You are bidding to buy an antique cast iron and brass Bunsen burner. It has some rust and corrosion around the base. But is otherwise pretty nice. The threaded stem was easily removable as was the top cap and air adjuster.as seen in photos)The brass pieces also fit together snug and do not have any dents or cracks visible to me.I do not see a makers name on it,but haven't really looked that well.I believe, by the way this one is made,it has very good age(maybe 70-100 yrs) No returns! so read description, study photos, and ask questions if necessary. Fascinating and rare Antique chemical-porcelain labware crucible mini cup scientific tool. A crucible is a container that can withstand very high temperatures and is used for metal. Glass, and pigment production as well as a number of modern laboratory processes. While crucibles historically were usually made from clay, they can be made from any material that withstands temperatures high enough to melt or otherwise alter its contents.Crucibles and their covers are made of high temperature-resistant materials, usually porcelain, alumina or an inert metal. MEASURES Height: 1 1/2" Diameter: 1 1/2" CONDITION Very good antique condition- no chips or cracks Powered by The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items. I original thought this was a marine chronometer clock case, but it has some shadow lines inside the bottom of the case that caused me to leave that up to the buyer. Please notice the chip missing on the bottom left hand side of the front of the box. There are two cracks on the top due to age. The age of this piece is about the second quarter of the 19th century, so look at the wear and markings on the box. It's a great piece. Our estate sale, so no returns. It is used to magnify medial or scientific specimens utilizes a candle and parabolic reflector and it should have a magnify glass, but it is missing. It has a flared base in blued steel supporting a disk with a point to hold a candle and an arm that supports the parabolic reflector. The interior of the reflector is highly polished nickel plated metal. In my research I could not find any information about the maker of the item. This item is in very good condition– but it is missing the magnifying glass. It is 19 inches tall and the reflector is 12 inches in diameter. The base is 6 inches in diameter.
Up for grabs is a piece of cast-iron laboratory equipment(trolley? made by CENCO. Also known as the Central Scientific Co. The label on the trolley reads, Central Scientific Co. Chicago U.S.A. CENCO Laboratory Apparatus and markings in the iron read"84" on one set of wheels and"83" in the body of the trolley. A marking reading"UW 132 A 249" is painted in white on one side of the body, most likely an identification marking from the University of Wisconsin at Madison where it was probably used to conduct motion experiements in physics courses. The trolley measures 6.25" long, 2.75" wide, and stands 1.75" tall. Judging from the appearance, this piece of equipment was probably manufactured during the early 1900's. Antique Microscope This auction is for a really nice and very well made antique scientific microscope. It has a very unusual sleeve that slides over the entire microscope to prevent the delicate optics and the back has a handle. Made by the Bausch& Lomb Optical Company and it’s number 1601. It measures about 10¾" tall and is guaranteed old. Nice piece! The light reflecting mirror at the bottom has some corrosion and wear. Offered for auction is this set of two antique microscope lenses. One lens is marked"3" and one lens is marked"5" both very small around the rim of the optic. Optics work well and they come with two turned brass cylinder holders. One piece though is slightly too small to be screwed into the cap. The cylinders are marked'1" and"H 800" though I do not think they are original matches to the lenses. Each cylinder measures 2.25 inches tall and 1.25 inches in diameter. Each lens has a screw thread diameter of approx 3/4 inches. Nice shape overall- some patina. Scratching etc to surface with age. I accept PayPal. Up for sale is a very nice antique Reichert Austria microscope. Carl Reichert married into the Leitz family in 1874 and began manufacturing microscopes in Vienna(Austria) two years later. This and the fact that he had some of the Leitz technicians working for him explains why his instruments are so similar in design to those of Leitz. The firm was known for high quality instruments well into the 20th century when it was eventually bought out by American Optical in 1962* Background history from NJhouseholdgoods Auctions) This antique Reichert Microscope is numbered 104355 and dates approx. 1900. It has a black lacquered iron horseshoe base and. The Tube is also black lacquered and has only a single occular lens numbered 1. It has no makers identification label(not uncommon in early microscope parts at this time) The objective lens turret supports ... moreonly 2 objective lenses The one brass colored objective lens is of the the same time period as the microscope and is marked(12) 3920, Its components unscrew and can perhaps serve as a lower powered objective lens. It also has no makers identification. The second objective lens(plated brass) is a newer Reichert lens labeled- A=0.25; Ph 15:1 250 Reichert Wien. The condenser function normally with full range of iris closure. The miorror is in excellent condition on both sides. All the adjustments move freely and the microscope is in reasonably good shape for something that is over 100 years old. Sold As Is- no returns. Fast shipping- all questions answered. Thanks for looking.

Up for auction is this awesome Reichert Microscope from Austria. This is in working condition and great for its age. Comes with original box. Any question please feel free to ask. This is a awesome Antique Piece! Here is some more information about how Reichert microscopes came about! The Reichert company was founded by Carl Reichert in 1876 in Vienna. Carl Reichert was a son in law of Ernst Leitz. He learned microscopy business from Leitz in Wetzlar(Germany) and then moved to Vienna to establish his own company. His company was successful and by 1930 the 100000th microscope was produced. However in 1962. The family Reichert sold the business to the company American Optical(AO) American Optical, in turn, was taken over in 1968 by the worldwide pharmaceutical company Warner Lambert. Later. Within Warner Lambert, Reichert company was merged ... morewith Jung, another microscopy company established by Rudolf Jung in Heidelberg in 1872. In 1986 Warner Lambert sold all non-pharmaceutical companies to Cambridge Instruments(the optical company established in 1881 by the son of Charles Darwin, Horace) And finally, in 1990 Cambridge Instruments merged with the Wild Leitz to form Leica group. In 1999 Reichert stopped microscope production, concentrating to instruments for sample preparations for transmission electron microscopy. Thank you for viewing our product. This is a Circa 1900-1910 Battery-Type Electrical Device that was Manufactured by the CAMBRIDGE SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENT CO. LTD.Cambridge. England) It measures approximately 9.5" tall, 9" wide and 4.25" deep, and is mostly constructed of Oak( wood, Brass, a Bakelite( Top, and brass and copper fittings and lining. The wood has been so permeated by chemical solutions( thru the century, that it has created a very dark patina to the wood overall. Stamped into the top of the lid is"The Cambridge Scientific Instrument Co. Ltd. England. No. 2539, No. 476" and the 3 thumb screw brass terminals, starting with the upper left one, are stamped"B1" B2" and"G2" The two large, square brass posts are stamped"5 OHMS-C1"left one) and the other is"5 OHMS-P2" There are no other markings, inside ... moreor out, but everything seems to be there, including the Bakelite"cork" in the top. Note also that the tallest brass rod/knob on the device can be pulled up and down while the top is in place. The interior of the box is sheathed in copper with soldered corners. We estimate its age based on the fact that the firm was not formed until 1881, and changed its name to Cambridge& Paul Instrument Co. in 1920. That and the overall look of the instrument and the materials with which it is contructed, would suggest a ca 1900 date, plus or minus 10 years. The apparatus weighs exactly 10 pounds. The high bid price includes domestic standard shipping. For International bidders, we will allow a shipping credit in the amount of domestic standard shipping. All items must be paid within 10 days unless previous arrangements have been made with seller. Thank you for bidding!

This was originally part of the collection with the bottles I am selling in my other auction. I wanted to sell this item separately since some people may just be interested in the bottles. Or just this slide dispenser. A lot of the slides are stuck together, I did not separate those. The dispenser does work correctly.

Please see more photos at bottom of this page. Extremely Rare. If you search the web and images. You will be hard pressed to find any photos, catalog listings, collection notes, or auction records for this microscope. Circa 1879 Ernst Gundlach‘Physician’s Microscope#1’ Also known as the‘College Microscope’ A description and illustration from the 1882‘Royal Microscopical Society Journal’ is found at the bottom of this listing as well as an illustration from the Jan 21. 1879 U.S. Patent for this microscope. Ernst Gundlach was an important German maker of microscopes who emigrated to America and then set-up and developed Bausch& Lomb’s first microscope department. While at B&L. Gundlach patented many significant microscope innovations. Then. In 1878 Gundlach left B&L, and in 1879 formed his own company with LR Sexton. Gundlach had ... morelong been considered a master, at the time he patented and manufactured this Gundlach‘Physicians Microscope#1’ Gundlach. Is the design‘father’ behind many of the famous and sought after B&L Victorian era microscopes, which were produced in large quantities. This Gundlach‘Physicians Microscope#1’ is his own signature creation. From his own company, unfettered by B&L restrictions. Compared to B&L microscopes. Which were made and sold in great quantities, this microscope saw very limited production, and is truly rare. The microscope is engraved‘Ernst Gundlach’ with the patent date. The original case(walnut? has faded ink stamps that read‘LR Sexton’and’Gundlach’ There are two objectives and two eyepieces. The microscope features a glass stage. With a movable ornamental slide holder on arms, that glides on‘frictionless’ pins. Four adjustments are described: 1) A rack and pinion movement 2) a sliding adjustment of the body 3) a micrometer screw and. 4) a combination of micrometer screws giving a slower motion than has ever been brought into use before” Condition: The microscope was tested for basic function and is working. Antique Polariscope Polarimeter Saccharimeter Scientific Test Instrument Original Wood Box Up for bid. An antique Saccharimeter, which is a specialized version of a Polariscope or Polarimeter. A polarimeter is a scientific instrument used to measure theangle of rotation caused by passing polarized light through an optically activesubstance. A saccharimeter is a form of polarimeter for measuring the concentration of sugar solutions and is used most often in the sugar industry for determining the qualityof both the juice from sugar cane and the refined sucrose. This instrument is 19-1/4" long. Black rail and silver colored metal hardware, a beautiful black and green central tube, a small measuring scale at one end, and lots of dials and adjustable eyepieces. It has a door in the round cylinder that was meant to take another cylinder, most ... morelikely containing the material to be tested. Much of it is not magnetic, although I am not sure of the material. The bottom has a threaded hole that I think was meant to receive a tripod. There is a small round paper tag on it that says"Dennison" most likely the university, and a sticker inside the box that says"University of Cincinnati" with a number. The hardwood box is dovetailed, has antique hardware, is 20-3/8" long, 5-3/4" wide and 4" high, and has several compartments made by wood partitions screwed to the box from the outside. No key. You now know as much as I do! I have no idea what pieces may be missing. But it is a great conversation piece! Condition: The box has one significant split(see last photo) and a marred finish. But is solid and well made. The instrument itself needs cleaned and polished, and the green/black finish on the tube has marks and scratches on it. I do not know how or if it works. Great collectible piece! Please note that I will be having a knee replacement soon so that thislisting and all my others will be ending during the second week of October. Ifnot before, and I do not know when they will resume. If you se

Presented for your consideration is this Antique Central Scientific Physics Lab Electro Magnetic gauge. This rare demonstration piece is circa late 1800s around the turn of the century. These old instruments were used in a university classroom laboratory setting to demonstrate the principles of electricity. I am not quite sure to the exact function of this piece or even what its called but. It is pretty neat. It appears to provide a path for electricity to flow into a desired object but, I am not really sure. This piece measures approximately 9 1/4 inches tall, the base measures approximately 12 inches by 4 inches. The base and stand are constructed ... moreof a very fine hardwood, and this piece remains in very good antique condition. The"guillotine" style wire connections work perfectly. CENTRAL SCIENTIFIC COMPANY ANTIQUE LEVER ACTION AIR PUMP WITH BELL JAR* Pictured is a Central Scientific Company lever action air pump. Central Scientific Company was founded in 1900 in downtown Chicago. It was formed out of what was left of the Olmstad Scientific Company. Central Scientific manufactured and distributed science teaching equipment for schools. Colleges, and universities by catalog mail order. The trademark"CENCO" was used from 1909 onwards. CENCO dominated the field of selling science education equipment through their mail order catalog. As the nineteenth century began to wind down. Table-top pumps began to be standard issue for college collections. This one, is similar to the one at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, which was made by James. W. Queen of Philadelphia; in the 1881. It was known as the Queen Pump. The ... moredimensions of the pump are 28” x 11” 31. The 12” ruler is pictured for scale. The piston-type vacuum pump was invented by Otto von Guericke(1602-1686; see photo) in the course of a series of experiments on the production and effects of a vacuum. He used it to investigate the properties of the vacuum. With his experiments Guericke disproved the hypothesis of"horror vacui" That nature abhors a vacuum. Aristotle in e.g. Physics IV 6-9 had argued against the existence of the void and his views commanded near universal endorsement by philosophers and scientists up to the 17th century. Guericke showed that substances were not pulled by a vacuum, but were pushed by the pressure of the surrounding fluids. One time he pumped out the air out of 2 copper half globes. The air pressure outside held the halves so tightly that 16 horses couldn't pull them apart! Pictured is Page 416 from Central Scientific Company’s 1918 catalog which shows this exact device. Early 20th century scientific instruments are becoming quite rare particularly one that is in as fine condition as this one. The thick glass bell jar is often missing. There are a few stress fractures to the glued-in glass
