Antique Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Solid Brass Microscope SN#26739 ~ Pat. 8-1897 Up for auction(sale) is a Vintage Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Brass ... moreMicroscope My clients husband found this microscope in the remains of an old building and cleaned it up very well. Most all the adjustable parts move. Though some are a little harder than others. It is missing 1 of the 3 magnifying lenses that can rotate to any one of the 3 positions. It may be missing other parts that I don't know about. The eye piece does not appear to be the proper one for this scope, but does fit in the chamber. The mirror at the base does have blemishes on both sides. It has many more options than some of the other scopes that I have found from this era. It has 2 patent dates that I can find, one from Feb 1897& one from Aug. 1897. The serial number is on the base#26739. It is 14 1/2" Tall x 6" Deep x 4 1/4" Wide I was unable to really see anything as I didn't have the knowledge or the material to test. I'm sure that it does need some restoration. Though it is a great looking decorative piece as it sits. This is the condition it has been in for many years and I did not attempt to polish or take apart to clean. If you would like more pictures please let me know I will ship this scope FREE in the Continental United States PayPal only please If you have any questions please ask I strive for 100% approval so if you have any issues please contact me before leaving feedback I will do returns in special situations Thanks for checking out my items. Due to some new priorities that I set. I clear now a section of my collection of antique field microscopes in favor of other models. Between June and August 2013 I will gradually list some high end single and compound microscopes, ranging between the 2 nd half of the 17 th. The 18 th. And the early 19 th centuries. If you are a serious collector. Please follow my lists. I will neither provide BIN prices nor sell outside of eBay, so please avoid addressing me with such requests. Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique"compass microscope" Probably dating to the late 18 th century. The microscope is unsigned. It comes with one integral lens and two additional stacking button lenses. Providing altogether relatively very high magnification estimated ... moreat ~100X. The special specimen holder having the three prongs is paralleled by item R.M.S. No. 21 reviewed in Gerard Turner's book The Great Age of the Microscope. However. The model depicted there is different. The microscope has a nice ebony lacquered handle. But otherwise the finishing seems to be somewhat cruder than the usual for these. The case or etui that presumably accompanied it is missing. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared payment. By EMS(Express Mailing Service) PLEASE NOTE: sometimes items are held by the customs for longer periods of time. In the very unlikely case of a problem. Please do not open a case against me before contacting me first! You will be provided with the tracking number to follow the item and I will sort out any delay and refund you in full in case of any reasonable loss. Please be patient. As it is beyond my powers to control the customs in your country. In my experience, usually there are no problems of this kind but here and there they may occur. Dating to the first half of the 19 th century. The microscope is unsigned. Yet several features clearly assign it to France. It is very unique in terms of design, having two separate and ... moreparallel stands, one for the microscope and the other for the sample holder. This microscope features a variation on the theme of the"Ellis aquatic microscope" It collapses into the 15 x 9.3 x 5 cm mahogany case. Internally lined with red velvet. When mounted, the body tube is 9.5 cm long rising altogether(with the case) to 14.5 cm. Both the microscope and the parallel sample holder stem screw into two brass sockets at the top of the case. The microscope stage is sliding along the column for focusing. Below it. A 2.8 cm diameter single sided mirror is mounted on a typically French 8 shaped bracket screwed to the column(see the discussion here regarding this style) The original accessories include three lenses with different magnifications. A glass stage disk with a polished depression for observing pond fauna and flora in aquatic samples, brass tweezers, and a special mounting wrench for the rater primitive stage forceps. he microscope, its accessories, and the mahogany case are all in very good overall condition. It dates to the first half of the 19 th century. SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared payment,

Due to a devastating illness that her mother has recently been stricken with. Back in 2011 Joanne was in serious pain. It seemed to get worse as time went by. after many trips to the doctor, tests and great expense they discovered that several bones in her neck and spine had been chipped and fragments of bone were causing the pain.later that year she underwent surgery to remove the fragments and repair as much damage as they could. After the two and a half hour surgery she didn't seem to heal and began falling and bumping into walls many times a day which caused further damage. 19th Century Brass Single Lens Field Microscope which includes 8 glass slides. Small magnifying glass, and wood case. A beautiful piece for a collector or accent decoration for the right room. Both case and microscope show normal wear for an item of this age. Microscope still in working order.
Here is a great antique French microscope with original box in much better than average condition. Measures 8 1/2 inches in when retracted. Made of brass and cast iron. Original gold paint on base. Optics are clear. Reflector is foggy. Brass has nearly all of the original lacquer on it. Knob retracts it fine and the top lense is removable. Box is in fine condition, beautiful wood, missing one wood spacer as shown. All seams tight. Box has a name I am guess was the original owner and what looks like a retailer stamp on the bottom. Box measures 9 1/2 by 4 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches. Superb example of a mid 19th Century Microscope. Guranteed original for ever. Thanks for looking. Payment to be remitted within 4 days.
NO RESERVE.This is an ANTIQUE 19th Century Brass Microscope. The lower lens stage bezel unscrews smoothly. As well as the base. The upper two stages allow unscrewing with little resistance. The center stage threads to the bottom are not responsive and may be frozen. I don't think this is solid brass. It is probably plated. For parts or repair. No returns. Incomplete. For decoration purposes only.
You are looking at a F.E& Newton brass microscope dating from 1858. The company originated in England and was subsidized by King Albert and the queen of the time. The company consisted of specialized opticians. This brass microscope comes set with the full kit and the microscope itself measures a little over 10" in length.
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE HE Offered for auction is a nice 18th century"compass" microscope. The"Compass Microscope" is named so because of the center hinge. Reminiscent of a drafting compass. It was used during the 18th century for inspecting small opaque objects such as fauna or flora. To use the instrument, the user would mount the specimen with the forceps and locate it just opposite the lens. The silvered reflecting Lieberkuhn mirror focuses more light on the top surface of the specimen. These microscopes were very popular as pocket field aids for naturalists. The microscope comes with a black leather coated case lined with green velvet.
