I will be listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is a Nice ANTIQUE BAUSCH& LOMB OPTICAL CO. BRASS MICROSCOPE with WOODEN CASE. It is Serial#22928. Probably c.Late-1890's vintage. The microscope has a Patent Date of Feb. 16. 1897 on it. The microscope is in working condition. The 2 lower magnification lenses seem to magnify and focus objects fine, but I couldn't get the highest power lens to focus. Not sure why- maybe I just don't know how to properly operate machine. I know little about microscopes in general myself. Microscope looks to have it's original finish on surface. Bottom double-sided reflective mirror in good condition. The iris mechanism in the assembly above mirror opens and closes fine. The three objective lenses on microscope are Bausch& Lomb lenses. Microscope ... morewas found in this antique wooden case which has old and worn ebonized patina on exterior surface. There are no extra lenses in the box but has three empty Spencer storage tubes for lenses found in the storage racks. Also some kind of Spencer glass plate or slide of some kind with serial#5914 etched on it. Also a full bottle of Immersion Oil for objectives. The box has no key for the lock. Microscope VTG 1908 B & L Bausch & Lomb Optical Co Brass Metal Slide N. Y
For your consideration from a smoke free estate. A truly wonderful piece of vintage optical equipment. I am going to do my best to describe this antique brass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has ... morea round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

Around eye piece reads: Krauss Bausch& Lomb, Paris, Rochester, NY, USA, Tokyo, petrogram. Also on the body of mircoscope reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical co. Rochester, NY, USA. The piece on the eye of the microscope looks to be 20x wide F. There is also maybe a serial number on the eye piece: 121604. This mircoscope measures 11 1/2" tall and does show some wear and age as shown in pictures but I don't see any broken pieces or cracks. Please pay within 3 days after auction has ended. Antique Bausch & Lomb Microscope Jug Handle Brass Lab Equipment Science
You are bidding on a Antique Bausch& Lomb Microscope with a jug handle. It measures 5 4/8" x 4" x 12 4/8" in the closed position) The eye piece and the adjustment screws move just fine. They may just need to be oiled if that is possible. The nose piece also moves just fine and clicks the objectives in place. It is missing the slide clips and we believe the substage condenser is missing. It does have some paint loss and scratching from use. The mirror doesn't have cracks and only seems to have some very small spots on it on one side. It does appear to work when we look through the eye piece, but we have not tested it with a slide or object. We do not know as much as we would like about this piece so please ask questions if you have any. See pictures for condition since all individuals have their own opinion. Vintage Bausch & Lomb Brass & Cast School Microscope... Patent 1897
This listing is for a vintage Bausch& Lomb brass and cast school microscope. The patent date is Feb. 16. 1897. This piece came out of an old school that has been torn down. There are 3 lenses. there is a 16mm- 0.26 lens. a 4mm-0.65. and the top lens is a#10. There are 5 glass slides and several glass slide covers in the drawer of the case. The microscope measures about 13 1/4" fully extended. There are spots on the brass finish. There are scuffs and scratches from use over the years. There is a chip in the glass on the#10 lens. The lenses need cleaned. I did not attempt to clean the microscope parts.I will leave that to the experts. This is a nice collectible piece. Thanks for looking!

It does seem like parts maybe missing. The stand seems backwards, but maybe turns around. One lens says16mm the other 10x. Serial number is faint but seems to read 66734 which I believe places the date of this scope to about 1907. The Use and Care of the Microscope. Copyright 1932 by Edward Bausch. Reprinted January 1944. 32 pages plus covers. Size is 6.25 inches by 9.25 inches. A nice and informative booklet. My parents were both scientists and this came out of their library. They had equipment like this and am sure it was read by them. The booklet has light creasing on the interior pages just inside the spine suggesting that it was pushed flat to hold open during reading. Overall very nice shape.

Approximately 11 in. tall when turned all the way down. 4-1/4 in. wide, and 5-3/4 in. deep. Very Good condition, light wear, see also pictures. There are no breaks, chips, or cracks. Wooden case has some wear, and a crack in back. This microscope is marked Bausch + Lomb on the base. The serial number is 22885. It has a mirror for lighting. And the part that swings out(below the object stage) also has a light blue glass piece that one can move in or out of the path of light. It has a revolving turret for 3 lenses and comes with four different B+L objective lenses, each one in its matching brass container. They are marked: 1/12, 1/6, 2/3, ... moreand 8mm. There also are 3 eyepiece lenses, one marked B+L 12.5, the other faintly on the side B+L 1 in. the other has marks but they are too faint to make out, perhaps B+L 2 in. Also there is a copper? metal container with an old glass bottle for immersion oil inside. The wooden case comes with a key and the lock works. A small drawer is located at the top of the case. This was a working microscope back in the day and was used as you can tell. All the main parts seem to work fine, but it will need a good cleaning etc. What a great old piece! Wow! This is a Bausch and Lomb Dissecting Microscope. From what I could research. This version was a revision with the bottom holding base as an addition around 1907. It is a Barnes style, popular with students. It comes with the stage clips and tray, lens holder, and mirror and tray. It also has three lenses. Lenses are marked: Bausch and Lomb Optical Co 1 inch, Bausch and Lomb Co. Aplanatic Triplet 1 inch, 1/2 inch. It appears to be missing the glass stage plate and black/white metal plate. Bausch and Lomb continental microscope circa 1903. This has a fully adjustable slide manipulator. There is wear to the plating on the manipulator. There is an adjustment knob broken off the the side on the manipulator. It is present though. The large dial on top of the main shaft is loose and not connected to anything. It currently does not adjust anything. The lever to tilt the microscope is stuck. I did not want to force it and risk breaking the handle. All other knobs and adjustments appear to be working. This has three eye pieces; 7.5. 1 and 2. There are three objectives; 2/3. 1/6 and 1/12. All three have brass storage containers. The mirror is plano and concave. The box is locked and the latch has been pulled out of the door. The only damage is the screw holes are stripped. There are many photos. This auction is for a well preserved Bausch& Lomb brass and black painted iron microscope. It has a few small marks and imperfections. But it is in generally shiny and new condition. It has the choice of two objectives and two different eyepieces. There is a blue glass piece and an extra set of slide holders. They come in a fitted box with a small plastic cover for the microscope. On the microscope you will find the 1.9mm. Oil Imm 1/12 1.32 16mm, and 4mm 0.65 objectives and 10 eyepiece. In the box, there is a 16mm 0.25 objective in the storage tube, 4mm and 1.9mm storage tubes for objectives, a 2 eyepiece taht seems too large for this microscope, a 5 eyepiece and an extra 10 eyepiece. The condition is excellent. With a tiny bit of paint chipping and oxidation here and there. All parts move smoothly and the knobs and aperture work as they should. An old Bausch& Lomb Microscope. It is made of Brass& Iron. It is 11 1/2" tall. It weighs 7 pounds. The appearance of the microscope is very good. The brass column does not raise up and down when the side wheels are turned. The left side turning knob is bent. It has been stored for many years. Here's really nice BAUSCH& LOMB Antique Microscope that has its Original Wood Case. I don't collect microscopes. But mainly collect and sell radios. I bought this at a Radio Swap in Michigan about 6 years ago, because of its excellent condition and impressive look. I can tell you what I know. Engraved on one of the feet is Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Rochester, N.Y. On the base at the top rear is stamped 36832. The base appears to be Solid Brass with some kind of Bone or Ivory Locking Adjustment Arm/Handle. It has 3 Objective Lens, which are marked(1) 1mm, 1/12, 1.32 N.A. 160.0mm Tube Length, 2) 2/3, 0.24 N.A. 160.0mm Tube Length, and(3) 4mm, 0.65, 43x, 2/3. The Microscope is stamped Pat. Feb. 16. 1897. There 2 Eye Pieces which are marked 1. The Objective Lens have Storage Containers, with the size stamped on top, and seem to ... morematch the lens. Everything appears to be in good shape and operates and moves smoothly. Case appears to be Mahogany, locks and has the Key. I don't know a lot, but will try to answer any questions you may have. 1890's- 1900's era Bausch and lomb brass microscope lens. Probobly came off a Brass Continental but i am not sure. This could be a very rare piece. But i do not know much about it. Its in great working condition! Good Luck bidding!

1927 ANTIQUE BAUSCH & LOMB STEREOSCOPIC DISSECTIING WIDE FIELD MICROSCOPE
Serial number 196858 which indicates the microscope was manufactured in 1927. This is a general purpose. Microscope used for three-dimensional viewing in biology(sometimes referred to as a dissecting scope) assembly and inspection in industry, etc. This type of binocular microscope was first designed by Greenough in 1897, and was first manufactured by Zeiss. It consists of two independent microscopes with erecting prism systems focused on the same object from slightly different angles to give an exaggerated stereoscopic view. Because of the inclinations of the optical axis of the two microscopes from the vertical, only the center of the field is in focus for both, however, the composite image appears sharp over the entire field due to the opposite nature of the focusing errors, the accommodation of the eye, and the great depth of view of ... morethe low power objectives.Coin not included.
