It was manufactured before 1900, and I believe 1893 is the manufacture date adding to its historical significance. This instrument is signed on the front face of the body tube. E. Leitz Wetzlar, No. 263923. This serial number dates the instrument to the year 1928. Accompanying this listing is a catalog cut of this microscope model extracted from ... morethe 1920 Leitz “Catalogue of Microscopes and Accessory Apparatus” for comparison with the instrument featured here. The similarities to the featured instrument are readily apparent. NOTE: The only significant difference is the fact that the featured instrument has a rectangular rather than a round stage. Leitz first introduced this model microscope about the year 1905 with the intent that it would serve as an economical but complete instrument for routine examinations in clinical laboratories. Thus. This model microscope found its way into clinical laboratories around the world and was a very successful addition to the Leitz varied line of precision microscopes. This early 20th Century Leitz brass microscope will make a very nice addition to any vintage/ antique microscope collection. DETAILED DESCRIPTION: This microscope is built upon Leitz’s “Stativ C” stand. Which has a nicely sculpted horseshoe shaped foot with an integral rectangular pillar that rises to a compass joint that supports the limb, stage and the rest of the instrument. Antique Early 1900's E. Leitz Wetzlar Polished Brass Microscope w/ Case + More
This is a Antique E. Leitz brass microscope. The microscope has many polished brass parts and it appears to me to be complete and original. But I am not familiar with microscopes so please view the pictures to judge for yourself. Included is some original accessories, including 2 brass cases for the lenses, and some sort of brass rod with a threaded end. The case included does fit the microscope, but I do not be-leave it to be original to the scope, it looks like a newer case used to keep the microscope safe. Still a great collector and conversation piece for any medical collector. All parts on the microscope move freely and smoothly, and nothing appears to be broken, bend, or repaired.

Antique Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope with Parallel linkage No 5349
This microscope belonged to my father. What he did with it. I couldn't say. He wasn't a doctor, and actually, it was just stored away. I never saw him use it. It is in very nice condition. The brass table for slides has one place on the right side where the paint is off it in about a 1/8" area. The back of the base has some marks, something sticky that is on the paint. I didn't want to chance trying to clean them with a solvent. The lenses are all good. The fine adjustment mechanism works smoothly and has no play. The rotating disc under the table clicks in solidly to it's detents, and the mirror moves smoothly. It is certainly a nicely made instrument. I believe this style would have been considered a traveling microscope, if I am reading their history correctly. Another one like this on EBay listed it as 1908. I couldn't ... moresay for sure what year this one is. The number on the table is 5349.

This auction is for. Vintage Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope No 216525 This is from my father-in-laws estate. This is a very cool looking old microscope.from the early 1900's I believe. This is a very solid microscope weighing in at a hefty 10 pounds. This was always kept as a display piece on my father-in-laws mantel. Antique Vintage German Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope #2
Antique German brass microscope. Marked E. Leitz Wetzlar Germany No. 250088 Very good condition; I do not see anything wrong with it. No scratches, dents or damage that I can see. It came from the estate of a doctor who had a large collection of microscopes. This was on a shelf in his home library. It appears to have been well taken care of. As to whether it is in working condition. My best guess is that it probably is functional, considering where it came from and how it was stored and displayed. I am not a science person, nor an expert on microscopes, and only remember how to use one from high school science classes, but from what I can see, it is in very good to excellent condition, and all the knobs rotate freely and easily. It is heavy and weighs about 8 1/2 lbs. Please see photos and feel free to contact me if you have questions. I ... morepack carefully and usually ship on the next business day after payment clears. Antique demonstration brass microscope by Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar, 1902, rare!
Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is a very rare demonstration microscope by Ernst Leitz. Wetzlar, dating to around 1900 or slightly later. Demonstration microscopes are portable microscopes intended to be used in class. The lecturer is to place a slide and focus it. And the microscope can be passed around the class with each student looking through it while an explanation is given. This demonstration microscope was made around 1900 by Ernst Leitz of nickel-plated brass and steel. This small microscope is fitted with a wooden handle and can be served during lectures through the auditorium. The sample was secured to the stage by two clamps firmly attached to the vulcanite stage. The microscope has a graduated draw-tube, yet focusing is only made by a sliding ... moretube. An identical microscope can be seen in the“Museum of Optical Instruments” here: With the attached lens by E. Leitz Wetzlar. Linear enlargements up to 60X can be achieved. As opposed to most microscopes made by Ernst Leitz in Wetzlar, this instrument is unfortunately not marked with a serial number. In the Leitz catalog of optical instruments of 1902, this microscope is offered with and without fine tuning or condenser(last figure, not included but shown here for demonstration only) SHIPPING(please read carefully! Shipping is made promptly(within a day) after receiving cleared payment by EMS(Express Mailing Service) PLEASE NOTE: sometimes items are held by the customs for longer periods of time. In the very unlikely case of a problem. Please do not open a case against me before contacting me first! You will be provided with the tracking number to follow the item and I will sort out any delay and refund you in full in case of any reasonable loss. Please be patient. As it is beyond my powers to control the customs in your country. In my experience, usually there are no problems of this kind but here and there they may occur. Shipping fees: I DO NOT OVERCHARGE F
