Thin instrument has a wonderful original lacquered brass finish in excellent condition. Clean clear glass lens. No cracks, chips or scratches. No dents, cracks, nicks or wear to the brass. Antique Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Microscope, 1912
Very nice. Antique example of this fine piece of medical equipment. Found at a local estate sale, complete with original carrying case, working lock, and the key. Metal plaque at top of carrying box says. Ernst Leitz, Berlin Mikroscope& Laboratoriumsbedarf, N. W. 6 Luisen-Str.45. I've not attempted to clean the brass. Glass or any of the parts. All appear intact, with no breaks or cracks visible. This microscope saw considerable work, it seems, perhaps most evident by the character marks on the box(also, a fleck or two of paint picked up along the way) The family from whom this was bought claimed it was used by their uncle, a doctor who had immigrated from Germany; this was his personal property. Note: According to the serial number. No. 154034, this device was manufactured in 1912. The same number is stamped into the top edge of ... morethe box lid(see photos) apparently making this the original box, too. There are various accessories. Although not really a full complement: an extra eyepiece( brass and plastic cylindrical containers, small bottle of immersion oil, cedarwood oil, a few microscopic cover glass circles, two old vials of blue and red litmus paper, and cardboard glass slide holders(only a couple of glass slides, though) All fit snugly in the intact box. Early Antique Bausch & Lomb Universal Brass Microscope W/ Case and Accessories
This auction is for an amazing early Bausch& Lomb Universal brass microscope with original mahogany case. Additional lenses and accessories. This has the earlier one line patent on the side. There is an original B& L cardboard card for magnifying combinations that identify this as microscope number 3316. The scope is in great condition with no dents or scratches. The varnish is crazed in some areas. There are spots of tarnish as well. I will not clean the microscope. I will let the winning bidder decide on the finish. Everything moves easily with precision. It has four Carl Zeiss Jena eyepieces(1. 2, 3, and 6(Compens Ocular) and an adapter for them. The six needs to have the bottom lens reinserted. It looks like the retaining ring was bent. The lens has no issues. It also has five B& L eyepieces(two bases are labeled A and two ... moreare labeled C, and one labeled D but the lenses are etched A, 1, D, and unetched) There is a C base with no upper that is different from the other four. There are four objective lenses(3/4, 1/5, 1/6, and 4/10) with brass cases. There is a B& L rotating"shutter" piece(pic. 8) that when rotated closed metal shutter in the small hole. A brass adapter for an eyepiece? A dual stage adapter for the objectives. Also included is a rare example of a James L. Pease quick change adapter(patented feb. 13 1883) pic. 9) The B& L light condenser is in its original box with additional eyepiece marked 1. It is in excellent working condition. The hinge has separated from the box though. Inside the drawer is some additional equipment with a cool ivory container. Brushes, needles, objective rings some additional tools. It also has a great article from an 1870's or 1880's newspaper that describes a"sociable series" in which microscopes were the item of discussion and use. This BAUSCH& LOMB MODEL R MICROSCOPE is in excellent condition and works perfectly. The only thing you are missing are the hold downs for the slide. Bit it works perfectly well without them. The adjustment knob has very smooth action and it's easy to focus. This is the type of microscope which used to be issued to schools so it's pretty durable. On the base is the#13 marked in reds(from its classroom days) It's in its original walnut box. And front is curly walnut with a very attractive grain. Box 7 and half inches by 5 and half inches. This vintage CARL ZEISS microscope was manufactured around 1950 in Germany. This instrument is 11 1/2-inches high and sits on a round 6 1/4-inch base. It was designed to check the quality if lenses for eyeglasses/spectacles after manufacture. It comes equipped with a built-in. Working illumination system. The adjustment that controls the 8-inch horizontal plate is calibrated in millimeters. When viewing, the image has cross-hairs superimposed on a 0 to 180-degree semi-circular scale. With the light turned on, a circle of small green dots sits on top of the center of the cross-hairs, and a small illuminated circle appears with another scale from 0 to +25 and 0 to-25. The larger adjustment controls the focus and the illuminated circle setting. The smaller adjustment turns the circle scale on and off. Antique jug handle 1917 Bausch & Lomb Microscope
1917 Jug handle Bausch& Lomb microscope. Serial number on eyepiece tube is 125673. Which would correspond to a 1917 manufacture date. Course and fine focus mechanisms move smoothly and focus to a crystal-clear view. Optics are clear and sharp with great color and contrast. The plano-concave mirror is excellent on both sides. The instrument is finished in lacquered brass and painted black brass. The two objectives are engraved with Bausch& Lomb and the following: 4 mm 0.85 and 16 mm 0.25 N.A. Two metal objective containers painted black and labeled with 4 mm and 16 mm(corresponding to objectives) The eyepiece is 10X. Dovetailed, wooden case without lock, but with clasp. Box interior has had repairs. This microscope is a functional, very beautiful piece of scientific history.

Antique Bausch & Lomb Microscope Pat. Feb 16 1897 Brass 2 Lenses No 177 Optical
You are bidding on this Antique Brass Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Microscope with 2 lenses. It measures about 11 1/2 inches high when adjusted all the way down. Marked on the back knob is Pat. Feb 16 1897. On the eyepiece lens top is 7.5& in a triangle B-L Z S. The eyepiece is in very good condition. Both sides of the bottom mirror look fine. There are some marks and scratches on the brass throughout but it looks pretty good. The part that turns and the lenses screw into has a black paint coating on top of the brass. The black is flaking off in spots. The one lens is marked 1/6 and that's it. The other brass lens has"Bausch& Lomb Optical Co Rochester N.Y. 16mm 0.25 N.A. The lenses need lightly cleaned. The slide clips are ok. As is the deck(shows some wear) There is the number 177 on the black cast iron bottom(underneath) ... moreThe tilt works well. This is an old case of Micro slides. They have been washed but stained and not to be used. Only for display. Vintage use. Antique Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope with Parallel linkage No 5349
This microscope belonged to my father. What he did with it. I couldn't say. He wasn't a doctor, and actually, it was just stored away. I never saw him use it. It is in very nice condition. The brass table for slides has one place on the right side where the paint is off it in about a 1/8" area. The back of the base has some marks, something sticky that is on the paint. I didn't want to chance trying to clean them with a solvent. The lenses are all good. The fine adjustment mechanism works smoothly and has no play. The rotating disc under the table clicks in solidly to it's detents, and the mirror moves smoothly. It is certainly a nicely made instrument. I believe this style would have been considered a traveling microscope, if I am reading their history correctly. Another one like this on EBay listed it as 1908. I couldn't ... moresay for sure what year this one is. The number on the table is 5349.

Antique Brass Microscope w/ Lab. Acc.. E. Hartnack, Paris
This is one beautiful in excellent condition very old micriscope. All lenses are clean and clear. Including the mirror. No signs of damage, misuse or abuse. All functions work as brand new. This must be from the 18 hundreds. I know very little about antique microscopes as I am a machinist and can tell you this is a machinist's work of art. There is a removable compartment under the table that seems to facilitate some kind of reservoir for lab specimen viewing. It slides in and out on a dovetail. Hopefully the pictures can tell you more than I can. The barrel is engraved in script, E. Hartnack, Place Dauphine,21, Paris. I would love to keep it myself but it is on consignment and so it has to go to a real Scientist, Doctor or some medical instrument collector. Anyhow, thanks for looking and maybe even buying.

Up for bids is a wonderful brass and enamel microscope from a local estate. It come in the original case. The lenses are original and come with the small containers as well. The microscope is about 14" tall. All the moving parts move as they should. The box is worn and could stand some re-gluing. There is some wear to the scope as shown. Displays beautifully. Brass French Student Microscope with Manual & Wood Case
An excellent quality collectible! This French 3 power compound microscope was made in Paris for Perry Mason& Company located in Boston. Massachusetts in the early 1900's. This beautiful brass drum style microsope stands 6" to 7" tall depending on whether the observation tube is extended. The finish is very well preserved and the beautiful original lacquer finish only has very minor scratches for its age. The 16 page manual is fully legible and the optics and the mirror are also in excellent condition.

Vintage Bausch & Lomb Microscope 282199 with Light Source
I have a vintage Bausch& Lomb microscope that has been stored for many years in a storage shed. The microscope has a number on the front: 282199- possible 40's– 50’s. All knobs work freely and lenses look alright. The adjusting plate knob(two knobs exist side by side on the plate area) outside knob appears to be bent. But still works perfect. Microscope used to be part of the Arkansas State Board of Health. And is marked this in three areas(see Pics. Top lens is marked W10X-15.5MM. Bottom three are 97X. 43X, and 10X. Microscope is dirty here and there. And needs to be cleaned. Also included is a working light source 120v lamp with an on/off switch– all works. And lights up as shown. Rare Queen& Co microscope. Made in the 1890's. Lacks the fine adjustment so it was a lower model than the Queen Acme#5. Most likely offered in response to the Bausch and Lomb Library microscope(see drawing) to compete with their model. 10X B&L eyepiece. Cast iron base. Brass tube. Reflecting mirror is in good condition. Focus functions easily. Comes with original box with brass hinges, handle and catch. Microscope is 9 1/2" highs and weighs about 5lbs. Brass shows some wear but is overall in good condition.

Spencer No. 82 Dissecting Microscope
Chrome and paint are in good shape. One leg of the stand is marked Spencer Lens Company. A code of some sort has been scratched on the other. There does not appear to be a serial number. The box is intact with a uniform finish but looks like it is missing an internal strip on the back of the door that might have held lenses. The back of the box is held on by two brads. There is no sign of the back ever having been glued. Two lenses are supplied; a 9X marked Spencer and a 12x marked AO(American Optical) The 1924 catalog lists this as coming with either a 6x and 12x lenses or a single 9x lens.
