X 2 3/4" X 2 1/8" Take home this great piece of early history. Will pack carefully. Shipping through USPS Priority Mail. BUYER TO PAY SHIPPING.I DO NOT SHIP INTERNATIONALLY.GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING! PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY LEAVE FEEDBACK ONCE IT IS RECEIVED ON MY END FIRST. THIS IS JUST TO ENSURE YOUR ITEM HAS ARRIVED AND YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH IT. THANKS!

Pocket Microscope with Wooden Case and Sample Plates. Made in the Early 20th Century. In Curious pocket microscope for field work. In good condition and perfect working order. This article was manufactured in the early 20th century and serves the same purpose as a standard microscope: it magnifies the samples so the user can view them perfectly. Its magnification is not as high as standard microscopes’ one, but even so it provides a great view quality and the samples can be greatly watched. The microscope comes with a series of vintage sample plates; these plates can be stored in the original wooden case which preserves the metal lock and the grooved compartments that hold the plates. The instrument is small in size and boasts a compact design. It is cylindrical and made of metal. With black enameled body and silvery mobile parts. It is very ... moreeasy to manipulate: the sample plates must be introduced into the groove so the user can view them through the eyepiece. This microscope works really well and provides an excellent performance. As stated before. The instrument comes into a box made of solid beech wood. Inside there are six sample plates with handwritten paper labels. The plates are held by two grooved wooden pieces located at both sides of the box. Just over them we can see a compartment designed to store the microscope so the user can carry the set everywhere comfortably, withouth fearing to lose any of its components. This amazing and curious pocket microscope will be a real find for any lover of vintage scientific devices. Measurements: Microscope: Width: 1 in/2.7 cm. Height: 2.5 in/6.5 cm. Case(open) Width: 2.9 in/7.5 cm. Height: 3.8 in/9.8 cm. I think I left nothing in the description but if I forgot something. I'll be glad to answer any questions. Bid with confidence. Here is a lot of antique scientific field instruments. I'm not exactly sure what they were all used for. There is one that is a pocket brass microscope for looking at slides. The other brass piece looks to be for the eyepiece of an early field microscope. Then there is another metal piece with tripod legs that I think was for using a magnifying lens. But the lens is not there. Then there is a little magnifying glass with clip for attaching to table and last is a little glass cup that has some a little magnifying lens on the end of it. Interesting lot, brass pieces measure approx. 1 13/16" in length.
Antique Handheld Pocket Sized Microscope With Wooden Box Brass 1900s 6 x 1 inch There are signs of wear on this microscope but given the age. It looks great. The brass is still shiny and the overall physical condition is good with no signs of damage or misuse. There are marks and scratches/scuffs around the outside of the microscope that are shown in the pictures, but nothing that renders the item useless. These marks are either from wear or from tarnishing or both. This includes the box as well, to store and carry the microscope when not in use. It is wooden and is closable by means of hinges. For sale I have a truly antique brass pocket folding microscope/ loupe. Historically these were carried into the field to examine small specimens of insects or any thing diminutive. Folded it measures 1 and 1/8 by 3/4 inches. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE HE Offered for auction is a nice botanical pocket single microscope ca. 1820. This microscope consists of a tubular stem. Which screws firmly into the lid of the case wherein the instrument is packed when not in use. The three lenses supply a range of magnifications from about five to forty times. No mirror is attached and focusing was made simply by sliding the stage holder over the stem. Later models. Probably of the ~1830-40s, were equipped with mirrors. This instrument is adapted for the examination of botanical specimens, small insects or their parts, mineral crystals, pond life, or for the preparation of samples and for dissection. It is a simple version based on the Cuff and Ellis design of the“Botanical” or“Aquatic” microscopes and on the Gould type simple and compound microscope. Condition ... moreis good as seen in the photos. The case lid has a crack which can be seen in the photos. It doesn't effect the visual beauty or the functionality of the instrument. SHIPPING The microscope in its case will be wrapped very carefully and shipped promptly(usually the same day) after receiving cleared payment. Signed for and with tracking number. Please note, s hipping will be made by express mailing service(EMS) Hence it is expected to arrive within five working days. HOWEVER. Sometimes items are held by the customs for longer periods of time. You will be provided with the tracking number to follow the item. Antique JJ Bausch Excelsior 1874 pocket and dissecting microscope Serial# 14 RARE! This is an extremely rare low serial numbered model. SERIAL# 14. I believe there may be a few missing parts lost over time. The microscope shows nice patina and age appropriate wear and also has a name of a previous owner lightly carved into the wood case(top and side with name“Tarbox” There is a chip out of the top side portion of the box as can be seen in the photos and the wood box shows some age cracks here and there as appropriate for the age of this antique scientific instrument. Please see photos for item description. This is one of a few of the earliest production models known to exist as the serial number is 14. The other known early serial numbered examples appear to be in Harvard and Yale University collections and museums. This would be a showpiece ... moreof any prominent antique microscope collection or museum exhibit.
