Antique Vintage German Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope #2
Antique German brass microscope. Marked E. Leitz Wetzlar Germany No. 250088 Very good condition; I do not see anything wrong with it. No scratches, dents or damage that I can see. It came from the estate of a doctor who had a large collection of microscopes. This was on a shelf in his home library. It appears to have been well taken care of. As to whether it is in working condition. My best guess is that it probably is functional, considering where it came from and how it was stored and displayed. I am not a science person, nor an expert on microscopes, and only remember how to use one from high school science classes, but from what I can see, it is in very good to excellent condition, and all the knobs rotate freely and easily. Vintage American Optical Model 361 Lamp This v intage American Optical Model 361 microscope lamp is used. The lamp has been maintained in good working and cosmetic condition. The lamp is rated to contain a regular 60 Watt light bulb. The lamp has a translucent frosted blue filter measuring approximately 2.5 x 3.5 inches. The outside of the filter is nice and clean; the inside surface needs cleaning. Switching the lamp on produces a light that does not appear too attenuated. A curious feature to the lamp is a thin metal flap hanging down from two screws from the top of the lamp housing. The base measures approximately 5.5 inches square. What a great find. Looks like a beautiful museum piece. For it's age I would say condition is decent. Microscope moves and appears to function but the lens are dirty and need to be cleaned. To be fully functional I would believe it needs a good thorough cleaning/ oiling ect. It appears to be mostly complete. Pictures show the different lens and eyepieces that are included. The wooden case has some wear. It has a crack on one side but is still solid and working. The lock is broken and appears the key broke off inside of it. For this item please inspect and study the images as they are your best description. There should be no need for returns but as an antique item like this it sells for AS IS. Antique German brass microscope. Marked: E. Leitz Wetzlar Germany No.152080 Good vintage condition; there are some signs of wear: there is a chip on two of the corners of the flat surface where the slide goes. The japanning on the cast iron base shows wear. It came from the estate of a doctor who had a large collection of microscopes. This was on a shelf in his home library. It appears to have been well taken care of. As to whether it is in working condition. My best guess is that it probably is functional, considering where it came from and how it was stored and displayed. I am not a science person, nor an expert on microscopes, and only remember how to use one from high school science classes, but from what I can see, it is in very good condition, and the knobs rotate freely and easily. It comes with a very tall beautiful GLASS VESSEL(Bell Jar) enclosure that envelopes the microscope. antique jug handled Bausch and Lomb microscope made in Rochester NY. Estimated ed about the early 1900's. $ eyepieces 3, X4, X6, X10. Lenses 21mm, 16mm, 4mm, 1.215mm. It has a substage condenser. Mirror is two sided but the strut that holds it to the scope frame is missing. The wooden box says made in Japan on it and has a screw that holds the scope in place and it holds the extra lenses and eyepieces as well.

From an old Oyster Bay. Long Island, New York Estate comes this" Miniature" MICROSCOPE. I do not know much else about this item. It is INTRIGUING. I'll venture a guess that the metal is Brass- only a hunch. For its size, the weight is somewhat dense. There is a leather banding toward the top that is wearing. The Microscope stands approximately 1 1/2 inches high, by about 1 inch wide. The circular disc revolves. There is a manufactured small hole. Here we have a Vintage Venier Measuring'Traveling' Brass Microscope manufactured by Philip Harris. Birmingham, England. Background: Like a conventional microscope. A travelling microscope has a head fitted with lenses which can be used to magnify and focus on a small object. The head, however, is mounted on a slider which can be moved along a scale. With the object fixed in place, the head can be manipulated to take measurements of the object being studied. Classically, a travelling microscope uses a Vernier scale, a very precise type of scale utilized for scientific measurements because of its extreme accuracy and ability to measure very small increments. Although the traveling microscope is mobile, it has a number of moving parts and it can be fairly heavy. The scope itself is attached to a cast-iron base and it can be adjusted ... morewith as many as 3 screws. This is a wonderful example of a traveling microscope made by the high quality medical supplier of their day. Philip Harris, located in Birmingham, England. This instrument has a very heavy, japanned, cast iron base, with a calibrated brass traveling track for the scope to slide on. The compound scope has a 5" sliding tube within which is another 3-1/2" sliding tube that holds the ocular. The Brass objective does not have any power or length markings. The black moving carriage that slides along the track has a small venier scale. The carriage also alows for the scope tube to be adjusted in many different directions. There is a locking adjuster and an adjuster to set stop limits on the track. There are no cracks, breaks in this instrument. A very nice example to add to your collection. This working Bausch& Lomb"Contintental" microscope was made in ca. 1897, so it is almost 120 years old. This microscope is a part of medical history. Microscope Body- Wonderful condition on the brass microscope body. It has a great patina though there are some blemishes and small defects. But all below the norm for a microscope of this age. On the inside of the door are 8 custom holders containing 3 lens cases for the microscope lenses and one of the eyepieces. One of those holders is either missing or is meant to fix something else. You can see in the pictures a small crack on one of the back corners. 1& 2 Eyepieces and 2/3. 1/6& 1/12 lenses. The#1 eyepiece + 1/12 lens gives a 900x magnification. His father following in the footsteps of his older brother entered medical school a Ohio State University in 1940 and purchased this microscope. After graduation he started a pratice in Western Ohio and used the microscope at his practice until he retired. I am not familiar with microscopes. So I do not know how to test it. This tested vintage Ernst Leitz Wetzlar microscope was made ca. 1948. The receipt shows that this was purchased on Sept. 30th. 1948 at the Army PX in Frankfurt, Germany for $67.50. A nice little piece of provenance that someone was thoughtful enough to keep that slip of paper. Microscope Body- Wonderful condition on the microscope body. The black body is free of almost any scuffs or scratches. It appears that it might never have been used professionally. One side of the mirror has some age issues. But the opposite side does not. You can see those blemishes in the picture of the mirror. The lenses are VERY clean. Please look at all the pictures for exact ... morecondition of the body. All parts seem to move freely. There are some discolorations on the stage, but those will probably come out with cleaning. I viewed the paper receipt and it focused fine and edges of image were sharp and clear. That is the extent of the test to which I can confirm that it is"working. Beyond that. The item should be considered as described. Lock is intact. But there is no key. Wood Case- Very good condition. Appears to be original. Nice patina. Appears to be made of mahogany with some amazing dovetail work. There are some scratches on the exterior commensurate with its age. Vintage C. Reichert Wein brass microscope. It is signed"C. Reichert Wein No. 60067" on the base and measures approx. 11" tall in the closed position in large block letters. It has the standard complement of three objectives: a 7a x 60x. 3 10x and another that says"Reichert Austria No. 57768. All are signed by C. Reichert and are in great condition. Course focus is tension adjustable, rack and pinion. Fine focus is delicately controlled with a knob on the top of the limb.Tension adjustments is with a small thumb screw on the back. The square vulcanite stage has a sub-stage, swings-out Abbe condenser with variable iris control and swing-out filter holder. The piano concave mirror is great on both sides.The original lacquer has some age spots on it. The microscope comes with its own finely made wooden case with matching serial ... morenumber. Inside the case is a small accessory drawer and a pull out microscope cover glasses from this era are also included, as depicted in the attached photographs. The box comes with the original key for the locking mechanism. This microscope is a great piece for any collector of antiques. The microscope weighs 9 lbs. and 14. 5 oz. The box weigh's 5 lbs. and 3.5 oz.

This model has a double nosepiece and original eyepiece. The optical system produces clear images and good contrast. Coarse focus is rack and pinion. Fine focus with micrometer knob. It moves up and down but gets a little hung up about half way. The original lacquered brass finish has tarnish and is in good overall vintage condition. This antique Bausch and Lomb microscope has a serial number that dates the instrument's manufacture to 1902. It features a single B&L signed Series 1 1/6 objective lens as well as its original signed eye piece. Interesting design does not feature turn knobs but rather a sliding tube for coarse adjustment. UP FOR AUCTION IS A VINTAGE RUSSIAN MADE MICROSCOPE. I believe this was from the era of the Cold War. Comes in metal"James Bond" style metal case with Russian markings. I didn't put it together. But you can see it has lenses and eyepieces as well as a few cups for holding specimens. Also comes with a AC plug. I have not plugged it in, so do not know if it works and am selling"as is. It appears to be in nice shape. The only flaw I can see is a dent in the top of the carrying case. The case measures about 10 1/2" x 12" x 4 1/2. Vintage 1919 Bausch & Lomb Jug Handle 2 Objective Lens Microscope Serial #139747
Up for auction is Vintage 1919 Bausch& Lomb Jug Handle 2 Objective Lens Microscope Serial#139747. The date was determined by the serial number and corresponding manufacture date from Bausch& Lomb website. It was made in Rochester. NY. There are two objective lenses– 4mm and 16mm. There is a coarse and fine focus. All parts turn smoothly including the diaphragm. Mirror, fine focus and objective lenses which click into position like the day it was built. The microscope has not been tested or fine tuned and nothing appears broken. Condition Issues: Concave mirror is in good condition with two little spots. Flat mirror has about 40% of the mirror spotted. Cast iron base shows corrosion and most of the black paint has flaked off. Stage clips are taught but can move freely and show slight corrosion. Diaphragm opens and closes freely. Fine ... moreand coarse focus move freely. Objective lenses move freely. Body shows black enamel wear above‘Bausch& Lomb Optics’ where a tag was stuck by a technician back in 1941 who reconditioned the unit– I’ll include this if it matters to anyone– not shown in images. Antique Vintage Microscope Objective Brass Case - 1
You are bidding on an original microscope objective brass case. Sometimes called a can. From the photos you will see it is unmarked as to maker. It bears the numeral"1" on the top. This will make a wonderful conversation piece or an addition to a collection. The craftsmanship is from a bygone era. Seldom to be found in today's throwaway world. It has a finely threaded screw-on top which screws on and off perfectly. It measures 23.5 mm in diameter and 56.4mm in height. I am reducing my collection and selling other microscope objective containers and an additional objective. Feel free to look at my other listings. I am not an optics or microscope expert.
