Up for auction is a vintage"Students Microscope for Mineralogy. Botany and Entomology" It comes with instructions printed in both French and English. It's ~ 2" long and ~1" in diameter. There is know lid for the box and the edges are torn on the bottom of the box. Looks to be made of brass. I didn't see who manufactured it and don't know how old it is. It works. Thanks for looking.

Vintage Spencer Lens Model ?? Spotlight / Microscope Illuminator
Vintage Spencer Lens Model? Optical Spotlight/ Microscope Illuminator From the picture. It appears the lens is in slanted. I unscrewed the back and placed the parts in correctly. I don't know what model this is but it is very early. The bottom of the stand is stamped. I62 and C.L. CO or something like that. It is difficult to read. I'm not totally sure what this is but from what I can figure out it is a microscope or spotlight. Take a look at my other items. I will consolidate shipping.

VINTAGE ANTIQUE JUG HANDLE MODEL BAUSCH & LOMB CO. MICROSCOPE WITH CASE
I happen to own a very cool and keenly designed early Jug Handle 1900's Bausch and Lomb Microscope with variable light adjustment mirror on the bottom that can be flipped to amplify light even more. As you can tell there is only one top focal piece which does not seem to be removable or stationary at any position but can easily be raised or lowered. The lower magnifiers are easily switched by turning the mechanism either to the right or left. At present the microscope sits a 11.5 inches but can as high as 14 inches. The items seems to never have been professionally polished and has what appears to be blued iron with brass. The item could clean up really well if you are into that sort of thing. All knobs are smooth and appears to be operational. I have peered down through the whole but have not tried to focus in on anything currently. ... moreBut I can see that there are no major obstructions to doing so. Below the platen, is an aperture control such as the shutter on a camera. It seems to be functional, but is a bit bent slightly at the closed position from a bit of misuse or old age. The Case- Seems to be the original case and is made purely out of some kind of hard wood but can not be totally for sure. If you look closely at the finish. It seems to have set out in a moist area for some time and allow the case to mildew which has dicolored the varnish a bit. Looking at the front, it appears that there is a small label that says Microscope, yet is hard to make out. Some clown, at some time, decided that he'd be a wise guy and appeared to have slightly carved a larger spelling of Microscope on to the wood but is barely noticeable, but I wanted to mention that. The lock mechanism seems to be intact but there is no key. Baucsh& Lomb must have been in Rochester. NY because I can see it on the lower magnifying lenses which also can be removed for examination or replacement. Inside the case. There seems to be some kind of area that would hold more lenses, but I am not able to remove or jar the wood holder away from

RARE VINTAGE VON RAPPARD SLIDES. CIRCA 1800- 1900 A set of rare vintage Von Rappard slides. Circa 1800- 1900. These slides were prepared by Conrad Von Rappard, Switzerland. Conrad Von Rappard was born in 1805 in Unna Westphalia, Prussia. One of his ventures led him to biology and an interest in microscopy. He established the company Microscopical Institute of August Menzel and Co. in Switzerland about 1850, which meant"microscopy business" This was one of the first businesses of its kind in Switzerland. More like a microscopical preparation service. He received his doctrate in 1852 on his studies of synaptae. His work led him to many European coasts where he studied sea life, as many of his slides were marine biology life. His slides were a black with gold pattern paper wrapped slides, both in the traditional 1' x 3" but ... morealso in the continental size, 2 5/8" x 5/ 8" His slides also had a specific pattern on the reverse side of the slide. These numbers were better for the identification of his slides rather than writing because his slides reached many international markets. Each set of slides included a booklet or guide to serve as a key to the slides. This set of slides has 15 slides and comes with a paper written guide to the identification of the slides. Some of the slides area missing- 3,4,5,6,7,10,11,17 and18. The paper guide describes 24 slides. There are few slides that have cracks in the paper wrapping but the cracks do not interfere with the overall slide. Slide 15 has a crack in the coverglass but is not broken and does not interfere with the specimen. There is no box for this set of slides but I will provide a box for them to be stored. Vintage C. Reichert Wein brass microscope. It is signed"C. Reichert Wein No 60067" on the base and measures approx. 11" tall in the closed position. It is also signed"C. Reichert Wein" on the front of the barrel in large block letters. It has the standard complement of three objectives: a 7a x 60x. 3 10x and another that says Reichert Austria No. 57768. All are signed by C. Reichert and are in really great condition. Course focus is tension adjustable, rack and pinion. Fine focus is delicately controlled with a knob on the top limb.Tension adjustment is with a small thumb screw on the back. The square vulcanite stage has a sub-stage, swings-out Abbe condenser with variable iris control and swing-out filter holder.The piano concave mirror is great on both sides. The original lacquer finish is also in good condition ... morewith some minor spotting. The microscope comes with its own finely made wooden case with matching serial number. Inside the case is a small accessory drawer and a pull out tray for holding the lenses and eyepieces. Oil Cedar, and microscope cover glasses from this era are also included. The box comes with the original key for the locking mechanism(Which works) The superior optical system, and fully regulated controls make this a microscope as practical today as it was over 100 years ago. Antique German brass microscope. Marked E. Leitz Wetzlar Germany No. 250088 Very good condition; I do not see anything wrong with it. No scratches, dents or damage that I can see. It came from the estate of a doctor who had a large collection of microscopes. This was on a shelf in his home library. It appears to have been well taken care of. As to whether it is in working condition. My best guess is that it probably is functional, considering where it came from and how it was stored and displayed. I am not a science person, nor an expert on microscopes, and only remember how to use one from high school science classes, but from what I can see, it is in very good to excellent condition, and all the knobs rotate freely and easily. What a great find. Looks like a beautiful museum piece. For it's age I would say condition is decent. Microscope moves and appears to function but the lens are dirty and need to be cleaned. To be fully functional I would believe it needs a good thorough cleaning/ oiling ect. It appears to be mostly complete. Pictures show the different lens and eyepieces that are included. The wooden case has some wear. It has a crack on one side but is still solid and working. The lock is broken and appears the key broke off inside of it. Antique German brass microscope. Marked: E. Leitz Wetzlar Germany No.152080 Good vintage condition; there are some signs of wear: there is a chip on two of the corners of the flat surface where the slide goes. The japanning on the cast iron base shows wear. It came from the estate of a doctor who had a large collection of microscopes. This was on a shelf in his home library. It appears to have been well taken care of. As to whether it is in working condition. My best guess is that it probably is functional, considering where it came from and how it was stored and displayed. I am not a science person, nor an expert on microscopes, and only remember how to use one from high school science classes, but from what I can see, it is in very good condition, and the knobs rotate freely and easily. Antique-Vintage Hydrometer - Wooden Case. Wine, Alcohol, Beer Home brew making.
This hydrometer collectible dates from between the late 1890's to about 1920. It was used in wine. Alcohol and/or beer making. Breweriana collectors will love this item. Great present for the collector. I'm not sure if the hydrometer is sterling silver or another silver colored metal. But it has a very unusual and decorative bulb. The stem is numbered from 0 to 20. I have seen no other so decorative or ornate. It is a very special piece when paired with its own personal contoured wooden case. The carved wooden case. Which looks to be carved from a single solid piece of wood(see last picture) fits the hydrometer snugly and is lined with a deep purple velvet cloth on both top and bottom. There is obvious ware on the lining but still in very good condition. The stem is loose from the base(see picture#11) but. If desired, can easily be ... morerepaired. Well. Here is a very cool looking vintage time machine. I purchased this from the estate of a man who owned a high end electronics store. He said one day a guy came in looking a bit frazzled with this under his arm looking to have it repaired. He claimed it was a time machine that had broken. The owner of the shop said the guy was frantic and kept looking around as if someone was watching him. Something in his pocket started beeping and the man said he would be back shortly and ran out of the store. He had written the name" J.Titor" on a repair tag that was on the counter. The shop owner who I purchased this from said the man never came back and it sat in his shop for years. When he closed the shop he kept it for years sitting on a shelf, but decided to sell it recently as he was in the process of moving. Not sure what to make of ... morethis story. But it's a cool looking object. King of looks like an oscilloscope. Might be good to use the knobs for some cool looking guitar pedals. Looks to be in pretty good shape. Vintage Bausch& Lomb Optical Company Lamp type 21-47-47. Originally used by an ophthalmologist to melt the rubber end onto glasses. That's how they got their form. Has the original infrared bulb. Mirror is two sided but the strut that holds it to the scope frame is missing. The wooden box says made in Japan on it and has a screw that holds the scope in place and it holds the extra lenses and eyepieces as well.

From an old Oyster Bay. Long Island, New York Estate comes this" Miniature" MICROSCOPE. I do not know much else about this item. It is INTRIGUING. I'll venture a guess that the metal is Brass- only a hunch. For its size, the weight is somewhat dense. There is a leather banding toward the top that is wearing. The Microscope stands approximately 1 1/2 inches high, by about 1 inch wide. The circular disc revolves. There is a manufactured small hole. Vintage Traveling Microscope, Philip Harris, Birmingham, England. Brass
Here we have a Vintage Venier Measuring'Traveling' Brass Microscope manufactured by Philip Harris. Birmingham, England. Background: Like a conventional microscope. A travelling microscope has a head fitted with lenses which can be used to magnify and focus on a small object. The head, however, is mounted on a slider which can be moved along a scale. With the object fixed in place, the head can be manipulated to take measurements of the object being studied. Classically, a travelling microscope uses a Vernier scale, a very precise type of scale utilized for scientific measurements because of its extreme accuracy and ability to measure very small increments. Although the traveling microscope is mobile, it has a number of moving parts and it can be fairly heavy. The scope itself is attached to a cast-iron base and it can be adjusted ... morewith as many as 3 screws. This is a wonderful example of a traveling microscope made by the high quality medical supplier of their day. Philip Harris, located in Birmingham, England. This instrument has a very heavy, japanned, cast iron base, with a calibrated brass traveling track for the scope to slide on. The compound scope has a 5" sliding tube within which is another 3-1/2" sliding tube that holds the ocular. The Brass objective does not have any power or length markings. The black moving carriage that slides along the track has a small venier scale. The carriage also alows for the scope tube to be adjusted in many different directions. There is a locking adjuster and an adjuster to set stop limits on the track. There are no cracks, breaks in this instrument. A very nice example to add to your collection. A Vintage Early 1900's 32 oz. Whitall Tatum Co. Graduated Footed Lab Beaker with Pour Spout. This glass beaker measures approximately 8" inches tall x 4 5/8" inches at the top and weighs over 2 pounds. The base measures approximately 3 1/4" inches in diameter. There is numbering for 2. 4, 8, 12, 16, 24& 32 oz. measuring as well as numbering and for 1/4,1/2, 1 Pint and 2Pints measuring. The beaker has various marking which we photographed but are not familiar with. This quart beaker is in good vintage condition with no chips or deep scratches.

Perfect working condition– tested the burner itself appears tobe made from stainless steel. This type of small portable spirit/ methylated alcochol burner was also used in medicine for sterilization of smaller medical instruments by doctors. Surgeons and nurses on visits and by army medics in field hospital environment. The sterilization process was easy to conduct in almost any conditions if site was sheltered from wind. Burner was filled with liquid fuel from bottle. Set up on unfolded tripod, on top of wich was placed the sterilization container to be heated. This working Bausch& Lomb"Contintental" microscope was made in ca. 1897, so it is almost 120 years old. This microscope is a part of medical history. Microscope Body- Wonderful condition on the brass microscope body. It has a great patina though there are some blemishes and small defects. But all below the norm for a microscope of this age. It will probably look great once it is polished/cleaned, but I'll leave that determination to the new owner. Please look at all the pictures for exact condition of the body. All parts seem to move freely. I viewed an onion skin with#2 eyepiece and 2/3 ocular and it focused fine and edges of image were sharp ... moreand clear. Some wonderful information on these microscopes on There are some differences. But certainly in the same family. From the same website. Here is a link for an original catalog from Lock is intact. But not working. No key. The door was at some point forced open, but all pieces appear to be there. Wood Case- Good condition. Appears to be original. Nice patina. Some blemish of some sort on the top and various scratches on the exterior(See pictures) Very nice vintage handle. Interior is fitted to the microscope. There is a top drawer with vintage scalpel. On the inside of the door are 8 custom holders containing 3 lens cases for the microscope lenses and one of the eyepieces. One of those holders is either missing or is meant to fix something else. You can see in the pictures a small crack on one of the back corners. 1& 2 Eyepieces and 2/3. 1/6& 1/12 lenses. The#1 eyepiece + 1/12 lens gives a 900x magnification.
