The Bausch& Lomb Optical Company of Rochester. New York manufactured this microscope for the Philadelphia based scientific supply company of James W. Queen& Co. Due to the fact that Queen& Co. was the distributor of the instrument. The microscope is signed in block letters on the rear of the stage, JAS. W. QUEEN& CO. Please read ALL of the text and view the pictures carefully. We will gladly answer any questions as best we can. Please ask questions before you bid or buy. Please scroll to the bottom of the pictures and read the terms under our last picture. I am far from an expert on these but will do my best to describe it for you. Questions encouraged.I do not see any cracked lenses and the mirror is not cracked on either side. All lenses are clear but one has a hair or something inside of it which I think you can see in the pictures. All of the knobs work smoothly. The paint is worn where you would place the slide and it looks rusty but it may be the base coat of paint as the finish is nice and smooth. It comes with the extra lenses as shown. I have taken close ups of any numbers or markings I could find. The numbers on the top of the microscope which ... moreI assume are the serial numbers are 241681. The black paint is scuffed on the bottom of the back of the base and it could use some polishing/cleaning in my opinion. The wooden finger jointed case is in nice shape with just a scuff on the one side and the original nickel handle remains on the top. The door has a lock but I do not have the key. Have a look at the pictures and please feel free to ask questions. Thank you for viewing. We have many other listings so please click the link to view them. Up for auction is an old miniature Field Microscope. I've seen them called Drum microscopes before but not sure if that's the proper term for it. Its all brass and appears as though there was a coating of maybe lacquer or something on it to preserve the brass color. Its in the original wood box and appears to have all the parts with it, Very good condition. I cant find any name or writing on it. A very nice piece that appears to be in working order. Please look closely at the pictures and if you have any questions feel free to ask. Thank you for looking. We will ship anywhere in the USA and Canada.

An antique"Argus Nr. 606" Brass Microscope. 6 3/4" high, made in Germany and housed in its original wood box, 2 3/4" x 8 9/16" x 2 1/2" high, with original hook closures. There's a paper label inside the box with some information but I don't see any maker's mark on the Microscope. GERMANY" is impressed into the 2" diameter iron base. The top section can be adjusted up and down and can also be removed from the bottom section. Condition. In good condition overall. I didn't polish the brass but left it as found. The surface of the adjustable mirror is in good condition with some oxidation across the middle section that doesn't seem to interfere with reflecting light into the Microscope. The top and bottom glass lenses are in good condition with no scratches. There is an old short closed ... morecrack in the bottom section of the brass band above the section that holds the slide that can be seen in one of the side view photos of the Microscope(as the Microscope front faces to the right) This part doesn't hold the top section in place so it doesn't affect the use of the Microscope in any way. There are NO slides with this Microscope although there is space for 4 slides in the box. Shipping weight of carefully wrapped package. 3 pounds Buyer pays shipping. I usually ship the day after I receive the email from PayPal confirming your payment to PayPal. If I receive the confirmation email from PayPal on a Friday or a weekend I ship the following Monday. If payment is made by check I ship the day after your check clears my bank. Usually about 5 days after I receive it. I will send an invoice to the winning bidder soon after the close of the auction. California residents without a valid CA resale number pay 8.25% tax on the winning bid. I prefer PayPal for payment but I also accept checks(see shipping info. above) I expect payment within 4 days of my invoice. If you have any questions. Please ask before bidding. Thanks.
Antique Small Microscope in Wood Case No Makers Mark(German. Late 1800s) Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great piece for your buying consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. Interesting piece. In both the way it is made, the size and the case it came in. The microscope has a black painted metal base, specimen plate, and stand. The scope and adjusting screw are brass. The case has a label on it that says the piece is circa 1920. A label on the bottom of the scope says"German" on it. Another piece of paper that came with it attributed the scope to being German and from around 1870. You be the judge of how old this piece is and where it was made prior to buying it. The one sided mirror looks intact. The lens in the eye end and the other end appear to be there. Cannot speak ... moreto their condition as not an expert of microscopes. I see no makers mark on the scope. But it definitely seems to have some age to it. The case is made of wood. The latch and screw hooks are still on the case. Hinges still there and working. The case is 2.75 tall, by 8-1/16" across, by 3.75" wide. The case corner are doweled together. The case seems to be appropriate for the scope. The microscope is 7.25" tall. By 2.25" across, by 3`" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer. I am always open to reasonable suggestions. Antique Brass Microscope Double Pillar Design Dual Power Magnification This microscope was likely made in France around the year 1875. This is based on information and photos posted on the internet. I am not an expert in this field and cannot guarantee the age or country of manufacture of this piece. Two powers of magnification are available. Unscrewing the outer objective lens provides lower power viewing. It is in very good working order. Although lenses might benefit from some cleaning. I have not detected any damage to the optics. It has a double sided mirror illuminator with the concave side being damaged(see photos) The flat mirror is excellent. The multiple aperture diaphragm under the stage is in very good condition. Other than some blemishes on the finish, I am not aware of any significant defects. Please examine photos. Height is ... moreapprox 10 inches. Beautiful brass construction. Base is cast iron with green/brass lacquered finish. 40" is stamped into the yoke holding the main tube(see photo) 11" is stamped in the corner of the bottom of the stage(see photo) Unique extension arm for magnifier. Case appears original. The top and bottom boards have some splits from drying out and there are some small paint splotches on the finish. Please refer to photos of the case. The piece inside the case that supports the neck of the microscope is loose. But is present. All latches and hinges are in good order. This piece is offered as you see it and as I have described to the best of my limited ability. Please examine the photos carefully. Contact me through eBay with any questions that you may have. I will be very happy to respond. Satisfaction is guaranteed

Unique, Retro, Vintage, Antique, etc. They are usually old pieces or even new items in original boxes which could show little or substantial shelf wear. With the multitude of items I find, many may have minor imperfections, e.g. bubbles in blown glass, light wear, small flaws, Artist’s molds, marks, flares, discrepancies in patterns and cuts. There are instances that some of these imperfections are done intentionally by the Artist. I do not point out these flaws or imperfections unless the quality of the item is affected. Numerous items need the Patina unaltered, so I do not clean it. Otherwise I do dust or sometimes clean the item. I inspect every item and try to describe each piece to the best of my ability, but I am not an expert. Photo gallery. Click to enlarge. DETAILS Antique Microscope Brass& Cast Iron in Dove Tail Wood Case with Slides& Extras This listing is for an antique microscope in a beautiful wooden case. This piece is not marked anywhere. So we're not certain who made it or when, but based on the materials used and the style, we're guessing this dates back to the early 1900's. This microscope features a cast iron base, brass upper and a cast aluminum center section. The microscope has one adjustable eye piece, a rotating dial that lets in differing amounts of light and and adjustable magnifying glass on the bottom. It comes in a beautiful wooden case(possibly mahogany) that has dovetail joint construction and is really nicely built. The case has two drawers that are packed with glass slides, an extra eye piece, glycerin for setting ... morethe slides and some tools. This is a great set that would look amazing as a piece of decor, or would be a great addition to any vintage medical instrument collection! Condition: This piece is antique and used with some wear. The microscope is hard to focus. But appears to be working as intended. It may need some slight adjustments to work perfectly, but we see magnified, lighted images when we can get it to focus a little. There is light wear to the housing with some light tarnishing on the brass. The case is in good condition, but the two drawers in the case appear to be replacements and not original. Please look closely at the photos for condition details and ask us any questions before bidding. Antique Single Lens Microscope in Wood Case Maker All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great older brass microscope for your buying consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! The microscope case is made of some metal with a gold colored lacquer on it. There is some loss of finish to the microscope case. The lens are in both ends of the microscope and inside of the cylinder. Cannot speak to their condition. Other than I see no cracks or blistering. There are no dates noted on the microscope or wood case. The maker's mark is noted faintly on the inside of the top cover of the wood case. Looks to be something like Bendreik& Son and Germany below that. Cannot read the last line of the writing on the lowest part of the oval. And when I wiped ... moreit. It appears that most of the ink impression came off, so the scope's maker is to be a mystery forever, oiy! The mirror at the bottom of the scope is one sided. Not cracked or blistered, but the mirrored surface does show some wear. The glass for the lens and objective are dusty and may have some minor scratching. I see no blistered cracked or missing glass in the lenses or objectives. The microscope is 8.5" tall. By 2.75" across. Nice what appears to be the original wood case. The wood case is intact, still has one of the latches and eye screws, the other ones is not there. There is a little shelf inside the case, not sure what it was for. There is also a wood cradle inside of the case to hold the neck of the microscope in the center of the case. The case is 9.25" long, by 3" tall,by 3.25" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer. We are always open to reasonable offers. Make sure that this item meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned. But there is a $30 restocking fee to do so. So. The wood box is 6 3/4 inches long x 2 7/8 inches wide x 2 1/2 inches tall. It has brass latches. The number 84 is written on inside of lid. The microscope has an adjustable mirror to focus the light. It is 6 1/4 inches unextended and fully extended is close to 8 inches. There are no slides with the microscope. So we can't tell if it actually works properly. We can see light through the opening when the mirror is adjusted and magnification seems to increase as it extends. It marked Made in France on the side. 1. Very large antique Microscope case measuring 16 1/2" tall by 14 1/2" wide and 8 1/2" deep. The wood appears to be mahogany and it clearly was a production case. Fancy hardware on the pulls and hinges suggest pre 1940's. The handle on top as well as two pulls mounted on the front are clearly later. The inside support for the top handle is Japanned copper again suggesting pre 1940's construction. Below the drawers is a swinging vial holder that easily lifts out but has a round bottom so its not something you could set on a tabletop. Here's an antique microscope camera outfit. Made by Carl Zeiss of Jena, Germany, probably in the 1920's, for making 4.5 x 6 cm exposures on glass plates or cut film. Please don't ask me to explain more about it or how it works because my knowledge of microscopy is rudimentary at best. I probably only know enough to be"dangerous" Whatever, you can see it for yourself, and although untested and I don't know how to operate the shutter(if it works at all after nearly a century) it appears to be in a very nice state of preservation, featuring clean bright viewing system, some sort of dedicated objective in its own little black metal storage tube, a pair of perfect original plate holders, a graduated exposure scale for test exposures, and an additional mask for making round exposures, all nicely protected in the original ... moreheavy duty wood outfit case. Very cool! Look at the pics below.it's a fascinating piece of vintage Zeiss technology! ANTIQUE A.S. ALOE BRASS MICROSCOPE WITH 3 LENSES AND OTHER ACCESSORIES IN ORIGINAL WOODEN BOX This extraordinary microscope was made by the A. S. Aloe Company of St. Louis Missouri. The company started using the name A. S. Aloe& Company in 1885 but I have no way of knowing when the microscope was actually made. It appears to be turn of the century and all brass as far as I can tell. The microscope and two of the lens cases are imprinted A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS. But there is no serial number. Hopefully the photographs will help to date this item. The wooden case was made to house three lens cases but along the way someone crafted a second housing that holds two additional lens cases. see photo#7) The rest of the case pieces appear to be all original. There are two eyepieces- a one-inch and a two-inch. There are five brass lens cases as ... morefollows: 1) One brass case imprinted A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS and made to contain the lens that is on the microscope now. The lens is also imprinted with A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS and the designation 2/3. 2) One brass case imprinted A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS and made to contain a second lens. This lens is also imprinted with A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS and the designation TUBE LENGTH 140 1/6. 3) One brass case with no imprint at all- possibly to house a third lens if the owner ever bought one. 4) One brass case imprinted BAUSCH& LOMB OPTICAL CO ROCHESTER N.Y. NEW YORK CITY and the designation 1/12. The lens is also imprinted BAUSCH& LOMB OPTICAL CO and the designation OIL IMM. 1/12 1.30 N.A. TUBE LENGTH 160.0 MM. 5) One brass case imprinted BAUSCH& LOMB OPTICAL CO ROCHESTER N.Y. NEW YORK CITY and the designation IMMERSION OIL. The bottle is still about 1/3 full of the oil! I believe that the handcrafted two-lens housing was made to house the oil immersion lens case and the immersion oil case. The felt is still present on all of the wood pieces in the wooden case that cushion the microscope and various lenses and accessories. And in addition to the original equipment. The

It has a bit of the surface enamel missing from the stage(pictured) and the locking mechanism on the original mahogany wood case does not work- I believe it just needs a magnet to be replaced to function properly. Overall, though, this rare antique microscope and case are in very good condition. Estimated age- unknown. patent Dec 1 08- 1908 Revolving two lens. 4mm and 16mm. Both work.
