Antique Arrow Copper Brass Barn Top Weather Vane Lightning Rod Old
Awesome early copper/brass Weathervane. In as found condition. The letters and their cross pieces are I believe brass or bronze as they are heavy. The arrow im pretty sure is all copper due to its discoloration. One side of the"feathers" on the arrow could use resoldered to the shaft. The top copper tube has solder on it as if it has had some kind of animal or figure soldered to it at one time. Measures 45 inches tall. Great yard art. Roof topper or just for your collection. Included is the original brass bushing(the screw backs out just enough to slip over a pole) The screw that holds the missing piece of glass is brass and I could not loosen it with damage but. You can just bend the tab to insert new glass. 23" long by 4 1/2" by tail. The bushing is about 7/8' inside diameter and the hole in the cast iron is about 1" in diameter. Nice. Copper/Brass pieces for a lightning rod arrow. Lock collar and insert. Screw are missing on the collars with the inserts. One is broken off inside. The 3 short lock collars have the screws intact, I have not tried to remove the screws. The longest insert is right at 1 7/8" long. Two of the tubes are about 3/4" outside. Another one is about 7/8" and one is 3/4" those two are a little distorted one the ends. No reserve. Read particulars. Iam pleased to offer this early 1800s cast iron lightning rod directional arrow that came from a barn in one of my picks this summer. It measures 14 1/2" long and 2 1/4" at the widest point on the arrow. It is weathered beautifully for age and has many little dimples from many years of service and has no breaks. Repairs, worn through spots. Very even aged. Nice look and interesting design work. See all pictures. Here is a vintage cast aluminum weather vane top featuring a crowing rooster standing on an arrow. The arrow is about 22 inches long; the whole thing is about 11 inches high; the rooster is about 6 by 7 inches. The hole in the bottom where this originally slid onto the stand is 5/16 of an inch across. This was probably originally black. But is now a mottled gray. I think it's pretty, but of course it could be painted to suit.

Cast Aluminum, Black, Prancing Horse on Arrow Weather Vane Directional
Here is an Aluminum. Prancing Horse, Weather Vane directional piece. This would be the top piece that would swivel around with the wind to show what direction the wind is blowing. It is 17&1/2" long, 9" tall, and 3/4" wide. It weighs 1 lb. 3 oz. I am listing this as aluminum but I am not positive what kind of metal it is. A magnet does not stick to it. The metal is not damaged in any way. The hole to set down on a spindle is 3/8" wide. There is a reducer inside this hole that takes the opening down to 1/8" wide. The reducer probably can be removed if you need the full width of this hole. I have no idea of its age. I have had it for over 15 years.This could be used for indoor decorating too. The solid cast iron casting is in very good condition with the horse broken off. Possibly from wind? The cast iron has great texture and orange color from its years on top of a house or barn. The copper pipe that supports the horse is starting to split from ice and rain. See photo’s. You may want to replace that part when your add a tail.
