Up for auction is an old miniature Field Microscope. I've seen them called Drum microscopes before but not sure if that's the proper term for it. Its all brass and appears as though there was a coating of maybe lacquer or something on it to preserve the brass color. It is a very nicely detailed microscope with a cast iron base, small bottom mirror. Wonderful antique Bausch& Lomb double pillar microscope- possible circa 1880s. Everything works and the microscope is fully functional. The scope stands ~15.5 inches tall with the tube fully extended. The fine focus is on the bottom of the stage. The mirror has some silvering- see photos and the black lacquer on the base is worn in places. There is one B&L objective marked 1/2. The brass. However shines and looks great. Vintage Bausch& Lomb laboratory microscope with. The microscope is marked 236357. The microscope appears to be in good condition but I'm not sure how to use it so it is being sold as is. All parts seem to move correctly. When looking through the top lens I did see a crack in the glass. I'm not sure which glass is cracked. So please note that there is a crack when you look through the top. Other than that it appears to be pretty good cosmetically but does show some signs of age and wear and needs cleaned. Please view the pictures for details. The microscope comes with multiple lenses including a 19mm 91x oil immersion lens. A 16mm 10x divisible lens and a 4mm lens. This piece is very heavy. Antique Vintage Bausch & Lomb Jug Handle Microscope with some Nickle Plating
Antique Bausch& Lomb jug handle microscope with very nice Spencer mechanical stage. Serial number looks to be 66590. Which makes its age around 1907. This is a unique microscope because the fine and course focus nobs are nickle plated. The rest of the microscope is brass except for the base. The mirror has some minor silvering and the black lacquer shows some wear. The Spencer stage works well, the sub stage condenser is clear, and the sub stage iris works well. The three objectives are B&L and the scope comes with a 10X eye piece. This is a great fully functional jug handle microscope and will make a wonderful addition to any collection.

Estate ~ Vintage American Optical Spencer Microscope in Wood Box + EXTRA ITEMS
Spencer microscope in the original old wooden case complete with the key that locks the door! The case has the initials AO on the door that I know is American Optical. The microscope itself has the name Spencer on it with the#250048. To give you an idea of size. The case measures 15" tall x 9" wide x 8-3/4" deep. The microscope base measures approx. 8-1/2" x 5" in size with a height of approx. 13" in the cranked down position. There are a couple extras that come with this piece, the 3 boxes of slides, some sort of light called Scope light Substage lamp that looks like it was never used. There are also 2 small amber plastic bottles inside the door of the case that are not pictured. It is best that you view the photos to see exactly what I have here ~ sorry I'm not a microscope expert! Condition: The microscope ... morelooks pretty good I do not see any broken glass in the lenses or cracks to the microscope. The body appears to be brass with a blackened finish that has tiny edge wear exposing the brass. Not obvious until you look very close but I want to point it out. The scope light is in original box with very little to no use. The wooden case is covered in a sharkskin like material that is worn, the handle at the top is there but tattered. Up for auction is the vintage 1895 Leitz& Wetzlar Medical microscope. It is No.34053 which date it back to 1895. The microscope weighs about 8 pounds and is very heavy for its size. There are lenses made by Reichert in Austria and Spencer in Buffalo NY. There is also as shown in the photos the extra retractable lens on the bottom with a fish-eye type bubble up lens. There are two mirrors on the bottom holder: one on each side. GERMAN SMALL FIELD OR TRAVELING MICROSCOPE CAST IRON AND BRASS NICE WORKS
This is as found from a family estate. The optics are intact. But are dusty from storage. The brass is not polished, it is as found. The base is CAST IRON. The lens holder has thumb screws to tighten the samples in place. The only information I find is one of the sample arms says MADE IN GERMANY. The optics are INTACT. As I can see the RED GREEN AND BLUE PIXELS on my computer screen PERFECTLY! Optics are dusty. Honestly, I am amazed at clarity. It is amazing! The brass optics slide and adjust for focusing. As most of you know. I have been selling many rare slides over the past months. I will sell the remaining slides and cabinets between now and the end of the year. Hopefully sooner then later as I have to make time and room for a significant military collection I am selling. This is the microscope that came with the slides. It is rare to the point that I could not find one to price it from. I suspect it is from the mid 1800's and comes from an optical device maker in Bath England called"Braham Brothers" The microscope is marked as such as are the 3 containers for the lenses. The door of the case has shrunk with time so the lock will not reach although the key works. This is normal. The door has a very small warp from shrinkage. An antique"Argus Nr. 606" Brass Microscope. 6 3/4" high, made in Germany and housed in its original wood box, 2 3/4" x 8 9/16" x 2 1/2" high, with original hook closures. There's a paper label inside the box with some information but I don't see any maker's mark on the Microscope. GERMANY" is impressed into the 2" diameter iron base. The top section can be adjusted up and down and can also be removed from the bottom section. Condition. In good condition overall. I didn't polish the brass but left it as found. The surface of the adjustable mirror is in good condition with some oxidation across the middle section that doesn't seem to interfere with reflecting light into the Microscope. The top and bottom glass lenses are in good condition with no scratches. There is an old short closed ... morecrack in the bottom section of the brass band above the section that holds the slide that can be seen in one of the side view photos of the Microscope(as the Microscope front faces to the right) This part doesn't hold the top section in place so it doesn't affect the use of the Microscope in any way. Recently picked it up at an auction. Interesting piece. In both the way it is made, the size and the case it came in. The microscope has a black painted metal base, specimen plate, and stand. The scope and adjusting screw are brass. The case has a label on it that says the piece is circa 1920. A label on the bottom of the scope says"German" on it. Another piece of paper that came with it attributed the scope to being German and from around 1870. You be the judge of how old this piece is and where it was made prior to buying it. The one sided mirror looks intact. The lens in the eye end and the other end appear to be there. Cannot speak ... moreto their condition as not an expert of microscopes. I see no makers mark on the scope. But it definitely seems to have some age to it. The case is made of wood. The latch and screw hooks are still on the case. Hinges still there and working. The case is 2.75 tall, by 8-1/16" across, by 3.75" wide. The case corner are doweled together. The case seems to be appropriate for the scope. The microscope is 7.25" tall. Cary- Gould type antique cased brass microscope circa early 1800's This is an original early 1800's original brass field microscope of the Cary-Gould type. It measures 12 1/2" tall when mounted on the case. The plush lined mahogany case is 7.5" x 6" x 1.7" in size. It has an age crack on top and is missing its brass escutcheon plate. The microscope is all brass with much of its original lacquer retained. Some rubbing is evident and should be apparent in the photos. This is a very complete kit. It comes with three bone sliders. Four original screw-in lenses, lieberkuhn attachment, stage mounting magnifier, light-dark background disc, a single-sided mirror retaining much of it silvering, a brass stage, stage forceps, pick, and live box.
