Some of the black paint has rubbed off in spots. See pictures. Microscope has 3 optics. 1.9 mm, 1.6 mm, 4mm It is cast black and brass. The top eye piece says, 136478 It also come with a frosted glass stopper bottle. Not sure what liquid it held. Please see pictures and ask all questions you have. You are bidding on a fine heavy vintage brass Bausch and Lomb microscope having a patent date of 1915. The company began in 1853 in Rochester. New York and became a leading manufacturer of high quality optical equipment. The microscope comes with the following: three objective lenses in 1.9 mm. 4 mm and 16 mm sizes revolving nosepiece two eyepieces: 5X and 10X blue glass disc dark ground stop metal cases for the three objectives 40-page Use and Care booklet by Edward Bausch. With diagrams and instructions original wooden case and case key The case has nice finger joint construction. A heavy duty metal handle, and two sliding removable drawers which hold additional equipment and parts. The microscope measures approximately 12.5 inches tall. 5.5 inches wide and 6.5 inches front to back. The brass knobs and other fittings have a nice patina. ... morePlease note that the reflecting mirror is missing. The Microscope has a 6.4 magnification lens or eyepiece, two knobs for raising or lowering the lens, an adjustable iris, and a double-sided reflector mirror. Note that there is a very small chip on the edge of one side of the reflector mirror and two tiny brown stains on the other side. Also, included are 3 Bausch& Lomb objective lenses: Two lenses are marked patented on Oct 13, 1925: 1) 16mm 0.025 10X” and, 2) 4mm 0.65 43X” the third one is marked“4mm 0.65 N.A. Also included are 10 assorted glass slides of which a few are chipped. Inside the box are compartments for 5 objective lenses, plus one for the eyepiece, as well as the footprint for the microscope itself. Many of the interior surfaces are lined with brown felt and a blue sponge cushion is on the interior lid to protect the eyepiece. On the right side of the outside of the box is a black iron handle. A beautiful brass microscope made by Bausch& Lomb Optical of Rochester. NY. Patent date is Jan 5, 1915. The three objective lenses are 1.9mm, 4mm, and 16mm. There is also a metal box with a glass pipette and some other items, and slots with black cases that I believe are for holding the lenses. Has a 16mm. 4mm, 1.9mm lenses, Includes a partially filled bottle of cedar oil, a blue lens, 2 eyepieces- 5& 10. Microscope stands 11 3/4. I don’t have any slides but light goes through. double sided mirror. Condition- everything seems to work as it is suppose to. Has been lightly cleaned. I didn’t find any missing or broken pieces. It will need a deep cleaning. I didn’t want to risk improper cleaning. Lenses have there cases. The case- when I found it, the box was locked with no key. After all attempts, I had to remove the back and some of the felted supports. It is missing the back of the box- I thought I had it but I can’t find it. This auction is for a well preserved Bausch& Lomb brass and black painted iron microscope. It has a few small marks and imperfections. But it is in generally shiny and new condition. It has the choice of two objectives and two different eyepieces. There is a blue glass piece and an extra set of slide holders. They come in a fitted box with a small plastic cover for the microscope. Brass microscope made for Temple University in 1915#82. it comes with is original 1915 handmade box which is nicely dovetailed together. It is fastened with a pivoting handle at the top. A lock which has a key and does work, a mount on the bottom to hold the microscope, and original wood sliding holders at the top. Glass Slide, 2 Eyepieces, and 3 Lenses, all in Excellent cosmetic and working condition! Patent date on it is 1908. Serial# search(108174) suggests it was made in 1915. No damage or scratches.amazing condition! The back of the case has 1 small chip out of the top corner(see closeup) Eyepieces are#5 and#10. Lenses include: 4mm 0.85 16mm 0.25 48mm 0.08. FULLY FUNCTIONAL ANTIQUE 1915 BAUSCH& LOMB MODEL 112936 MICROSCOPE WITH THREE OBJECTIVES& SWIFT LOCKING WOODEN CASE This Bausch& Lomb Antique Microscope appears to be fully functional. It has three objectives. A working aperture under the bed. Firm but easy movement in all parts. The eyepiece is of course included. The solid dovetail wooden case is by the Swift corporation and comes with two keys. This microscope is in exceptional condition!
