Top of microscope expands up and down freely. Microscope has no maker identification on it, nor the box. I have seen other field microscopes similar that were made by"The Harvey Lewis Co. and other that were made in Germany. I am not sure if this one is either. There is a date inscribed on the inside of the box. 7/30/25. With the initials J.J.H. Also included is 1 prepared glass slide and 1 tweezer. The box has two clasps that hold it closed. There is a crack through the bottom side of the box. But it does affect the integrity. Microscope measures: expanded) 7 1/8" x 1 7/8 at the base Wood box measures: 7" X 2 3/4" X 2 1/8" Take home this great piece of early history. Will pack carefully. Circa 1898 Leitz Wetzlar Microscope. No. 48756. Includes original wood box with original key. Slide holder is housed in its original case. There is also an extra lens which is shown to the left of microscope in 1st photo. The lenses have brass cases. Which are stored inside the case. The case has a couple cracks on the inside. The wood case that holds the slide holder has a missing piece(see last photo) This box does not slide well into the case. This microscope has scratches but is overall in very good condition.

Vintage Brass Magnifier / Microscope Set, Circa 1800-1900's
VINTAGE BRASS MAGNIFIER/ MICROSCOPE SET. 1800- 1900'S A set of unique early brass magnifier/ microscopes. The first small magnifier is a"universal" microscope used as a magnifier for small natural objects. Nice lacquered brass finish. The next magnifier is a"tripod" used for small stationary objectives. An often used as a map magnifier. Nice brass magnifier. The third magnifier, an unusual brass cylindrical"insectoscope" This little instrument consists of a brass cylinder case that measures 2 inches in height and 1 inch in diameter. The actual"livebox" magnifier unscrews from the brass case and slides out. The wall of the livebox has 2 small viewing windows for observation that measure about 1 inch in length and about 5/8 inches in height. The bottom of the livebox has a plastic-like floor to view ... morethe insects or objects by inverting the livebox upright, and this floor can be unscrewed from the brass livebox. At the top of the livebox is the actual eyepiece-magnifier lens, which can also be unscrewed. The magnification is excellent! The lacquered brass finish is in good condition. A similar instrument can be seen in Billing's Microscope Collection, p. 201, Figure 291. This instrument is unsigned but similar instruments were made by a Frenchman, F. V. Raspail. There is no cardboard or leather case for the instrument, just the brass cylindrical case. The 4th magnifier is also a"flea-like" microscope. Brass, twists to raise or lower to magnify- see" thread-like design in the" middle of the scope- see image. As you twist the magnifier. It will magnify the object. See the images with the magnifier lens. The final microscope is a botanical microscope, also known as a"flower" magnifier. There is a part of the magnifier lens missing and the thumb-screw that moves along the arm that extends from the body of the microscope. But it is still a good representation of the time period. A nice set of vintage magnifiers!

The microscope scope and the lens and objective case and dials are made of metal. The black painted part of the microscope stand are in very good shape. The eye lenses have a 10x and 15x. They are both Zeiss eyepieces. There are no dates noted on the microscope or accessories. The serial number of 250927 is on the microscope would make it as having been produced around 1911-1912. The mirror at the bottom of the scope is two sided. Not cracked or blistered, but the mirrored surface does show some wear(loose from stand) The glass for the lens ... moreand objective are dusty and may have some minor scratching. I see no blistered cracked or missing glass in the lenses or objectives. The microscope is 12.5" tall. By 5-3/8" across, by 8" wide. Nice what appears to be the original wood case. The wood case is intact, still has its' lock, and the key that works it. There is a slide drawer holding all the eye lenses and then a drawer on the right side that has nothing in it but holes to hold some accessories. There is also a metal box the has a blue shade that is electrified. Also a plastic cover that can be put over the microscope when it is out of the case. The objectives are a 8(2) A 40(65.17) and a 90(1.25) Handle is still on the top of the case. Great etching into the metal body and plate of the name of the company. A really nice Spencer microscope in brass and cast black painted metal. This piece has three lenses along with swing out underside style lens. In good condition with some wear from use. A stain to the brass on the right side by the platform. Top of the under lens has some corrision to the metal. The base has some loss to it's black paint. The microscope has all of it's parts working and functional. The eyepiece is 10x. Comes with a wooden case with key. The top of the case is marked- E. Leitz N.Y. The case measures 13 1/4" tall. 6 1/2" wide and 7 1/2" deep. A fine looking old microscope.

The Nikon H(Hand" was designed in the 1960s by Nikon after the introduction of the commercial model of McArthur's folded optics microscope by Vickers in the 1950s. However. Nikon took the concept many steps ahead and produced one of the most sophisticated portable microscopes ever to be made. It is considered by many the best field microscope of all times. Production ceased in the late 1960s. Nikon H was also the first microscope to operate in space. During the first Skylab mission of NASA in 1973-4. This microscope was used in an experiment examining the effects of space conditions on bacteria and spore. For more details about this unique and ingenious microscope. Please take the time to view all of the images to confirm what you will be getting. The microscope is in proper working condition. It has been tested and found to be properly working. With the battery compartment clean, the bulb(which is the original type of flashlight bulb of the 1960's) still functions(see photos) The ocular is clear(but it can use some delicate cleaning) and the objectives are perfect. The paint seems to have been repaired in one area on the right side of the ocular tube. The stage clips, clips holder and one of the tiny strap hooks below the ocular are missing. The leather case has been repaired in the past with the two strap hooks being efficiently glued back in place by some sort of strong solder. Because of these issues I list this microscope with a low BIN price of about $1000 less than the current value of a microscope of this kind in very good condition and with the original box. However. Vintage 1883 Bausch & Lomb Microscope in Original Case - Very Rare. Serial #2165
Vintage 19th century Bausch& Lomb Microscope. Very rare and early model. With an extremely unusual design. This was made for the Arthur H Thomas Company. I researched the very low serial number of 2165 and it indicates a manufacture date of 1883! I discovered this item at a farm estate sale, and the family members only thought their father had bought it at a state liquidation sale decades before, and remember him using it from time to time. I am not an expert at microscopes and may not use the exact terminology, but I will do my best. I have been told this was a"comparison microscope" but cannot confirm that information. It certainly is very different from any other microscope that I have ever seen. Many of the components are made from brass, cast or stamped metal. It appears to have been well maintained, and has no major damage ... morethat I can see. I have not cleaned the lenses, and only given the outside a very gentle cleaning to remove dust. There are two hexagonal focusing prisms which work independently of each other, and are fully functional through their designed range of operation. The left and right focusing knobs move freely, with circular brass slide holders. Mirror rotates freely and is intact, but clouded. It has a removable steel lens cover. Original dovetail joint wooden box with functional hinge and clasp. It has normal wear, with surface scratches/chips and one burn mark at the top corner of the box(see pictures) I have no slides or other items with the microscope, other that what is seen in the pictures. Vintage, Miniature, Brass, Field Microscope, Made in Germany
Very nice. Pocket size, field microscope. When assembled it stands just 3.5 inches tall, the cylinder with eyepiece is 2 inches long and 1 and 3/8 inches across. The cylinder appears to be brass with an Bakelite eyepiece. The sturdy base is steel painted black and the mirror is double sided: one side is the actual casing which appears to be polished stainless steel and acts as a mirror while the other is an enclosed glass mirror. I imagine this is to give 2 different intensities of reflected light dependant on the subject to be viewed. The underside of the cylinder has Made in Germany stamped into the metal. see photo) The operation is quite simple, by depressing the 2 spring loaded pins on the sides of the cylinder an opening appears into which the slide is inserted. The mirror swivels to allow maximum light and the focusing is done by turning ... morethe Bakelite eyepiece. There are no date markings on the piece so I’m unsure of it’s actual date of manufacture. All parts are in excellent condition and move smoothly. Antique Vintage Leitz Minor Folding Traveling Microscope w/Case Lens Condenser
You are looking at a Leitz"Minor" microscope in very fine condition-not exactly the sort of microscope usually found on ebay. This may be the best surviving example. If you scour the internet. Or look in any of the major microscope museums, you won't find one this nice. Its' lenses are optically perfect; it appears to have seen little use, and has been cared for by someone intelligent who knows how to use microscopes. Even the numbers on the tube are unscathed by case rub. I bought it a few years ago for approximately $1800 US with intention of using it on an expedition that never materialized. It is awesomely light and small, complete with all accessory lenses, the condenser, the stage clips, filters, iris, oculars et all. It spent several decades in a glass display, but the case did not, so the case is less than perfect, ... morebut complete and fully functional. Fully accessorized, its' magnification goes from 8 to 250X, and it has zoom functionality. The lenses are unique to this particular scope; however, other RMS Leitz objectives work just fine, making the magnification useful for bacteriology. Light in your backpack to remote areas, or fine in your microscope collection; this is likely your only chance at one of these tis nice. Vintage Brass Field Microscope with wooden case base
The images are actual photos of the Microscope. The body of the microscope is brass and measures 5 inches in height and extends by one inch. All pieces move freely and join together well. I cannot find any name on the device/pieces only numbers on some. The tweezers do have the word Depose on the top. Three lens eye pieces(Brass) are in the set. One is missing its lens. They are numbered 1. 2, 3. The mirror has some paint lost under the glass. The slide surface glass is clear and chip free. The case is not original to the microscope. I believe it is a reproduction of what the original case looked like. The construction is excellent on the case. Tight dovetail joints and brass screws on the top. The exterior wood is oak. Vintage Spencer Lens Model? Optical Spotlight/ Microscope Illuminator From the picture. It appears the lens is in slanted. I unscrewed the back and placed the parts in correctly. I don't know what model this is but it is very early. The bottom of the stand is stamped. I62 and C.L. CO or something like that. It is difficult to read. I'm not totally sure what this is but from what I can figure out it is a microscope or spotlight. Take a look at my other items. I will consolidate shipping.

VINTAGE ANTIQUE JUG HANDLE MODEL BAUSCH & LOMB CO. MICROSCOPE WITH CASE
I happen to own a very cool and keenly designed early Jug Handle 1900's Bausch and Lomb Microscope with variable light adjustment mirror on the bottom that can be flipped to amplify light even more. As you can tell there is only one top focal piece which does not seem to be removable or stationary at any position but can easily be raised or lowered. The lower magnifiers are easily switched by turning the mechanism either to the right or left. At present the microscope sits a 11.5 inches but can as high as 14 inches. The items seems to never have been professionally polished and has what appears to be blued iron with brass. The item could clean up really well if you are into that sort of thing. All knobs are smooth and appears to be operational. I have peered down through the whole but have not tried to focus in on anything currently. ... moreBut I can see that there are no major obstructions to doing so. Below the platen, is an aperture control such as the shutter on a camera. It seems to be functional, but is a bit bent slightly at the closed position from a bit of misuse or old age. The Case- Seems to be the original case and is made purely out of some kind of hard wood but can not be totally for sure. If you look closely at the finish. It seems to have set out in a moist area for some time and allow the case to mildew which has dicolored the varnish a bit. Looking at the front, it appears that there is a small label that says Microscope, yet is hard to make out. Some clown, at some time, decided that he'd be a wise guy and appeared to have slightly carved a larger spelling of Microscope on to the wood but is barely noticeable, but I wanted to mention that. The lock mechanism seems to be intact but there is no key. Baucsh& Lomb must have been in Rochester. NY because I can see it on the lower magnifying lenses which also can be removed for examination or replacement. Inside the case. There seems to be some kind of area that would hold more lenses, but I am not able to remove or jar the wood holder away from
