ANTIQUE ORNATE IRON ARROW Measures 22.75" long. There are no breaks. Cracks, or repairs to this fancy old arrow. An eBay search shows me it looks just like a Kretzer but I don't see the name where it usually is. See my last photo. Don't know if they were ever unmarked or if it could wear down that much? We are not weathervane people. There is no glass. See photo 8.Should there be something there to hold the glass? We suspect so.Probably an easy fix for those accustomed to working with weathervanes.

This lightning rod is very old- all of the iron parts are rusty and the copper? finial has great green patina. A strong magnet does not stick to the finial. The twisted iron is one solid piece. Not wires twisted together. It measures 52 1/2" tall, has a 3 legged base, and the legs can probably be spread to make it stand on its own. ANTIQUE c.1900 CAST IRON and COPPER WEATHER VANE ARROW 28 1/2" LENGTH Great old cast iron weather vane directional arrow. Figural arrow has a center double loop where it can be placed on a lightening rod or pole. The opposing end of the arrow is thick copper and was made so an animal or figure could be mounted to it. The cast iron arrow and copper rod are riveted together in the center. This appears to be all original and is all very old but solid and free of cracks or damage. Some typical pitting in the cast iron as shown. The overall length is 28 1/2" With the arrow portion measuring about 16 inches long and the copper rod portion measuring about 12 1/2 inches long. Here we have for sale a very old original lightning rod. This old lightning rod I hate to part with indeed. I've never seen this old type small thread lightning rod this short. The looped footed stand is 24" tall. The copper wrapped right hand spiral rod is 40" tall. The rod has the small 7/16" thread. The tip is a twigg or sprangle style. All the tines are good and she's not bent up. This is a great lightning rod and this 1880's- 1890's stuff aint easy to get anymore that isn't deteriorated away. I have to add a balloon charge on these because of the length. Sorry but the P.O. just keeps dreaming up this crap.

This is a gorgeous and fully restored antique Kretzer twisted iron rod in a black wrought iron stand. The rod was blasted clean and all copper and brass hardware polished and lacquered including the magnificent brass bayonet point/ top that had the KRETZER name deeply imprinted. RESERVE PRICE $125 This rod includes one very good condition Amber colored lightning rod ball. The blue and red balls shown are not included but can be substituted for the Amber ball for a charge of $25 and $50 respectively. I believe the front half is cast iron. the back of it is made of thick twisted wire. It is at least 100 years old. I wouldn't be surprised if it dates back to the 1800's. It measures 23" long. From a local estate. Here is a beautiful old cast iron weather vane arrow, would have fit on the old rooftop lightning rod on a house or barn. Overall length is 18.5" about 4" top to bottom. I'm guessing this was refinished at some point. The black paint looks too shiny and was probably applied over a rusty original, and the glass panel doesn't look right, probably a replacement. VINTAGE WEATHERVANE LIGHTNING ROD ARROW primitive wrought or cast iron part
For your consideration is a vintage weathervane/ lightning rod arrow that I recently came across at a local estate auction. It measures 13 inches in length. It looks quite old and it looks like it may have been buried at some point. For some reason the end opposite the point is not nearly as pitted as the rest of the piece. It appears that it may be fragile so I wouldn't go trying to bend it. I have a good padded box to ship it in so that it arrives undamaged. Please inspect the photos and if you have any questions. I purchased this Lightning Rod Arrow with Amber Textured Glass Tail Insert at a farm estate sale here in rural WV. It is a cast metal probably cast iron and has ornate decorative work. The glass ball had been broken years before and the farmer had tied the ends for the glass ball onto the arrow so I left them. They are some sort of light metal and one has a bend but can be straightened. The arrow measures 20" and I see no damage other than some oxidation and light scraping.

Here we have for sale a very nice victorian era iron lightning rod. Lightning rod is made of twisted iron with brass fittings. Rod is 41" long with a nice big 10" brass bayonet. Rod has the bottom clamp. Bottom female fitting is stamped St. Louis L.R.Co. St. Louis. Mo. Stand is the standard style and measuers 24" tall. It is the insulated style with 2 white porcelain double collar style insulators. No damage to these. Real nice looking old lightning rod indeed. If the shipping seems high, it's the new balloon charge the P.O. likes to add. They say it has to do with the space it takes up on the air plane. sounds like b/s to me. 3- Old Victorian Era Iron & Aluminum Lightning Rod Weathervane Farm Hardware
Here we have a set of 3 lightning rods. These were recently salvaged from a barn that had collasped. Here's what you get 3- steel washer stands. These are 16" tall and have a odd size 3/4" rod openings. 3- 31" Aluminum twisted star rods. 2- have the bottom connectors. The other connector I couldn't find. The tip of the middle rod looks like it's been resharped some years ago? This is a guess tho, it may be made that way, can't really tell. You get all 3 for the money.

Magnificent iron standing candle holder measures 39 3/4 inches tall. From floor to tip of the prickett- pointed piece. This sculpture looks similar to some antique lightning rods. The top part is shaped like a flower. Complete with stamens. The feet extend 12 inches wide. At widest point. The top flower-shaped piece can be screwed off of the stand. The drip tray also comes off. As it's in between the flower-shaped piece and the lower rod. The piece has some type of gilt paint. Which is worn off in places. It's quite heavy. Here we have an old lightning rod. This was recently removed off a Southern Ky. barn. Stand is a noninsulated style. It is 21" tall and has all it's feet and the brass rod clips aren't broken. Rod is a 32" iron spiral style rod. The female fitting is stamped Improved Miller Quality. Rod has the 2- piece brass cable connector and a wide blade 9" bayonet. Rod and stand has some silver roof paint and the tip has nice bright green patina. Very nice old rod.
