And the fact that he had some of the Leitz technicians working for him, explains why his instruments are so similar in design to those of Leitz. The firm was known for high quality instruments well into the 20th century when it was eventually bought out be American Optical in 1962. The antique Carl Reichert Wien Achromatic Microscope is numbered 18298 and dates approx 1900-1905. It has lacquered brass with black enameled iron horseshoe base. The tube has four nosepiece/ objective lens Lens ... morenumbered 18b. 3, 7a(Reichert Wien) 7a(E. Leitz Wetzlar) I don't know anything about microscope therefore I took a lot of pictures to show you the condition. Antique Vintage C. Reichert Wien Early 20th Century Medical Microscope W/Box
Antique early 20th Century C. Reichert Wein medical microscope. Reichert started their company in Vienna in 1876. My research tells me this is pre 1920. However I am no expert. The microscope has a serial number and the original oak dove tailed box has the same matching number as well. The back of the box is missing but would be a simple fix. The overall condition is very nice and appears to have all its parts as shown in the photos. All working parts are functional. It is a very unique and rare piece of medical history and displays very well. Easily could be cleaned and polished and it would look like new. This was a donation to our local Church Thrift Store and all money will be used to help people in need here in Brevard County Florida. The condenser function normally with full range of iris closure. The miorror is in excellent condition on both sides. For Sale is a Vintage C. Reichert Wien Hand-Held Inspection Microscope It could have been a microscope for something else. But my research suggests it is an Inspection Microscope. The scopes and their plate are brass. I believe underneath the black paint is aluminum along with the connector(Shown in pictures) There is some newspaper stuck to places of the black paint. Amazing C. Reichert Microscope in Perfect Working Order. Wien. Circa 1920 This beautiful microscope. Almost one hundred years old, is a collector’s piece made in Wien circa 1920. It is an amazing scientific research instrument, in very good condition and in its original case. The microscope comes with a complete set of accessories too. It mounts a three-lens revolving nosepiece, all of them original from the time. The lenses are signed by the manufacturer and are quite well preserved. The instrument works perfectly and can be used to watch samples, as well as being a singularly decorative item. The microscope’s foot is made of black-lacquered iron. With a very well preserved shiny finish. At the back of this piece we can see the manufacturer’s name engraved in the metal and painted black: C. REICHERT– WIEN. The serial number is engraved just ... moreunder it: Nº 60667. The history of the firm starts in 1874, when Carl Reichert married into the Leitz family. Two years after, Reichert started manufacturing his own microscopes in Wien. By 1900 the firm had produced around 30,000 microscopes. Reichert instruments were noted for their high quality and kept on being produced until the 1960s. In this particular microscope. The Reichert name is also engraved in the three lenses. The golden brass and chromed-metal component parts are in good condition; the brass keeps the original protecting transparent lacquer with scarcely any signs of the trace of time. Last but not least, the microscope’s case is made of solid mahogany wood in magnificent condition and with the original handle, lock and key. Attached to the door we can see a plate with the name of the original distributor, located in Zagreb(Croatia) Inside the case there is a wooden stand with the lenses’ sleeves and a small box with a sample preparation kit. This is a brass G Reichert Wien objective lens. It has No. 6 on the opposite side of it. It is clear besides tiny dust particles that can be properly cleaned off the lens. The case however is not original. It is a brass case for Spencer 4mm and the lid does not tighten all the way. But does protect the objective lens. This is sold as is.
