It has a nosepiece or turret with four(4) good revolving color coded(red, yellow, green, white) objective lenses. The adjustable stage is easy to adjust or control. 0 0 1 473 2701 The Associated Press 22 6 3168 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This is a very interesting estate sale find. And it is in remarkably good condition. The black box contains 50“Microscopical Preparations” slides, including diatoms of various things like“The Tongue of a Snail, or"The Abdomen of a Bee. The best I’ve been able to determine, these slides became popular in the mid-1800s, and had something of a heyday in the 1880s or so. The case is in very good condition. Though i t has some scuffs- included in photos. The two front hook latches close into a circular catch. It says“Microscopical Preparations” and Hensoldt/Wetzlar/Germany with the Wetzlar logo. It also says Hensoldt/Wetzlar/Germany on the right side of all the slides. Some of the slides have a black circle encasing the specimen and others have a ... moreraised top over the specimen. Hensoldt is a German microscope maker. I have seen some slides online with“M. Hensoldt” on it. With the same sort of paper, dated to about 1880 or so. These slides without the“M. for Moritz, the founder) may be a little later, though they use the same paper and style, so my guess is that they are of that same era. One of the few mentions I found during my research of the Hensoldt slides indicated that a famous British slide-preparer had actually purchased his slides from M. Hensoldt. Took the Hensoldt papers off of them, and then put his own name on them to sell mostly because of the maker's products superior quality. I say 50 slides– but there is actually one of them that appears to be a blank without a specimen on it. None of them appear to be cracked or chipped. I have attached a list of what is written on each slide- the best that I could determine– the writing on them is very nice. But it is also very small! 1. Wing of Butterfly. Alla popilioris 2. Clapergillus glaricus 3. Spinning of caterpillar. Bombyn mori 4. Petalum cumpilis snellatin. Dcutvia 5. Crystals in cello. Allium sativum 6. Pollen pini 7. Sting of wasp. Aculeus vaspae 8

For auction is a rare antique German compound microscope by Schutz. This is a very interesting piece that appears to be made from brass and iron(steel) it is labeled Schutz A.G. Cassel 19595 D.R.G.M. i have read that the acronym stands for"Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster" or"German Reich Registered Design" in English. This piece is pre WWII and most likely from the first quarter of the 20th century. It is very well designed and made to a high degree or quality like the Zeiss and leitz microscopes of the period. It stands around 11" tall and is quite heavy for its size. The overall condition is good for its age(1912) it dose need to be polished but iam not willing to do that winning bidder may want this in its original condition. Some pieces may be missing i do not know what originally came with this set but everything ... moremoves as it should.Thank you for looking and good luck bidding. you are bidding on a Vintage microscope by E. Leitz Wetzlar good condition. Made in germany in the 1920s. No. 273167, w/ metal horse shoe style base. It comes with 6x&10x eyepieces and it is equipped with 10x-45x-100x magnifying lenses. It includes 4 metal conainers- 1/12 oel immersion, a#3 container, a#6L container and cedern-oel container. The cedern container is seized close and feels heavy, There may be a objective inside. It looks as if someone has used pliers or something to try to force open as container has some gauge marks on outside. I can not open with hands, I’m not sure if it can be opened again. There are two boxes full of glass slides, cleaning cloth and an empty eye dropper. It all comes inside original wooden box that is pretty beat up but still intact. The old key and lock still function. The box has a storage compartment ... morew/ lid and two racks to hold eyepieces and containers. Inside on door is original microscope documentation and pamphlets. It is missing a clip that holds slide in place. There is some corrosion on the shinny brass in several parts, this is surface damage that affects color of brass. All the metal is solid, lenses move freely and focus mechanisms work correctly. These have been used and have some scuffs and scratches but no major damage. They would be nice for lab use, collector or good for decoration in your den or lab. An antique"Argus Nr. 606" Brass Microscope. 6 3/4" high, made in Germany and housed in its original wood box, 2 3/4" x 8 9/16" x 2 1/2" high, with original hook closures. There's a paper label inside the box with some information but I don't see any maker's mark on the Microscope. GERMANY" is impressed into the 2" diameter iron base. The top section can be adjusted up and down and can also be removed from the bottom section. Condition. In good condition overall. I didn't polish the brass but left it as found. The surface of the adjustable mirror is in good condition with some oxidation across the middle section that doesn't seem to interfere with reflecting light into the Microscope. The top and bottom glass lenses are in good condition with no scratches. There is an old short closed ... morecrack in the bottom section of the brass band above the section that holds the slide that can be seen in one of the side view photos of the Microscope(as the Microscope front faces to the right) This part doesn't hold the top section in place so it doesn't affect the use of the Microscope in any way. This vintage CARL ZEISS microscope was manufactured around 1950 in Germany. This instrument is 11 1/2-inches high and sits on a round 6 1/4-inch base. It was designed to check the quality if lenses for eyeglasses/spectacles after manufacture. It comes equipped with a built-in. Working illumination system. The adjustment that controls the 8-inch horizontal plate is calibrated in millimeters. When viewing, the image has cross-hairs superimposed on a 0 to 180-degree semi-circular scale. With the light turned on, a circle of small green dots sits on top of the center of the cross-hairs, and a small illuminated circle appears with another scale from 0 to +25 and 0 to-25. The larger adjustment controls the focus and the illuminated circle setting. The smaller adjustment turns the circle scale on and off. When the green circle of dots is sharp, ... morethe circle scale reads zero. Its manufacturing plate is stamped"CARL ZEISS 312576 GERMANY. This instrument is in very good condition; there are no dents, cracks or repairs to the body and the knurled rings are without damage. The optics are sharp for the images I described, but I have no way of testing it with a lens(see all photographs) It comes as pictured. Antique Carl Zeiss Jena refractometer. We know very little about antique refractometers. So anyone with more info, please message us through eBay. The bottom mirror is missing. This refractometer is a bit dusty. Posted with
Very nice. Pocket size, field microscope. When assembled it stands just 3.5 inches tall, the cylinder with eyepiece is 2 inches long and 1 and 3/8 inches across. The cylinder appears to be brass with an Bakelite eyepiece. The sturdy base is steel painted black and the mirror is double sided: one side is the actual casing which appears to be polished stainless steel and acts as a mirror while the other is an enclosed glass mirror. I imagine this is to give 2 different intensities of reflected light dependant on the subject to be viewed. The underside of the cylinder has Made in Germany stamped into the metal. see photo) The operation is quite simple, by depressing the 2 spring loaded pins on the sides of the cylinder an opening appears into which the slide is inserted. The mirror swivels to allow maximum light and the focusing is done by turning ... morethe Bakelite eyepiece. There are no date markings on the piece so I’m unsure of it’s actual date of manufacture. All parts are in excellent condition and move smoothly. Although everything appears to be in good working order I am selling the piece as is. slide and 25 cent piece are for size comparison and not included) Thanks for looking and check out more of my listings to see other interesting objects.
Great E. Leitz Wetlzar Microscope in Excellent Condition. Germany. 1919 Striking antique microscope made of brass and chrome-plated metal. With lacquered iron foot and in its original wooden case. This is an instrument for scientific research made in Germany in the early 20th century(1919) The microscope shows off its beautiful design and impressive condition: the metal looks with almost no traces of wear; the lacquer is shiny and even, and the screws and mobile parts move fluidly. It works perfectly and preserves all its original component parts too. The instrument’s turret bears the following engraved inscription: E. Leitz Wetzlar– Nº 179240. This stands for the manufacturing company’s name and the microscope’s serial number. The company started out in 1849. When it was founded in Wetlzar, Germany by Carl Kellner as the Optical Institute ... moreof Wetzlar. Later on the firm hired engineer Ersnt Leitz who in 1869 took over the company and changed its name for his. The business grew rapidly and became one of the most important manufacturers of optic material, microscopes and photographic cameras in the world. This wonderful microscope testifies for Leitz products’ quality. The top part stands over the black-lacquered‘bird-claw’ iron foot; it is composed of a golden brass turret connected to a three-lens revolving nosepiece. The three objectives bear the brand name and magnification number engraved in the metal and come with their respective protecting brass sleeves. The whole set is stored in the solid wooden box. Cast iron microscope 7" tall in handcrafted. Velvet lined wooden box( box has some scratches, and dings, good shape for it's age. May be older than the microscope. This item was found in my grandfathers attic.
