Antique Cobalt Blue lightning rod ball
I took this off my farmhouse roof when I put a metal roof on. The farmhouse is early 1900's vintage.not sure how old the ball is! 4 1/2 inch diameter. It has a chip out of the top that should be covered when the cap is installed(not included)

Antique Purple Glass Lightning Rod Ball / Moon and Star / Goshen Co.
Being offered is one antique glass lightning rod ball made by the Goshen Lightning Rod Company dating back to the early 1900's. It is amethyst in color with a moon and star pattern and measures approximately 4 1/4 inches across and 5 inches end to end from the collars(openings measure 7/8" inside diameter) There is some light chipping and rough edges on the collars which is quite common on antique lightning balls. Black scorching is visible but overall in great condition for its age. Amethyst in the moon and star pattern is hard to come by. Here is an opportunity to acquire one. This is an old original blue pleated lightning rod ball. It is in very good condition. There are no cracks or breaks. There is chipping to the collar ends which is very common with these old balls. The collar ends are shown in the pics. It has a nice shiny finish to the glass and is a nice bright blue. It measures 4 1/2" across at the widest point. It will be well packed and fully insured. Antique Vintage Lightning Rod Weathervane Arrow White Milk Glass Ribbed Ball
Antique or Vintage. Kind of hard to date these, Lightning Rod/Weathervane. As you can see it has had it's years of use, the arrow does not rotate freely and will need a little work if you are intending to use this item, if not its a great piece of American art form from the past. Also as shown in the pictures the pointed top does come off, and will be off for shipping. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so unless you have questions I'll just give dimensions. Up for auction is a nice Hawkeye Lightning Rod Ball. This is a very light blue color. Almst white but not quite. Please view photos carefully. There are a few chips on the base of the ball rim and the top but are in overall good condition. These are over 100 years old so usually they have a few chips around the rim. See photos. One of them is near pure white and it’s embossed National on the front. It has some damage to the top edge which is common on these pieces. The other has a purple tint that might just be from 100 years of sun exposure and it’s marked ELECTRA on the front. I am happy to offer such a lovely old copper lightning rod with some old blue paint still intact and its ten sided 5 1/2" high amethyst D&S ball.ALL MARKED. SEE PICS. Besides the D& S being in the top, on the bottom it says, Patten Pending" There are no cracks or breaks in the ball and even the metal rings are on the rod. The rod measures, as you see it unextended 40" but EXTENDS TO 46 inches. No pieces missing. There is a slight dent in a little part of the rod near the top halt, nothing that takes away aesthetically or structurally.but I got to mention it on eBay. Also the glass ball is dirty. It can be easily cleaned, I just did not have time. Besides ... morethat the glass ball has bubbles in it, that is the way it was make.it is old and since it is screwed into 3 wooden pieces, it makes a wonderful architectural statement in a home. Antique Franklin Twisted Lightning Rod Weathervane Silver Mercury Glass Ball
Great antique lightning rod weathervane with a silver mercury ball. This piece is in overall good antique condition. With a nice patina to it. Some signs of wear from usage and age, so please look closely at the pictures. The total height of the whole piece is 59" The finial measures 9 5/8" in total length, the exposed portion is 8 1/4" With the finial off, the rod itself is about 51" The twisted steel stand measures 39 3/4" high. The silver mercury ball measures 5 1/4" through the center hole, the inside of the opening is 1" and the outside of the brass cap is 1 3/8" The ball is approximately 5" wide. The copper rod is 49" long. I will detach this from the base and the globe will be shipped separately to keep everything safe. So it will be disassembled when you receive it. Antique Tall 60" Copper Lightning Rod with Milk White Electra Ball Globe
This is an old and very tall lightning rod with a very attractive milk white color globe with"Electra" printed on it in raised letters. The tall pointed rod has a point at the top and is non-magnetic. I believe it is copper. The frame work is magnetic. The frame extends out at the bottom with 3 feet measuring about 18" apart. The white globe is a bit unique having the word"Electra" printed on it. Each end of the globe has some rough edges or chips which is not unusual for these globes. It looks very good on the rod. These lightning rods and globes make very nice outdoor or yard decorations and would even be a very unusual and interesting indoor accent.

Antique Lightning Rod Ball D & S Patent Pending Blue Milk Glass 10 Sided Decagon
Measures about 5 inches tall and is about 3 1/2 inches in diameter at widest point and 1 1/4 inches in diameter at the openings. It appears that it is a blue colored milk glass type glass. It is embossed with a diamond with"D&S" inside of it. Also embossed with Patent Pending. You can see the openings are a bit rough. But it looks like a lot of that is from the manufacturing. The one opening is stained and has more chips in it. My guess is there was a metal cap/sleeve type thing there and it rusted. This is a very cool blue colored piece to ass to your collection! There is no reserve on this great looking antique lightning rod ball. We are pleased to offer this antique lightning rod ball in the“doorknob” shape. This shape is one of the harder ones to find. It is in the milk glass white. And is in excellent condition. There is some normal roughness on each end of the ball, but it can easily be covered with caps. There are no chips. Cracks or stains. We think this would be a welcome addition to anyone’s collection. The measurements are 4 ¼” high x 4” across the midline. The holes measure 7/8” at one end and ¾” at the other. Estate find! Nice old amethyst or sun purple lightning rod ball. It measures approximately 4-1/2 inches in diameter. See photos for condition/details. It shows age from years of use. There are the expected swirls and air bubbles in the glass. But no cracks or damage; just the expected nips around the collars and the inside can use a cleaning. This rare vintage clear red lightning rod ball is in very good condition. No chips or cracks. It came off of an old Ohio livestock barn that was built in 1910. The globe is 5 1/2 inches tall stem to stem. It has a 1 1/4 inch rod hole.The circumference is 14 inches. Antique lightning rod ball: 4 1/4 inches tall. Milk glass, open at each end(for lightning rod to pass through) glass at openings is sheared. I'm told that this style is called"door knob.
