ANTIQUE BRASS J ZENTMAYER Monocular MICROSCOPE PAT DATED AUG 1876 HISTOLOGICAL
ANTIQUE BRASS J ZENTMAYER Monocular MICROSCOPE PAT DATED AUG 1876 HISTOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION Here is a beautiful antique brass J Zentmayer microscope with patent date Aug 1876. Everything is shown in the images. The base is marked with J Zentmayer and patent date see images. I do not know much about microscopes. So I will describe to the best of my ability. This is a beautiful antique microscope made by the well know Joseph Zentmayer. from the internet: He was born in Germany. In 1826, Zentmayer emigrated to the United States, as a young man, already trained in optics and instrument making. He went into business in 1853, in Philadelphia, making his first large stand, the Grand American) around 1858. Over several decades, Zentmayer turned out a great variety of stands, from the elaborate"American Centennial" to the smaller"American ... moreHistological" and, earlier, the"United States Army Hospital" stand. Zentmayer's business remained in Philadelphia until his death in 1888, and, was carried on by his sons into the mid-1890's. The microscope is monocular. I believe it is a histological scope and is missing the mirror assembly that attaches under the platform and lenses. The previous owner made this into a kaleidoscope of some sort, so when you look into it you see a kalaidoscope pattern, this fitting slips right out. The microscope makes a beautiful display and could be used for parts or possibly restore, so it is being sold as is. A beautiful microscope to add to your collection. See images and email any questions. Keep watching for more vintage and estate items being offered now and upcoming. Combined shipping is welcome. We continue to offer an interesting array of antiques and collectible items now and upcoming. Save us to your favorites. Keep watching. Our Promise: Accurate Description. Good Communication, Thorough Packing, Timely and Very Reasonable(No Profit) Shipping, and Money Back if Inadvertently Misrepresented. We do pack extremely well although it items are lost or broken d
ANTIQUE A. KRUSS No. 250 BRASS MONOCULAR MICROSCOPE for Parts or Restore
Antique brass monocular microscope for parts or restoration. I don't know much about it but will describe what I see. It is marked"No. 250 A. Krufs( or Kruss? I think) Hamburg" The long piece measures 9 1/4" It attached to the base by a brass'ring' This'ring' is broken from the base but it is a"clean" break and could probably be repaired in the right hands. The'lens' where you look into has some spots(probably needs cleaning from the inside) and the lens in the end of this piece is loose. It will not come out but you can make it sit one way or the other. see pictures) The base is 3" in diameter and is weighted. From the bottom of the base to the highest point is 5" The small wheel on the side moves the top of the platform up and down and the wheel at the back moves a piece with ... moredifferent size holes that is between the 2 platform pieces. They both work fine. The top part of the cylinder piece has some use wear and the bottom part has a small dent. Unusual microscope! Maybe you can restore it or use it for parts. Please check out the pictures for a better idea of condition and e-mail with any questions.

Circa 1800's. ... moreThe body of the microscope is engraved with the maker's name, Powell& Lealand, London. We are not experts on antique microscopes but we will describe this as best as we can. This has a great brass body with the patina of many years of handling. It comes with an iron stand that has an adjustable table that uses a joystick type handle to position the platform. There are many places where this is adjustable. Or threaded areas to attach different lenses, etc. very complex construction for a time when transportation was by horse or possibly early steam engine railroad locomotive. We have not seen a date on it anywhere, but with photos available online, we estimate this as being from 1843-1848, a similar model identified on the Golub Collection website. The body with this unit is not attached to the stand at this time. You can see mounting holes on the stand and on the tube, which measures approx. 9¾" long with a lens in place. The stand stands approx. 12⅝ tall without the body in it, the platform measures approx 6" by 3¾" One of the mounting holes on the stand is compromised due to a bit of the metal being knocked away, but there

Antique brass E. Leitz Monocular Microscope, unrestored condition.
Antique brass E. Leitz Monocular Microscope. Unrestored condition. This is an Ernst Leitz microscope No. 224377. Note: it appears to be all original Leitz except the nosepiece is from a Spencer. Large Antique c.1860 Victorian Brass Monocular Microscope
Large Antique c.1860 Victorian Brass Monocular Microscope Offered here is a large c.1860 Victorian all brass microscope. Closely resembles examples by Baker& Ross however I'm not finding a makers mark anywhere. The instrument stands on a massive"Y" shaped base with heavy uprights supporting the main body on trunnions. At the base is a large two sided mirror on gimbal. Minimum height 14-1/2" extending to 20-1/2" by rack and pinion and telescoping body tube. Weighs just over 9 pounds. Fine focus is mounted on pivoting arm, optics are clear with all lenses intact, tested with glass slide for clarity& focus(works great) All adjustments working smoothly including the sliding stage which moves in two directions, nothing stripped or broken. Issues~ Fine adjustment needs a part. Not broken but missing a small cam shaped ... morewasher located underneath arm. When I bought this today I thought the objective lens was missing, but found it when cleaning the optics(someone has stored it inside the tube body, apparently they did this because it's not threading) The male threads on the objective lens& the female threads on the tube look fine, they are not stripped and appear to be of the same type(I don't know why it's not fitting but I'm not messing with it) I have the first couple threads started just enough to hold the objective lens in place for the sake of taking pictures. Cosmetically the brass has lost most of it's original lacquer. There is light tarnishing across most of the surfaces and traces of brass cleaner in crevices. There are no dents or dings, no deep scratches or damaged parts. I'm not an expert on this type of thing, what I have learned was accomplished today doing research. There may be parts missing and repairs needed, view photos carefully and bid accordingly. ~ Thanks For Looking ~
