I purchased ... moreit at an old suburban farm yard sale many years back. The steel cross arrow and James logo are flanked buy a full bodied zinc cow at the other end. The is 32-1/4 inches. It has a 5-1/2 inch, zinc, cone base-cover and a hollow zinc finial. The dark amber glass ball is 4-1/2 inches in diameter. It stands 33-1/2 inches tall. The black and gold painted surface must be at least 50-60 plus years old. The condition is very good. There is only see a slight dent in one side of the cow. The glass ball is in great shape as are the cone and finial. It doesn't appear to have any old repairs. It's held together with cotter pins to keep it lined-up. Please look at all the pictures and if you have any questions please ask. All my items are guaranteed to be as described and pictured. If your ever unsatisfied returns are not a problem. 3- Old Victorian Barn Copper Iron Lightning Rod Weathervane Farm Hardware
Here we have for sale 3 vintage original lightning rods. 2 are tall 5ft. and one is a shorty 2ft'er. Rods are 5/8" dia. copper tubes with great patina! One has a slip on shell tip and the other 2 have the tips formed on the tube. One stand is a twisted wire and the other 2 are washer style. All feet are intact. You're buying the group of 3. 1880's 1890's Victorian Barn Lightning Rod Weathervane Tip Point Farm Hardware
Here we have for sale a very old original lightning rod bayonet tip. The tip has the small 7/16" thread. The tip is a 10" brass bayonet. It has a nice looking bell style base. This style is attributed to Reyburn Hunter Co. and Smith- Hewitt as well as others. Has old black patina and maybe gold finish? Tip is in good shape. Not resharpened and she's not bent up. This is a great lightning rod tip and this 1880's- 1890's stuff aint easy to get anymore that isn't deteriorated away.

Old Rare Original MUNSON Lightning Rod Weathervane & Glass Ball Farm Hardware
Here we have for sale an old original glass lightning rod ball. You are buying the ball on the left only. These are very rare Munson Lightning Rod Co. glass balls. The right ball is complete. With glass threaded tube and zinc threaded caps. The ball on the left is the same but doesn't have the tube or the caps. You can see in the pictures, the stained circle areas where the caps sat. These type balls have extra wide collar openings and little or no collars. This is intentional in manufacturing. The skirted cap screws down over the tube and rides against the shoulder of the ball. This type of glass ball was patented by Alvin J. Munson in 1887. Original zinc caps carry the name and patent date. These are rare balls and you don't find any parts much less complete balls much anymore. This ball was found here in South Central Ky. this ... morepast Thursday. It is 110% original, untouched, as found on a roof. No damage at all. All the staining is as mother nature put it. There was no caps or tube present. This is a rare piece and you won't be disappointed.

Old 1900's Original Franklin Lightning Rod Weathervane Farm Hardware Barn Find
Here we have for sale an old original lightning rod fresh from the loft of a Kentucky barn. Found this relic suspended from the rafters of a dilapidated barn here in South Central Ky. It has been dangling for quite some time as most of the green patina has tarnished with a rusty red finish. The tin roof was mostly ripped off and this was the only rod left. Rod is a 5' copper clad twisted style rod. Yes I know it doesn't look copper but it actually is. It's a copper plate over a steel rod, not a thin copper wrap. These were the most expensive rods on the market at the time but they didn't hold up well. The copper and iron didn't agree with each other. The copper plate is rust stained but if wire brushed will be bright copper except for were the iron has rusted thru the plating. The rod is still very solid with some minimal ... morepitting. The bottom fitting is stamped"Miller Quality" The bayonet is a 10" broad blade style stamped"Trade Franklin Mark" Stand is a 3' uninsulated style. All feet are intact as are the clips to hold the rod. Nice old lightning rod indeed!

Here we have a set of 3 lightning rods. These were recently salvaged from a barn that had collasped. Here's what you get 3- steel washer stands. These are 16" tall and have a odd size 3/4" rod openings. 3- 31" Aluminum twisted star rods. 2- have the bottom connectors. The other connector I couldn't find. The tip of the middle rod looks like it's been resharped some years ago? This is a guess tho, it may be made that way, can't really tell. You get all 3 for the money.

Old Victorian Era Iron & Brass Lightning Rod Weathervane Farm Hardware
Here we have an old lightning rod. This was recently removed off a Southern Ky. barn. Stand is a noninsulated style. It is 21" tall and has all it's feet and the brass rod clips aren't broken. Rod is a 32" iron spiral style rod. The female fitting is stamped Improved Miller Quality. Rod has the 2- piece brass cable connector and a wide blade 9" bayonet. Rod and stand has some silver roof paint and the tip has nice bright green patina. Very nice old rod.

4- Salvaged Aluminum Robbins L.P. Co. Lightning Rod Weathervane Farm Hardware
Here we have a group of 4 used but good saddle style lightning rods. These were removed from an old tumbled down house here in Southern Ky. recently. All 4 aluminum saddles are stamped"Robbins Lightning Maryville. Mo. The lightning rods each stand 18" tall. All the clamping fingers are intact. These are some what bent and out of shape. These are not old antique but they should be usable for repair or with some good aluminum cable, put a system on your building. You get all 4 saddle braces for the money.

RARE Antique MUNSON Glass Lightning Rod Ball Weathervane Farm Hardware
Here we have a lightning rod ball that you don't see for sale very often. This was found on a house here in Southern Ky. This is a very rare Munson sun colored amethyst purple lightning rod ball. The ball on the left is the one you're bidding on, the one on the right is for comparison ONLY. As you can see the ball I'm offering isn't complete with the caps or tube. However the ball part is in super uncleaned condition. This is exactly as I found it. Dirt and all. No cracks or bb damage. All Munson balls are rare, even an incomplete one.
