Vintage Brass and Iron MICROSCOPE with two E. LEITZ Wetzlar LENSES
Vintage Brass and Iron Microscope. Both lenses are marked E. Leitz Wetzlar. The eyepiece can be raised and lowered easily and the 2 lower opticals rotate easily. The entire mechanism can pivot 90 degrees so the barrel is horizontal. The lower double mirror is in fine shape- no cracks. The finish on the metal has some nicks and scratches etc. as shown in the photos. Eyepiece lens marked"GRAF APSCO CHICAGO. USA 10X" Lower lenses are marked 5 and 7. All appears to be in good functional use to my untrained eye, but it would need a proper cleaning to remove the dust specks from the lenses. Even as a display piece it is simply stunning. Measures Approx: 14" tall at full height down to 11” Base is 4" x 5 1/2" Please Feel Free To Ask Questions Especially Before Bidding.

Antique Small Microscope in Wood Case No Makers Mark(German. Early 1900s? Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great piece for your buying consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. Interesting piece. In both the way it is made, the size and the case it came in. The microscope has a black painted metal base, specimen plate, and stand. The scope and adjusting screw are brass. The case has a label on it that says the piece is circa 1920. A label on the bottom of the scope says"German" on it. You be the judge of how old this piece is and where it was made prior to buying it. The one sided mirror looks intact1 The lens in the eye end and the other end appear to be there. Cannot speak to their condition as not an expert of microscopes. I see no makers mark on the scope. But it definitely ... moreseems to have some age to it. The case is made of wood. The latch and screw hooks are still on the case. Hinges still there and working. The case is 2.75 tall, by 8-1/16" across, by 3.75" wide. The case corner are doweled together. The case seems to be appropriate for the scope. The microscope is 7.25" tall. By 2.25" across, by 3`" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Three Antique microscope objectives made by the famous Carl Zeiss(Jena) 2mm. 90, 1.3) 4mm, 40, 0.95) 16mm, 10, 0.3) including the 10X ocular. All apochromatic. Circa 1925. I have left these without any restoration or cleaning, they have been stored in their cases for decades- I leave that up to an expert. I saw that a single objective went for around $80 to $90 each at auction. Sold as a set only.

The box is complete and fully intact. Including the plush fabric to protect the microscope and components. No key though. It comes with 3 lenses. A number 7. 3, and 1/12 Oil Immersion lens. It also comes with 3 eyepieces. A 3X, 6X, and a brass 4X. It even comes with some original paper(receipt maybe, its in German) It is fully functional. Recently picked it up at an auction. And remember. There is never any sales tax to our US customers as we live in Delaware, the home of tax free shopping! There were 10 microscopes recently at a high end auction that appeared to be from someone's collection or a high end store that dealt in them. I acquired 6 of them. Here is another one of them. The other microscopes will be made available for sale separately at my eBay store over the next few days as well. The microscope scope and much of the body with the exception of the base are made of brass. There is some corrosion to the brass and painted surfaces in places. The black painted part of the microscope stand is some ... moresort of other metal. There are the patent dates of October 1876 and October 1885 noted on a brass plate on the microscope. I do not see a serial number on the microscope. Nor do I see a makers mark on the scope eye lens or objective. The legs and the case of this one remind me of a Thomas Cooke microscope, but again no markings on the piece. So, you be the judge of the maker before acquiring. The scope came with a card that identified it as a English microscope circa 1860. And then that it is a bar limb design with a Varley stage. The mirror at the bottom of the scope is one sided. Not cracked or blistered, but the mirrored surface does show some wear. The glass for the lens and objective are dusty and may have some minor scratching. I see no blistered cracked or missing glass in the lens or objective. The microscope is 13.75" tall. By 4.25" across, by 5.25" wide. The microscope came with a great old case and appears original to the scope. There is a separate wood piece in the base of the case that the 3 legs fit into perfectly. The others will be made available at my eBay store over the next few days as well. The microscope stand. Scope and much of the other lenses and their cases appear to be made of brass. There is some corrosion to the brass surface in places. There was a tag that came with the microscope that ... morestated it was circa 1893. Has a graduated round stage, 4 eyepieces, with swinging substage and hemisphere diagram. The serial number on the microscope is 12068 which would seem to make it as having been produced sometime before 1893. The microscope has a bone or celluloid handle on it that allows the scope to be angled. One eBayer thinks this is a model CC microscope which stood for Circular, Centerable, referring to the stage. You be the judge as to the model of this microscope before acquiring. There are 4 eyepieces. Then three objectives(lenses) down at the bottom, a 1/12 in it's brass case and then 1/6 and 2/3 on the scope. The mirror at the bottom of the scope is two sided, not cracked or blistered, but the surface does show some wear. The glass for the lenses and objectives are dusty and may have some minor scratching. I see no blistered cracked or missing glass in the lenses or objectives. The microscope is 13.5" tall. Vintage unopened small bottle of Cedar Oil by Bausch& Lomb. Of Rochester, NY, dating from circa mid 1930s. The bottle is 2 ¼ inch tall, with a diameter of approx 7/8 of an inch, a size that makes it suitable for storage in the usual rack for objectives found in vintage microscope cases. It is wrapped in a brown see-through paper. The label says"cedar oil immersion objective" fill the dispensing bottle about a quarter to half full of cedar oil. If the bottle is more than half full. Original antique cased brass Leitz microscope slide stage This is an original brass microscope stage for a Leitz continental style microscope. It is signed. E. Leitz, Wetzler" engraved on the surface. It dates to circa late 1800's or very early 1900's. The stage measures 5" x 6" overall in its closed position. The wooden case is 6" x 5.25" x 1.75" in size. The mechanical stage fits onto the microscope stage with a pin and is secured by a thumb screw from the top. The distance between the pin and center of the screw is 1 7/16" 37mm) The screw thread is#4 metric. The stage is in full working order with smooth movements.
