The stand is made of metal. The lens tube has a built-in eyepiece 8x. Additional lenses can be attached at the bottom disc. Up to three at a time. The focus and position of the lens tube is adjusted with two sets of disc levers. The original mirror at the bottom is present. The light from the mirror is adjusted with another lever at the side. Serial number of the microscope is: 267231. There is wearing on the black coating and some rust layering at the bottom of the metal stand. The levers turn smoothly. There are no broken parts or elements. The mirror has minor wearing. No cracks, nor dents. It is a very beautiful. Vintage Leitz Wetzlar brass microscope for interior decorations. I bought this at a Radio Swap in Michigan about 6 years ago, because of its excellent condition and impressive look. I can tell you what I know. Engraved on one of the feet is Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Rochester, N.Y. On the base at the top rear is stamped 36832. The base appears to be Solid Brass with some kind of Bone or Ivory Locking Adjustment Arm/Handle. It has 3 Objective Lens, which are marked(1) 1mm, 1/12, 1.32 N.A. 160.0mm Tube Length, 2) 2/3, 0.24 N.A. 160.0mm Tube Length, and(3) 4mm, 0.65, 43x, 2/3. The Microscope is stamped Pat. Feb. 16. 1897. Up for sale is this gorgeous 1912 E Leitz Wetzlar brass microscope and original box. The box has the same serial number as the microscope. Which begins with 156 giving it a 1912 manufacturing date. The Microscope is in nice condition but has not been restored. It has patina and fading on the brass and chipping to the black paint on the base. It includes 2 occulars, a 0 and a number 4. There is a single objective attached to the microscope. The box looks antique and weathered. It does not have a key and may be missing some pieces from inside. This auction is for an antique. 19th century brass, field microscope with its original wooden box. Also included is a pair of tweezers, 2 blank slides wrapped in original paper and 3 specimens. The box closes with two brass catches on the front. The microscope measures 6 inches high and 1.9 inches wide. The brass surface and mirror have some corrosion. I have not tried to clean it. The mirror is missing one of it's screws. The inside box pieces need to be glued. The lenses look good. Could use some tender loving care. A great restoration project! This is an Antique 1800s R& J Beck Brass Microscope with its original Case& Accessories. This microscope has never been shined up so there is a lot of surface wear that has not been altered. There is also a part that goes where you look at your speciman that has a circular glass lens that is cracked. The case is very well constructed and has the original key. Even the tweezers have somehow stayed with this scope. The number 8918 is on the edge of one of the feet. The company started using the name A. S. Aloe& Company in 1885 but I have no way of knowing when the microscope was actually made. It appears to be turn of the century and all brass as far as I can tell. The microscope and two of the lens cases are imprinted A. S. ALOE- CO ST. LOUIS. But there is no serial number. This is for a Vintage Antique Bausch + Lomb Brass Microscope Serial#27607. Approximately 12 in. tall when turned all the way down. 4-1/4 in. wide, and 5-3/4 in. deep. Good condition, light wear, see Pics. This microscope is marked Bausch + Lomb Optical Co. Rochester NY on the base. The serial number is 27607. It has a Dual sided mirror one magnified.It has a revolving turret for 3 lenses and They are marked: 1/12, 1/6, 2/3. three lens objective, rectangular stage& condenser. All the main parts seem to work fine, but it will need a good cleaning etc. DEFECTS: The eye piece has a cracked lense, it is missing the 2 clamps that hold the slides in place. It appears to be in good working condition, and all knobs and gears move freely. The cabinet is walnut(or mahogany? and is tagged with a Broadhurst Clarkson& Co logo(also from London) The cabinet is probably not original but nicely fits the C Baker microscope. As shown in the photos, the cabinet has a holder for the brass objective cases. The handle for the cabinet has likely been replaced, as indicated by a different set of screw holes(see photos) and the bottom struts have come unglued. There is no key for the cabinet lock. Here are two antique brass Bausch& Lomb optical lenses. We have no idea what these are used for but thought a microscope or camera. Hopefully you will know! The larger one stands 5 1/8" high and is a tad over 2 1/2" around the largest area. It is marked with"Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. 518011" The smaller one stands 4" high and is about 2" across the widest area. It is marked with"Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. 480236" They both are in need or parts or repair and a good polishing. Both are missing lenses at the bottom end or at least some other piece. The larger one adusts upwards but you have to push it back down by hand. There is green showing through and/or wear to the black finish/paint portion at the top. The smaller one. You cannot adjust, the pin to the wheel seems to ... morebe frozen but you can manually pull it downwards. There is also some black paint/finish wear plus there is what looks like solder at that bottom rim. We are selling these the way we received them. Unfortunately we do not know much about them but hopefully you can see their condition with the photos. The larger one seems to be in very good condition while the smaller one needs more work!

Brass Microscope Marked#232 ~ Tolles Boston Goes from 14" tall to 17" tall Comes in original wood box 9 1/2" x 7" x 15" tall( box does have some cracks on bottom and wood has small split on front) Looks like it had a lock on front but no key. Hinges are not screwed to box. Needs screws. Has 2 extra lenses(one marked 1/4" and glass slides Inside mirror is broken but glass around it is not* I revised a couple pictures because I cleaned the front where it is marked Tolles Boston. I cleaned with soap and water. Left the rest for the professionals to clean. Total weight is 15lbs. Just microscope weighs about 7 1/2 lbs. I am not an expert on microscopes. Charles Stodder, who had been the distributor of Tolles microscopes and telescopes since 1860, and formerly a partner in the Boston Optical Works, continued to sell Tolles products after the dissolution of the partnership. After Tolles died in 1883. The business was carried on by Charles X. ANTIQUE FIELD MICROSCOPE This auction is for an antique brass field microscope. The microscope as you see in my photos is in a wood box with two extra(3 total) cylinder screw lenses. And a glass slide. The three lenses are numbered 1, 2 and 3. Size: The box is 6 1/2" long by 2 1/4" tall and 2 3/4 inches wide. The microscope is 5 3/4 inches long in it's retracted position. Age: The microscope is circa late 1800's. Condition: The microscope is in very good working condition. Lens are clear with no broken or cloudy glass, the mirror has some age spots but still functions well, brass has original lacquer, there are some scratches and wear, it could be polished if desired, and the bottom of the base has a name scratched into the metal, looks like"Bill" see last photo) The slide has a chip to the edge. This is a very solid microscope weighing in at a hefty 10 pounds. This was always kept as a display piece on my father-in-laws mantel. I'm not sure of the functionality as a working microscope.I imagine all the lenses would need to be cleaned up/polished if you were going to actually use it. I do know all the knobs and such rotate nice and smooth. There is some mild surface corrosion here and there on the brass.also the paint is somewhat peeled off the base/feet. From a local estate this is an antique Lacquered Brass Student Microscope. It does not appear to have ever been used. Comes in a Wood case the only mark I see on the scope is the word"TESTRITE" across the top brass piece It measures about 7 inches tall depending on the adjusting eye piece. The black lacquer on the base is also in very fine condition. The box is wood and has 2 latches on the front to hold the box closed and they are missing. Very nice old scope in exceptional condition. 1800's - Attractive Antique Brass Microscope Gould Type - Unsigned / Incomplete
Attractive antique brass field microscope with wood box. I believe it is in the style of Gould. Unmarked. I estimate this to be from the mid to late 1800’s. Please review the photos for a better sense of the condition; happy to send additional pictures. It is incomplete. But still includes a lot of the major pieces to make it for a very nice presentation piece; not sure what would have been originally included, but it is certainly missing the reflecting mirror and there appears to have been some kind of additional attachment to the stage. There is some loss of lacquer on the brass. But still shows nicely. Gears slides up and down fairly well with some slight looseness(teeth are intact) Box is in good condition with a good antique glow. But some of the inside dividers have come off and there appears to be some minor gluing at some point. Please ... moredo not hesitate to ask questions. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE HE Offered for auction is a nice botanical pocket single microscope ca. 1820. This microscope consists of a tubular stem. Which screws firmly into the lid of the case wherein the instrument is packed when not in use. The three lenses supply a range of magnifications from about five to forty times. No mirror is attached and focusing was made simply by sliding the stage holder over the stem. Later models. Probably of the ~1830-40s, were equipped with mirrors. This instrument is adapted for the examination of botanical specimens, small insects or their parts, mineral crystals, pond life, or for the preparation of samples and for dissection. It is a simple version based on the Cuff and Ellis design of the“Botanical” or“Aquatic” microscopes and on the Gould type simple and compound microscope. Condition ... moreis good as seen in the photos. The case lid has a crack which can be seen in the photos. It doesn't effect the visual beauty or the functionality of the instrument.
