Microscope Made by E. Leitz Wetlzar w ith Wooden Case and extra lenses. German microscope from the early 20th century or earlier. Made by prestigious optic material manufacturer E. Leitz Wetlzar. This nice instrument comes in its original wooden case wi th extra l enses. The microscope is made of golden brass and silvery metal. The brass pieces show slight signs of wear due to the trace of time. The company that made this microscope. E. Leitz Wetzlar, was founded in 1849 by Karl Kellner in Wetzlar(Germany) In the beginning it manufactured mainly telescopes and was called Optical Institute of Wetlzar. When the firm started producing microscopes, Kellner hired engineer Ernst Leitz, who soon became a partner. In 1869 Leitz acquired the company and named it Ernst Leitz Optical Institute. The brand became one of the most important optical manufacturers ... morein the world and many of its models are still produced nowadays. This beautiful microscope is a good example of E. Leitz Wetzlar instruments’ quality. The case is a beautiful wood(think it is walnut) consruction with a brass handle- Plate on top is marked"Noyes Bros. Cutler St. Paul Minn" Case is 14inches tall(basic scope is just over 12inches tall and 4inches wide) 9inches deep and 7inches wide-overall very nice condition It is surely a striking piece for any nostalgic lover of scientific instruments from the early 20th centur y OR later 19th century-sorry I don't know more about this super colle ct ors piece. Complete Brass Microscope in its Original Wooden Case. Great Britain. 1860. In Working Order Antique unsigned brass microscope made in Great Britain circa 1860. This is a beautiful device that works perfectly and comes in its original light wooden case. The microscope keeps all its original parts. And the objectives and magnifying glass are in excellent condition. The brass is as shiny as when the instrument was made, showing only very slight signs of the trace of time that just enhance its elegant presence. Inside the wooden box we also find a series of accessories and samples that together with the microscope make up a highly attractive set. The microscope stands on a light wooden plank and is supported by two solid black-enameled legs. This lovely article comes with an independent magnifying glass to concentrate light attached to a slim ... morestand. Also made of brass. The whole set boasts a stylized and singularly balanced design that differentiates it from the classical vintage microscopes we are used to see. The item has an objective and the typical oscillating mirror located under the sample plate; both pieces are in perfect condition. The original box designed to store the instrument is made of light colored wood. It keeps the metal handle attached to its top and at the bottom it has a small drawer containing the sample plates. The ones that come with this microscope are from the time when the instrument was made and keep different elements to be observed. At the top right corner of the box. A wooden stand with two circular openings holds the cylindrical metal cases designed to protect objectives. This magnificent microscope is surely a highly interesting piece because of its ancient age and original design. It is surely an article worthy of belonging to a museum of scientific devices from the 19th century. Measurements: Width: 170 mm. Height: 310 mm. I think I left nothing in the description but if I forgot something. I'll be glad to answer any questions. Bid with confidence. We are professional antique de

You are bidding on one lot of one old microscope by Leitz Wetzlar. This has a serial number of 110262 probably dating it to the early 1900s. I do not know much about microscopes personally. But everything seems to move smoothly, including the focus and fine focus, The turret, and the mirror assembly. It tilts back fine as well. There is a lens up top marked 3. And then another lens top without the barrel marked 4. It has a three lens turret but only two are in use. One is a Leitz Wetzlar 3 and the other is a Spencer 4MM 44X. There is an extra Bausch& Lomb 16MM 10X lens but it does not fit. There is a double sided mirror, the looks in good condition, and another assembly with an aperture that swings back and forth under the slide table. There is also another aperture under the slide table that opens and closes with a lever. Has a heavy ... morecast iron base and looks like brass knobs and a brass finish to the main barrel. This item seems well used and has its fair share of scuffs and scratches. Along with finish wear in a number of places. Also comes with a custom E. Leitz Wetzlar wooden case. It has a lock but no key. It is in very good sturdy condition but has scuffs and scratches from use. Overall a neat old microscope that needs a detailed cleaning and maybe a bit or restoration to look its best. Please email me with any questions prior to bidding. The accompanying photo is of the actual lot you are bidding on. I accept PayPal only at this time. Goods usually shipped the next postal day after payment received(except Saturdays. Pocket Microscope with Wooden Case and Sample Plates. Made in the Early 20th Century. In Curious pocket microscope for field work. In good condition and perfect working order. This article was manufactured in the early 20th century and serves the same purpose as a standard microscope: it magnifies the samples so the user can view them perfectly. Its magnification is not as high as standard microscopes’ one, but even so it provides a great view quality and the samples can be greatly watched. The microscope comes with a series of vintage sample plates; these plates can be stored in the original wooden case which preserves the metal lock and the grooved compartments that hold the plates. The instrument is small in size and boasts a compact design. It is cylindrical and made of metal. With black enameled body and silvery mobile parts. It is very ... moreeasy to manipulate: the sample plates must be introduced into the groove so the user can view them through the eyepiece. This microscope works really well and provides an excellent performance. As stated before. The instrument comes into a box made of solid beech wood. Inside there are six sample plates with handwritten paper labels. The plates are held by two grooved wooden pieces located at both sides of the box. Just over them we can see a compartment designed to store the microscope so the user can carry the set everywhere comfortably, withouth fearing to lose any of its components. This amazing and curious pocket microscope will be a real find for any lover of vintage scientific devices. Measurements: Microscope: Width: 1 in/2.7 cm. Height: 2.5 in/6.5 cm. Case(open) Width: 2.9 in/7.5 cm. Height: 3.8 in/9.8 cm. I think I left nothing in the description but if I forgot something. I'll be glad to answer any questions. Bid with confidence. This microscope is brass& iron comes with wooden box. It measures 8 1/2" tall down and 9 1/2" high extended. The base measures 4" by 2 3/4" I think the scope part is brass as a magnet will not stick but it does show some finish loss. The base is iron with a gold finish. It seems to work but the lens needs cleaning. The only markings are a number 160 on the back of the brass knob. I think this is French but not sure.

Antique Handheld Pocket Sized Microscope With Wooden Box Brass 1900s 6 x 1 inch There are signs of wear on this microscope but given the age. It looks great. The brass is still shiny and the overall physical condition is good with no signs of damage or misuse. There are marks and scratches/scuffs around the outside of the microscope that are shown in the pictures, but nothing that renders the item useless. These marks are either from wear or from tarnishing or both. This includes the box as well, to store and carry the microscope when not in use. It is wooden and is closable by means of hinges. Circa 1900's- 1920's Antique Laboratory Microscope Empty Wooden Box Original Brass Hardware handle. Plates, etc. LEVITT- FERGUSON COMPANY. Laboratory Supplies, Baltimore, MD Plate"N 796" This listing is for an old wooden empty microscope box with its original maker's plate. It was acquired from the former owner's daughter who told me her dad was a scientist. This was his laboratory microscope box, and she was liquidating his estate. Box measures 13.75" tall by 8.25" by 6.5" It is being sold"as is" as was found for someone w ho collects old laboratory- scientific- microscope items. What makes this wooden box unique is that it still has its original Levitt-Ferguson Company plate on the top. I did not find any others by this maker for sale on line right now. I tried to find information about ... morethis maker but it was limited. I found a mention of the President making a speech in the 1920's and this address: 523 N. Eutaw Street. Baltimore, MD. This wooden box is not dated. I estimate it is circa early 1900's-1920's. I took photos from all sides so you can be sur e you are ok with condition and quality before buying. Patina outside finish has marks in various places. Rub and scuff, scratches, dings, remains of paper label, etc. There are two small holes in front door at bottom and along side. Front door has lock, no key. Metal hardware has wear and discoloration as you can see in the photos. It is not possible for me to say all about an item like this so please view photos as they are considered part of the description. Wooden box needs some TLC but when you are done, you will have an original with maker's plate Levitt-Ferguson Company for your collection. Item is being sold“as is” as was found. Very large antique Microscope case measuring 16 1/2" tall by 14 1/2" wide and 8 1/2" deep. The wood appears to be mahogany and it clearly was a production case. Fancy hardware on the pulls and hinges suggest pre 1940's. The handle on top as well as two pulls mounted on the front are clearly later. The inside support for the top handle is Japanned copper again suggesting pre 1940's construction. Below the drawers is a swinging vial holder that easily lifts out but has a round bottom so its not something you could set on a tabletop.
