These were my Dad's and I really don't ... moreneed them or use them. He used them to look at really small rock samples I believe for prospecting. What the two accessories for it do. I don't know or if they work properly or not. They appear to be in good shape and offhand, look like some kind of adapters so two people can look at the same thing at the same time, but I haven't tried them. They look to be in pretty good shape as the pictures show. I'm sure somebody out there knows what they are. They are in seperate boxes marked Spencer, Buffalo NY. The one that has 90 degree angled eyepeices has a 6x and a 10x eyepeice and the eyepiece on the long tube can rotate around. It's in the black box and that's nice. The brown box is a bit rougher and it has one that is at an angle and has two 6x eyepeices. The microscope has Ernst Leitz Wetzlar on it and is marked No. 291286. I don't know if that's a model number or a serial number. It has a 10x eyepiece and two magnifying lenses. Once is a number 3 and the other is a 6L. I don't know what the numbers mean. You can look through it and see light via the mirror so I believe it will work. The mirror can be moved around and there is an iris mechanism above the mirror that works via an arm. Both the knob sets turn smoothly. It's been used as it has some scratches and paint loss here and there and some light corrosion on various parts as you can see in the photos. But overall I don' think it's in too bad a shape. I know he rarely took it out and kept it put away almost all the time. I don't know how old it is. That's about all I can say about it. Then Turn the microscope towards the light and hold it CLOSE in front of the eye. Regulating the milled upper part until the proper focus is secured. Together with the apparatus there are supplied to prepared slides and two smooth glass plates and two ground glass plates with cavity. Employ these latter for examinations of solids and liquids. When examining liquids pack the smooth and ground glass plates by rubbing a little oil on them. THE MICROSCOPE MAGNIFIES ABOUT 50 TIMES LINEARLY* Tested. Able to view slides quite well. This is a nice. Yet incomplete example of one of Constant Verick’s microscopes from the late 1800’s, serial number 3434. C. Verick advertised himself as a élève spécial de E. Hartnack(special pupil of E. Hartnack) both in the signatures he used for some of his instruments and in his catalogs. By the mid 1870's he established his own firm where a number of different microscope models were produced, among which is the continental style model presented herein. In 1882, he was succeeded by his son-in-law Maurice Stiassnie. The base of this microscope is inscribed with“ C. Verick. Élève spécial de E. Offered for auction is this set of two antique microscope lenses. One lens is marked"3" and one lens is marked"5" both very small around the rim of the optic. Optics work well and they come with two turned brass cylinder holders. One piece though is slightly too small to be screwed into the cap. The cylinders are marked'1" and"H 800" though I do not think they are original matches to the lenses. Each cylinder measures 2.25 inches tall and 1.25 inches in diameter. Each lens has a screw thread diameter of approx 3/4 inches. Nice shape overall- some patina. Scratching etc to surface with age. I accept PayPal. The Case has a hole in the front(from what I do not know) and also there is no key for the lock. There is some other marks in the wood on the case. A quite old clinometer or inclinometer from England by J.H. Steward. Which opened in mid 1800's I guess. It is by no means new. But the bubble is not broken. The dial moves and is not broken. This is a Bausch and Lomb microscope made in the late 1880's to early 1900's. It looks like it was painted black over solid brass. Serial number is 29920. It only has 2 lenses. Movement is free and easy. The wooden box says E. Leitz Wetzlar. New-York=Chicago. The number 99893 is stamped on the top of the box door. The base stampings are: 29920 Bausch and Lomb Optical Co. New York. Rochester N. Y. Chicago A. S. Aloe Co. St Louis Mo. It has a Maryland sticker on one side of the box. What you see in the photos is what I have. It looks like a few of the original parts that came in the box are missing. It has some scratches in the paint. The lock mechanism is missing and has no key. Up for sale is a very nice antique Reichert Austria microscope. Carl Reichert married into the Leitz family in 1874 and began manufacturing microscopes in Vienna(Austria) two years later. This and the fact that he had some of the Leitz technicians working for him explains why his instruments are so similar in design to those of Leitz. The firm was known for high quality instruments well into the 20th century when it was eventually bought out by American Optical in 1962* Background history from NJhouseholdgoods Auctions) This antique Reichert Microscope is numbered 104355 and dates approx. 1900. It has a black lacquered iron horseshoe base and. The Tube is also black lacquered and has only a single occular lens numbered 1. This rare antique is an adjustable brass stand that can hold a 1.25-inch equilateral glass prism. Unfortunately the glass prism is missing. The prism mount can be rotated to optimize its placement with respect to the light source. The height of the stand can also be adjusted from 12 to 17 inches. The stem is 5/8 inch in diameter and the base 4.25 inches. The arm of the mount is s tamped: J. DUBOSCQ/ à/ PARIS" According to the Harvard physics apparatus collection. This stand was made in about 1875 by Louis Jules Duboscq, a famous instrument maker in Paris.

VINTAGE BAROMETER/THERMOMETER ANTIQUE MID 20TH CENT. WOOD INLAY, SHORT & MASON
You are viewing a very impressive barometer/thermometer in an inlaid wood case designed for wall mounting. The barometer dial reads" Short& Mason London. Made in England" It also says in italics that it is" Compensated for Temperature" My guess is that it was manufactured in mid 20th century. Making it about 60-75 years old.The pictures were quickly taken last summer when I was looking through my storage area and found this beauty. They are a bit overexposed and the item looks better than the pictures show, the wood color is a sightly darker and richer. It is a bit dusty and I think it would clean up nicely. I have not done any cleanup or waxing of the wood. prefer to leave this to the new owner's personal methods.The glass lens in the closeup picture shows some dirt and smearing and I was worried that the barometer ... moredial plate might be stained or deteriorated so I did however carefully clean(outside only)the glass lens with a window/glass cleaner, and it looks great. Regarding overall condition: The only issues are some light bubbling of the original varnish from storage and some tarnish on the thermometer metal plate. There are no losses to the wood inlay. A dusting and some paste wax should do it. Both the barometer and thermometer seem to work and the readings are realistic. I have not touched the calibration adjustment features on the back. Overall I think this would be a great addition to one's home, office, or collection for that matter. Also please not that this offer is only for the barometer and the stand supporting it are not on offer and used as support props only during photography. This was originally incorrectly listed as a Gruby-Type Microscope. Another eBayer kindly informed me it is more consistent with the Casella-Design. Unsigned/ No Markings. A lovely. Warm display antique microscope. Adjustment knob of scope functions smoothly between the highest and lowest settings. Box has been repaired. And is missing some pieces(most notably, a section of the bottom) Objective unscrews into multiple components. Which are a bit tight. Includes components pictured(microscope. Case, a smaller pocket microscope, magnifying glass and brass trimmed glass plate. Have had this on display on my bookshelf for over a year. And enjoyed it very much. Offered is an antique 1890's Bausch and Lomb brass and cast iron microscope. Serial number 24286 dates microscope to 1896. Unit is complete and includes compound eyepiece. Two objective lens with cases, original slide clips, and a six position aperture selector. Mirror unit spins and unit rotates for maximum adjustment. A antique 1800s brass Gem field Microscope specimen dichroscope prospect instrument. Containing a prism designed to view transparent Gem material. Thin instrument has a wonderful original lacquered brass finish in excellent condition. Clean clear glass lens. No cracks, chips or scratches. No dents, cracks, nicks or wear to the brass. Antique Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Microscope, 1912
Very nice. Antique example of this fine piece of medical equipment. Found at a local estate sale, complete with original carrying case, working lock, and the key. Metal plaque at top of carrying box says. Ernst Leitz, Berlin Mikroscope& Laboratoriumsbedarf, N. W. 6 Luisen-Str.45. I've not attempted to clean the brass. Glass or any of the parts. All appear intact, with no breaks or cracks visible. This microscope saw considerable work, it seems, perhaps most evident by the character marks on the box(also, a fleck or two of paint picked up along the way) The family from whom this was bought claimed it was used by their uncle, a doctor who had immigrated from Germany; this was his personal property. Note: According to the serial number. No. 154034, this device was manufactured in 1912. The same number is stamped into the top edge of ... morethe box lid(see photos) apparently making this the original box, too. There are various accessories. Although not really a full complement: an extra eyepiece( brass and plastic cylindrical containers, small bottle of immersion oil, cedarwood oil, a few microscopic cover glass circles, two old vials of blue and red litmus paper, and cardboard glass slide holders(only a couple of glass slides, though) All fit snugly in the intact box. Early Antique Bausch & Lomb Universal Brass Microscope W/ Case and Accessories
This auction is for an amazing early Bausch& Lomb Universal brass microscope with original mahogany case. Additional lenses and accessories. This has the earlier one line patent on the side. There is an original B& L cardboard card for magnifying combinations that identify this as microscope number 3316. The scope is in great condition with no dents or scratches. The varnish is crazed in some areas. There are spots of tarnish as well. I will not clean the microscope. I will let the winning bidder decide on the finish. Everything moves easily with precision. It has four Carl Zeiss Jena eyepieces(1. 2, 3, and 6(Compens Ocular) and an adapter for them. The six needs to have the bottom lens reinserted. It looks like the retaining ring was bent. The lens has no issues. It also has five B& L eyepieces(two bases are labeled A and two ... moreare labeled C, and one labeled D but the lenses are etched A, 1, D, and unetched) There is a C base with no upper that is different from the other four. There are four objective lenses(3/4, 1/5, 1/6, and 4/10) with brass cases. There is a B& L rotating"shutter" piece(pic. 8) that when rotated closed metal shutter in the small hole. A brass adapter for an eyepiece? A dual stage adapter for the objectives. Also included is a rare example of a James L. Pease quick change adapter(patented feb. 13 1883) pic. 9) The B& L light condenser is in its original box with additional eyepiece marked 1. It is in excellent working condition. The hinge has separated from the box though. Inside the drawer is some additional equipment with a cool ivory container. Brushes, needles, objective rings some additional tools. It also has a great article from an 1870's or 1880's newspaper that describes a"sociable series" in which microscopes were the item of discussion and use.
