You are bidding on an old. Victorian like, antique brass and glass miniature field microscope with fitted box. Microscope seems to be in good working ... moreorder. Retains its original finish. Nice uncleaned example. Glass is not broken and does move with the thumbscrew. Top of microscope expands up and down freely. Microscope has no maker identification on it, nor the box. I have seen other field microscopes similar that were made by"The Harvey Lewis Co. and other that were made in Germany. I am not sure if this one is either. There is a date inscribed on the inside of the box. 7/30/25. With the initials J.J.H. Also included is 1 prepared glass slide and 1 tweezer. The box has two clasps that hold it closed. There is a crack through the bottom side of the box. But it does affect the integrity. Microscope measures: expanded) 7 1/8" x 1 7/8 at the base Wood box measures: 7" X 2 3/4" X 2 1/8" Take home this great piece of early history. Will pack carefully. Shipping through USPS Priority Mail. BUYER TO PAY SHIPPING.I DO NOT SHIP INTERNATIONALLY.GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING! PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY LEAVE FEEDBACK ONCE IT IS RECEIVED ON MY END FIRST. THIS IS JUST TO ENSURE YOUR ITEM HAS ARRIVED AND YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH IT. THANKS!

This antique cast metal& brass microscope appears to be in good working condition. But I'm not an expert on old microscopes, so it is being sold"as ... moreis" with no returns(and no reserve and no buy it now. The stand has some chips in the finish, with the most noticeable ones being on the"neck" see last photo. Also, the table has a crack on the corner(photo#9) and one of the slide clips has minor plate wear near the screw. The three lenses that come with the scope are 1mm, 4mm& 16mm(all three are marked Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. The scope comes with two mirrors, but the extra mirror may or may not be a B& L mirror, so it may not fit the scope. The scope is marked: B. L. O. Co. PAT. DEC 1 08(photo#11. While the scope is patent dated 1908, I'm not sure what the actual manufacture date is. The opening the eyepiece fits in is marked: 89669 The wooden box/case is intact, but it has scuffs& scratches, finish wear and a there's a crack on the top(photo#3-the top is also slightly warped. There is no key for the box. The scope& case are heavy(14-15 lbs. packaged) So boxed standard shipping with tracking will be $25.00 in the continental U.S. Boxed priority shipping to Canada will be $60.00. Boxed international priority shipping will be $85.00. CANADIAN BIDDERS-PLEASE WAIT FOR INVOICE BEFORE SUBMITTING PAYMENT. SHIPPING TO CANADA IS LESS THAN INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. Thank your for stopping by! We look forward to doing business with you! Customer satisfaction is our number one priority! Up for auction is a great piece of scientific history. This early Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Microscope comes from an estate where the owner of this microscope served in WW2 completing field research. Model No. 340922 The case bears the name tag James Langill. Woburn Mass. housed under a chrome nameplate holder on the top of the case. The Microscope is stamped Ernst Leitz Wetzlar in many places. On the inside of the case it features the Leitz nameplate logo. Sadly I could only post 12 pictures. More pictures are available upon request. I tried to upload the most important photo's within the 12 allowed. The Microscope is fully functional. Some wear due to age. The chrome and brass are in nice shape. The original case also ... moreincludes the original slide and accessory storage box. Which is normally missing. There are also 16 original slides with labeled specimens still in the case. They are stamped Japan so I can only assume they were used in research during the war while in Japan. Two original lenses/eye pieces are included as well as three original small storage containers. Along with the slides there was also an old thermometer, package of cover glasses and two slide holding chrome clips. Please see list below for what the specimens are on the slides. Inside the slide case(on the inside cover) there is a Leitz Microscope No. Identification Table that has never been written in. The original dual sided mirror is in tact. Clean and free of cracks or chips. All knobs work and turn allowing adjustments to function. This is a great looking microscope with nice history. Please see all pictures as they are a large part of the description process. No Reserve! Details: E. Leitz Wetzler 6x Eye Piece E. Leitz Wetzler 10x Eye Piece E. 0 0 1 473 2701 The Associated Press 22 6 3168 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This is a very interesting estate sale find. And it is in remarkably good condition. The black box contains 50“Microscopical Preparations” slides, including diatoms of various things like“The Tongue of a Snail, or"The Abdomen of a Bee. The best I’ve been able to determine, these slides became popular in the mid-1800s, and had something of a heyday in the 1880s or so. The case is in very good condition. Though i t has some scuffs- included in photos. The two front hook latches close into a circular catch. It says“Microscopical Preparations” and Hensoldt/Wetzlar/Germany with the Wetzlar logo. It also says Hensoldt/Wetzlar/Germany on the right side of all the slides. Some of the slides have a black circle encasing the specimen and others have a ... moreraised top over the specimen. Hensoldt is a German microscope maker. I have seen some slides online with“M. Hensoldt” on it. With the same sort of paper, dated to about 1880 or so. These slides without the“M. for Moritz, the founder) may be a little later, though they use the same paper and style, so my guess is that they are of that same era. One of the few mentions I found during my research of the Hensoldt slides indicated that a famous British slide-preparer had actually purchased his slides from M. Hensoldt. Took the Hensoldt papers off of them, and then put his own name on them to sell mostly because of the maker's products superior quality. I say 50 slides– but there is actually one of them that appears to be a blank without a specimen on it. None of them appear to be cracked or chipped. I have attached a list of what is written on each slide- the best that I could determine– the writing on them is very nice. But it is also very small! 1. Wing of Butterfly. Alla popilioris 2. Clapergillus glaricus 3. Spinning of caterpillar. Bombyn mori 4. Petalum cumpilis snellatin. Dcutvia 5. Crystals in cello. Allium sativum 6. Pollen pini 7. Sting of wasp. Aculeus vaspae 8

A set of both two states of The Creed microphotograph by J.B. Dancer(Illuminated and Plain) Each of which include 484 letters. As can be seen in the photos. The images relatively crisp and clean. The illuminated slide is quite lovely. With lots of details surrounding the text. The slide itself is in very good condition, with the exception of a couple stains on the label and wear commensurate with age. Although the image is nice for the plain state, the slide itself is cracked(as shown in the last picture) but well held together by the label. The label on the plain slide is fairly browned. Happy to answer any questions. I am capable of shipping worldwide. But please message me if outside UK, Canada and US to confirm I can ship to your specific location, and to get a quote. I may insist on the tracking option for locations outside UK, Canada ... moreand the US so, please confirm prior to bidding as the cost may be notable. Up for offer is an antique collectable item from our family! Our family is from Mennonite background and has lived in Southwestern. Ontario– Canada, specifically Kitchener and Ingersoll, after immigrating to Canada from Pennsylvania from the 1760’s. Later relatives were avid antique enthusiasts and many collectables& antiques have been carefully stored and passed down. And here we are offering from this collection. This E. Leitz Wetzlar# 95675 microscope was purchased by my family in 1906 by my great uncle who attended and graduated from Medical School at the University of Toronto in 1907. It was then gifted to my father who attended and graduated Medical School at the University of Toronto in 1939. Both my great uncle and father used this scope at both Medical School and within their practices in Vancouver and Toronto. Respectively. ... moreWe have not polished or cleaned the scope as to leave to the collector. It comes with(as per photos) 1. Original wooden dovetailed box/case marked the same serial# as the scope 95675 stamped on top of door. 2. Original key- lock works well. 3. 2 Eyepieces#s 2& 4(marked E.Leitz Wetzlar) 4. 3 Objectives#s 1/12. 3& 6a(marked E.Leitz Wetzlar) 5. An additional light condenser(no markings) 6. 2 additional light condenser attachments(no markings) 7. Thirteen glass specimen slides-9 unmarked with various smears. 4 are marked as: University of Toronto No. 75 RAT LUNG Dept. of Anatomy, University of Toronto No. 4 Unmarked Specimen No. 4 Dept. of Anatomy, University of Toronto Unmarked Specimen No.114 Dept of Anatomy, Pleurosigma Angulatum Ernst Leitz Wetzlar. Everything works well but requires a good cleaning- It appears one slide holder clip is missing on the stage. Wonderful addition to your collection! A set of three antique/ vintage arranged microscope slides. The slide shown on the left-hand side of the listing photograph appears to be made of some sort of light wood. With a green covering. Overall in very good condition, although there is a very slight curvature to the wood. Contains spines arranged in a star pattern. The middle slide was created by the renowned diatom arranger. K.D. Kemp, and dated 20/ 10/ 93. And titled"Exhibition Bird. Also indicates"Styrax" and"Diatomacea. The slide contains a remarkably tiny arrangement of what appear to be diatoms in the shape of a bird with its wings spread. Unfortunately I do not have the facilities to take a good, clear image, but tried to capture it in the listing photo. The bird is a bit challenging to locate at first. Photo gallery. Click to enlarge. DETAILS Antique Microscope Brass& Cast Iron in Dove Tail Wood Case with Slides& Extras This listing is for an antique microscope in a beautiful wooden case. This piece is not marked anywhere. So we're not certain who made it or when, but based on the materials used and the style, we're guessing this dates back to the early 1900's. This microscope features a cast iron base, brass upper and a cast aluminum center section. The microscope has one adjustable eye piece, a rotating dial that lets in differing amounts of light and and adjustable magnifying glass on the bottom. It comes in a beautiful wooden case(possibly mahogany) that has dovetail joint construction and is really nicely built. The case has two drawers that are packed with glass slides, an extra eye piece, glycerin for setting ... morethe slides and some tools. This is a great set that would look amazing as a piece of decor, or would be a great addition to any vintage medical instrument collection! Condition: This piece is antique and used with some wear. The microscope is hard to focus. But appears to be working as intended. It may need some slight adjustments to work perfectly, but we see magnified, lighted images when we can get it to focus a little. There is light wear to the housing with some light tarnishing on the brass. The case is in good condition, but the two drawers in the case appear to be replacements and not original. Please look closely at the photos for condition details and ask us any questions before bidding. Dimensions: The microscope itself measures 4-1/4" x 10-1/2" x 5" and the case measures 5-1/2" x 11-1/2" x 5" PLEASE NOTE- WE SHIP FEDEX WED-FRI. Description: Here is a great set of over 40 microscope slides that were used in the teaching of Medicine. Histology, Embryology, etc. They date from before the turn of the century, and were all professionally prepared by Bausch& Lomb and by Ward's Natural Science Establishment. Of course, each specimen slide is labeled and still in great condition(one is broken in half, but still usable) They are housed in their original custom hardwood box, which(as you can see in the photo) opens and allows each of the 4 trays to easily slide out(every tray has 6 slots which can hold up to 3 slides each) The trays, as well as the box, are also still in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or major scratches(the box does show some staining and signs of wear-but after 120 years I guess I would too) The box is about 9.5" x 5" x 3" ... morePlease Note: As you may know. EBay now requires a shipping cost be entered when listing an item for international sale, and it is impossible to accurately do so without knowing the final destination. The price that I have entered is just a guess to cover the cost to anywhere in the world, and you will not be charged any more than that; however, if the actual shipping cost is less, then you will be issued a refund for the difference(we never add any extra for packaging or handling, so you will pay for the actual postage only) Fine Print: We invite questions. Prefer PayPal(although we will accept all other forms of payment) ship USPS twice a week, and offer a full money back guarantee(less shipping, which we try to keep close to, or just below, the actual postal charges) No, we're not a store, a dealer or even a collector; it's just time for us to get rid of some of this stuff. Shipping will be combined whenever possible. Any"cross-hatching" in the photo is from my crummy scanner, and not on the item itself. Thanks for your time.
