Mirror Light Source Please be patient there are 15 photos to be loaded in this auction. In this auction we have a wonderful antique microscope. Circa 1800's. ... moreThe body of the microscope is engraved with the maker's name, Powell& Lealand, London. We are not experts on antique microscopes but we will describe this as best as we can. This has a great brass body with the patina of many years of handling. It comes with an iron stand that has an adjustable table that uses a joystick type handle to position the platform. There are many places where this is adjustable. Or threaded areas to attach different lenses, etc. very complex construction for a time when transportation was by horse or possibly early steam engine railroad locomotive. We have not seen a date on it anywhere, but with photos available online, we estimate this as being from 1843-1848, a similar model identified on the Golub Collection website. The body with this unit is not attached to the stand at this time. You can see mounting holes on the stand and on the tube, which measures approx. 9¾" long with a lens in place. The stand stands approx. 12⅝ tall without the body in it, the platform measures approx 6" by 3¾" One of the mounting holes on the stand is compromised due to a bit of the metal being knocked away, but there

Antique Iron & Brass Bausch & Lomb Microscope in Wood Storage Box Patent 1915
This auction is for a well preserved Bausch& Lomb brass and black painted iron microscope. It has a few small marks and imperfections. But it is in generally shiny and new condition. It has the choice of two objectives and two different eyepieces. There is a blue glass piece and an extra set of slide holders. They come in a fitted box with a small plastic cover for the microscope. The top is marked with a patent date from 1915, but I don't know it's exact age It weighs about 17 lbs. so keep shipping charges in mind when bidding! Low minimum bid, no reserve auction!

Up for sale is a vintage cast iron and brass microscope and slides. The microscope stands approximately 8" tall. Comes with the original box(which has some scratches on the surface) and a box of slides(one is missing) is working, has some isolated rust as can be seen in the photos but otherwise is in very good condition. I know little about this scientific equipment. Stored in a local home for years. I would say circa 1930s era. Maybe earlier with later fixtures. No. 282859, Germany, Overall height is 12.5 inches. Has three lens head, one is marked Bausch& Lomb, another marked SPI? PSI? This one has an electric lamp fixture, side mounted. Including electric power corded transformer and plugs. NOTE the Transformator made in Germany has bad cord. Cord has cracked and dry rotted from storage. This would need replaced. NOT TESTED. Item is SOLD AS IS, AS FOUND. All the knobs and dials are free and smooth moving. I used a flashlight and can see some light thru the lens at top. Marked C 12.5x. The square slide platform has an adjustment piece No. 48907, triple lens mount is marked 25155. I assume this will need a good cleaning, oil perhaps. May need some restoration or parts

The wood box is 6 3/4 inches long x 2 7/8 inches wide x 2 1/2 inches tall. It has brass latches. The number 84 is written on inside of lid. The microscope has an adjustable mirror to focus the light. It is 6 1/4 inches unextended and fully extended is close to 8 inches. There are no slides with the microscope. So we can't tell if it actually works properly. We can see light through the opening when the mirror is adjusted and magnification seems to increase as it extends. It marked Made in France on the side. 1. For Sale is a Vintage C. Reichert Wien Hand-Held Inspection Microscope It could have been a microscope for something else. But my research suggests it is an Inspection Microscope. The scopes and their plate are brass. I believe underneath the black paint is aluminum along with the connector(Shown in pictures) There is some newspaper stuck to places of the black paint. In the box, there is a 16mm 0.25 objective in the storage tube, 4mm and 1.9mm storage tubes for objectives, a 2 eyepiece taht seems too large for this microscope, a 5 eyepiece and an extra 10 eyepiece. The condition is excellent. With a tiny bit of paint chipping and oxidation here and there. All parts move smoothly and the knobs and aperture work as they should. Description Here is a nice 19th century brass microscope with its original wooden box in good original working condition. The brass surface has a nice patina from age and the lenses are all in good condition. The mirror has some wear and dust to the back of it and still works well when reflecting light into the lens. The lens focuses nicely by slowly twisting it in an upward or downward position. The original wooden box is in good condition with two brass catches on the front. I bought this at a Radio Swap in Michigan about 6 years ago, because of its excellent condition and impressive look. I can tell you what I know. Engraved on one of the feet is Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Rochester, N.Y. On the base at the top rear is stamped 36832. The base appears to be Solid Brass with some kind of Bone or Ivory Locking Adjustment Arm/Handle. It has 3 Objective Lens, which are marked(1) 1mm, 1/12, 1.32 N.A. 160.0mm Tube Length, 2) 2/3, 0.24 N.A. 160.0mm Tube Length, and(3) 4mm, 0.65, 43x, 2/3. The Microscope is stamped Pat. Feb. 16. 1897. There 2 Eye Pieces which are marked 1. The Objective Lens have Storage Containers, with the size stamped on top, and seem to ... morematch the lens. BRASS BOTANICAL FOLDING MICROSCOPE. Circa 1700- 1820 This special simple microscope instrument consists of a lacquered brass frame with a lens mounted with a white alabaster handle. This microscope is English made and similar to a W& S Jones instrument. Often referred to as a"flea" microscope. There is a arm extended off the brass stem to one side with a"needle" to mount a specimen for examined. The"needle" can be adjusted by loosening the thumb screw beneath and moving it forward or backwards from the lens/ objective. BRASS STUDENT MONOCULAR MICROSCOPE, Circa 1870 Victorian period microscope that has a black-iron"claw foot" base with a spread of 6" The microscope measures 1" in height and has a lacquered brass finish with no blemishes. Smooth. The mechanics contain of a rack and pinion focusing mechanism, works very well. The case has a drawer with an alabaster pull-knob that contains: an extra eyepiece, one(1) antique ringed-slide of a flea- nice preparation. There are two(2) brass objective canisters with the objectives in the canisters. The lid of the objective case has 1/4 inch on the lid and the other has 1 1/2 inch on the lid. The stage is brass and has a black revolving disc of three(3) diaphragms mounted under the stage. There is a double reflection mirror under the stage. Up for sale is this gorgeous 1912 E Leitz Wetzlar brass microscope and original box. The box has the same serial number as the microscope. Which begins with 156 giving it a 1912 manufacturing date. The Microscope is in nice condition but has not been restored. It has patina and fading on the brass and chipping to the black paint on the base. It includes 2 occulars, a 0 and a number 4. There is a single objective attached to the microscope. The box looks antique and weathered. It does not have a key and may be missing some pieces from inside. Vintage Brass Magnifier / Microscope Set, Circa 1800-1900's
VINTAGE BRASS MAGNIFIER/ MICROSCOPE SET. 1800- 1900'S A set of unique early brass magnifier/ microscopes. The first small magnifier is a"universal" microscope used as a magnifier for small natural objects. Nice lacquered brass finish. The next magnifier is a"tripod" used for small stationary objectives. An often used as a map magnifier. Nice brass magnifier. The third magnifier, an unusual brass cylindrical"insectoscope" This little instrument consists of a brass cylinder case that measures 2 inches in height and 1 inch in diameter. The actual"livebox" magnifier unscrews from the brass case and slides out. The wall of the livebox has 2 small viewing windows for observation that measure about 1 inch in length and about 5/8 inches in height. The bottom of the livebox has a plastic-like floor to view ... morethe insects or objects by inverting the livebox upright, and this floor can be unscrewed from the brass livebox. At the top of the livebox is the actual eyepiece-magnifier lens, which can also be unscrewed. The magnification is excellent! The lacquered brass finish is in good condition. A similar instrument can be seen in Billing's Microscope Collection, p. 201, Figure 291. This instrument is unsigned but similar instruments were made by a Frenchman, F. V. Raspail. There is no cardboard or leather case for the instrument, just the brass cylindrical case. The 4th magnifier is also a"flea-like" microscope. Brass, twists to raise or lower to magnify- see" thread-like design in the" middle of the scope- see image. As you twist the magnifier. It will magnify the object. See the images with the magnifier lens. The final microscope is a botanical microscope, also known as a"flower" magnifier. There is a part of the magnifier lens missing and the thumb-screw that moves along the arm that extends from the body of the microscope. But it is still a good representation of the time period. A nice set of vintage magnifiers!

This auction is for an antique. 19th century brass, field microscope with its original wooden box. Also included is a pair of tweezers, 2 blank slides wrapped in original paper and 3 specimens. The box closes with two brass catches on the front. The microscope measures 6 inches high and 1.9 inches wide. The brass surface and mirror have some corrosion. I have not tried to clean it. The mirror is missing one of it's screws. The inside box pieces need to be glued. The lenses look good. Could use some tender loving care. A great restoration project! ANTIQUE A.S. ALOE & CO. BRASS MICROSCOPE 3 LENSES (ALOE & B&L) PLUS WOOD CASE
ANTIQUE A.S. ALOE BRASS MICROSCOPE WITH 3 LENSES AND OTHER ACCESSORIES IN ORIGINAL WOODEN BOX This extraordinary microscope was made by the A. S. Aloe Company of St. Louis Missouri. The company started using the name A. S. Aloe& Company in 1885 but I have no way of knowing when the microscope was actually made. It appears to be turn of the century and all brass as far as I can tell. The microscope and two of the lens cases are imprinted A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS. But there is no serial number. Hopefully the photographs will help to date this item. The wooden case was made to house three lens cases but along the way someone crafted a second housing that holds two additional lens cases. see photo#7) The rest of the case pieces appear to be all original. There are two eyepieces- a one-inch and a two-inch. There are five brass lens cases as ... morefollows: 1) One brass case imprinted A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS and made to contain the lens that is on the microscope now. The lens is also imprinted with A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS and the designation 2/3. 2) One brass case imprinted A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS and made to contain a second lens. This lens is also imprinted with A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS and the designation TUBE LENGTH 140 1/6. 3) One brass case with no imprint at all- possibly to house a third lens if the owner ever bought one. 4) One brass case imprinted BAUSCH& LOMB OPTICAL CO ROCHESTER N.Y. NEW YORK CITY and the designation 1/12. The lens is also imprinted BAUSCH& LOMB OPTICAL CO and the designation OIL IMM. 1/12 1.30 N.A. TUBE LENGTH 160.0 MM. 5) One brass case imprinted BAUSCH& LOMB OPTICAL CO ROCHESTER N.Y. NEW YORK CITY and the designation IMMERSION OIL. The bottle is still about 1/3 full of the oil! I believe that the handcrafted two-lens housing was made to house the oil immersion lens case and the immersion oil case. The felt is still present on all of the wood pieces in the wooden case that cushion the microscope and various lenses and accessories. And in addition to the original equipment. The

Nr. 181594, Marked Microscope, Made in Germany, with it's Double Sided, Swiveling& Rotating Mirror, Top Eyepiece, and 3 lenses. Lenses are marked as follows Lens 1. 1/12" Carl Zeiss Jena 43691 HI 90 1.25" and Lens 2. D Carl Zeiss Jena 49254 40 0.65 0.17" and Lens 3. A Carl Zeiss Jena 54994* 0.2" Eyepiece is marked"Carl Zeiss Jena 10x" Condition: A used scope. But NOT as it appears to me to ever have been used as a"School, Scope. This one has far less wear& tear on it than those typically do. That said, It does have some signs of normal use, including some finish discoloration and loss, this is partially due ... moreto the fact that this Great Scope's Factory Finish is- in part- clear lacquer over an Unusually Heavy SOLID Brass/Bronze Stand or Frame. The lacquer over-coat often get's discoloration over time in spots and patches from human handling. But these areas can be buffed out to an absolutely fantastic- incredible"Golden, shine or even a mirror polish if you want to take the time to do that. Scope works. Focus and Fine Focus work, Mirror spins and revolves, Diaphragm blades open and close easily and look very good, lower stage goes up and down smoothly, tilt works fine, turret revolves just fine. M issing are the 2 hold down pins. To hold a glass slide in place, but these are usually long gone from these Antique Scopes. Side screws for adjustments on either side of the table maybe bent from falling over, or may have come that way, as they match pretty well( I am not sure how perfect any of the lenses are. But at this point in it's life, this Lovely Scope is pretty much definitely going to a Collector/Buyer for Display Only anyway, which brings me to a Main $$$$ Selling Point.
