PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION AND REVIEW ALL PHOTOS. As discussed. It is not 100 percent complete and there have been a couple of repairs. ANTIQUE BINOCULAR ... moreMICROSCOPE(BRASS) Attractive Engraved Signature on the Base States(Beautiful Cursive Writing) BAKER 224 High Holborn London(i.e. Charles Baker) Objective Reads: Abdn. Univ. Bot. Dept. i.e. Aberdeen University, the fifth oldest English speaking university in the world) Estimated between 1850- 1880* Stands between about 18 and 22 inches high. Depending on the position of the scope(a typical wine bottle is shown in the photos for reference) Please read the description in full. Review all photos and ask all questions prior to bidding. Happy to provide addition photos if requested. This is an antique. Likely around 140 years old, so there is some wear commensurate with age. I have provided key conditional notes based on my review of the visuals and mechanics. I am very pleased to offer this attractive antique binocular microscope by Charles Baker of London. A handsome. Stately presentation piece! This appears to be an early example of the bar-limb design first pioneered by Andrew Ross. As might be expected with a mechanical antique of this age. It is not in perfect, complete condition. Descriptions can sometimes be subjective. And details/ condition of mechanical antiques difficult to capture in photos. While I am passionate about antique microscopes and enjoy hanging onto them briefly as a hobby/ admirer. I am not able to yet call myself an expert so please review as well, and do not hesitate to ask questions/ request more photos. I have tried my best to thoroughly identify any issues/ notes based on a top-to-bottom visual review. 1. No box or other accessories included beyond shown in the photos(as is) 2. The adjustment knob controlling the vertical position of the scope works reasonably nicely between the highest and lowest position. Moves fairly smoothly and there appear to be no kinks in the treads(see photos) 3. The microsc

3 W. White / George Harris Microscope Slides
A trio of ca. 1885 microscope slides. Prepared by professional slide-maker George Harris(ca. 1835-1904) who operated under the nom-de-balsam of"W. White" His handwriting and ringing patterns are highly distinctive. The three specimens are cross sections of woods/plants. Components of plants rotate plane-polarized light. Such that they glow in multiple colors when viewed through crossed polarizing filters(polariscope) The images illustrate the same view of each specimen with normal and polariscope lighting. Polariscope images were photographed without use of a selenite filter, to show the natural effects of these preparations. Specimens are: Blue Gum Tree. Complete Set of 100 Microscope Sample Slides. Original Case. Germany, 1920s
Complete Set of 100 Microscope Sample Slides in its Original Case. Germany. 1920s Interesting microscope sample slide set made in the 1920s and conveniently stored in their protecting case. The set comes from Germany. It is the perfect complement for an antique microscope. Though the samples can also be watched with a modern instrument. The set contains one hundred sample slides, perfectly organized in their grooves and correctly labeled. The samples. As usual, rest on rectangular glass slides. All of them have a paper label with the name or description of the sample, written by hand in black ink. There are animal specimens, different substances and parts of organisms difficult to identify at first sight. Each slide is stored in its corresponding groove, duly numbered. Inside the case’s lid we can see a paper sheet, also numbered and designed ... moreto write down each sample’s description. Nevertheless, the sheet is unused. The case is flat and rectangular in shape. It is made of solid beech wood and cardboard. Outside it is lined with a black faux-leather material. With a delicate diamond-shaped print. The lining is in good condition, showing only some slight signs of wear. The case also keeps the original hinges and shutting hooks, all well preserved. In the lid we can read the inscription MIKROSKOPISCHE PRAEPARATE(German for microscope samples) engraved in the lining. Any collector of scientific antiques will appreciate the interest and beauty of this great sample slide set from the early 20th century. Measurements(Open) Width: 10.6 in/27 cm. Depth: 14.9 in/38 cm. I think I left nothing in the description but if I forgot something. I'll be glad to answer any questions. Bid with confidence. We are professional antique dealers. Hello. My name is José Pascual. 25 ANTIQUE EARLY 1900'S MICROSCOPE BOTANY SLIDES W/ DEVIL ART SIGNED SCIACCA
I am not an expert on microscope slides. I will do my best to describe these slides. The 25 slides date to the early 1900's. A couple of them have the dates on them of 1901 and 1906. I believe they are all botany related. All are labeled except 2 slides are not labeled so I don't know what they are. I am not sure but there may be a couple of duplicates or they maybe just a different stage of the species. The wood slide box appears to be original to the period. However the top of the box has interesting Devil side show art by Tom Sciacca. The box is signed by him. I can't make out all the labels on the slides but the ones I could identify are: Erythronium Albidum- Trout Lily Cladophora Vagabunda- Ocean Plant Bryopsis- Pacific Ocean Algae Vaucheria- Algae Stylophorum- Dafidell Erigenia Bulbosa- Wild Flower Cornus Florida- Flowering ... morePlant Selaginella Kraussiana- Club- most from South America Ranunculus Flower- Flower BUYER TO PAY ONLY $6.50 SHIPPING BY PRIORITY MAIL WHICH INCLUDES TRACKING NUMBER AND INSURANCE.
