Antique Vintage Pheasant Zinc Weathervane ~ Large. Full Bodied, All Original Up for auction is this very attractive antique/vintage weathervane of a pheasant. This is an early 20th century zinc weathervane I purchased about a decade ago from a collector in Birmingham. Michigan. It is a beautifully cast pheasant, full-bodied and made of solid zinc, with nice detailing, and a lovely surface patina. It has been professionally mounted onto a very heavy, custom-made, wrought iron weathervane stand. With the stand, this piece measures about 24" tall by 19 1/2" wide, and without the stand, it measures about 11" tall by 19 1/2" The stand itself is 9" by 5" by 13" tall. Pheasant's approximate measurements are 8"H x 23 1/2"L at highest and widest points. N.S,E,W directionals and pole appear to made of cast iron. Vintage cast iron Pheasant weathervane topper in very good condition. It measures 29" long and 13" tall and the arrow is 3/4" wide. Where is sits on a pole is a1/4" opening. It weighs about 3 pounds. Not sure how old it is. The pheasant is held on with 2 screws into the arrow I do not know much about weathervanes or weathervane tops, so please look at pictures and bid accordingly. Gorgeous Pheasant Weathervane Bird Mounted on Arrow Removable
This is a nice heavy metal or perhaps wrought iron weather vane showing a pheasant in color. All of this is an iron or metal material. It has the arrow which points to the wind direction. The overall dimension of this weather vane is about 23" by about 12" The pheasant measures about 13" long and about 8" high. Really a beautiful piece with just some slight paint discolorations. But could easily be touched up. No cracks or breaks in metal material. May look like it but metal is solid and sound. It is painted on both sides. Identical and the bird is attached to the arrow with regular screws that are inset into the base of the pheasant. The bottom has a hole that you can slip over a rod of some kind and the hole measures about 5/16" of an inch. Email with any questions you might have. Buyer pays actual shipping.

Antique Pheasant Weathervane, hand-painted.on Top huge chicken house(egg farm)
Antique Pheasant weather vane. Was on top of 4 unit apartment building I own. At one time building was a huge hen house, filled with the best egg laying chickens,or so I'm told.Building was converted into 4 unit apartments in 1955. About ten years ago I talked to a neighbor(he was about 80 then) he said he remembers that pheasant weather vane when it was a"chicken house" also said that a lot of weather vanes were chickens/roosters, but I guess the chickens didn't want their own kind, up there on the roof,then he laughed. Think its made out of aluminum& was hand painted, still see some of it. Hard to believe its that old, until you look at the metal screws, that's decades out in the weather. Please ask any question you have, the building was in upper montgomery county Pa, very near bucks county.
