This old weather vane is 24 inches tall from the bottom of the roof mount to the top. The directional arrows are 17 inches long. There is lots of discoloring and it has never been cleaned so I don't know what the metal is. The rod from the roof mount to the ball and arrows is rusted. The ball looks like copper and has a dent in on sideand its 4.5 inches circumference. Very heavy and so shipping will depend on zip code but arrangements can be made to pick it up.

Bidding is for this rare vintage copper squirrel's tail which was part of a weather vane. I've been sitting on this item for 20 years looking for the rest of the squirrel but with no luck. The glass is missing however it can be replaced. The metal tabs to hold the glass are present. Although I couldn't find a maker's mark. I believe this was made by K retzer. The weathervane is in good condition and ready to be restored. Good project for someone who is enjoys restoring vintage items. Vintage Copper Lightning Rod Weather Vane with Glass Ball & Directional Arrow
For auction is a complete vintage copper lightning rod/weather vane similar to the one seen on a recent version of American Pickers. This one was one of two that graced an old barn in eastern Pennsylvania. It would make a great architectural display piece for your home. Right now. It is mounted on a board for display purposes but it will not be shipped with the board. You can supply your own and save shipping costs. The three legs and framework for the rod are iron and are rusted from years of being exposed to the elements. Just the rod is copper. The three legs were meant to be spread out and attached to the peak of the roof. The bottom of the rod has a copper loop through which ran copped cable to make any lightening strike go to ground. The glass ball was intended to explode if hit by lightening to indicate a strike. The pictures are representative ... moreof its brown light coffee color. There are no cracks in the glass but there are flakes on the upper and lower edges of the circular hole as can be seen in the 6th and 7th pictures. It appears that the more serious flakes resulted from the ball turning on the directional arrow. I suppuse there is some type of washer or gasket to prevent this type of damage. The arrow is 20 3/4" long. It is made from cas aluminum or white metal as it is not very heavy. The rod stands 65 3/4" tall and the entire peice shows good green copper patina.The ball will be shipped separate from the rod and arrow to prevent damage.

This vintage(50s? metal weathervane spent most of its life mounted to the roof of an auto parts store. The mounting piece has some roof tar stuck to it. It seems in good shape. It is sturdy and the directional arrow spins around. There are some places where the metal paint has been scraped off. The length of the arrow measures 33" The car measures 15.25" in length. We found it in an old general store outside of the old Camp San Louis Obispo training camp( which dates to the First World War; the training area was actually sold to the US Govt during WW1 by W.R Hearst of the Sf Chronicle newspaper) The old general store was being re-utilized as storage. And they were planning on tearing it down next month. We were able to retrieve this old weathervane with their permission. It is being sold as pictured. As it is shown. Neat old vintage weather vane. That must have seen quite a few doughboys go past during the First World War and the Second World War( CSLO was home to one of the old Army armored units that fought in the Philippines and was captured in Bataan in 1942) Shipping will be determined based on its destination.

Vintage Weather Vane Horse & Wagon Stagecoach with Directions Metal Antique
You are bidding on a vintage metal weathervane. It has a horse and wagon/stagecoach at the top and the directions in the middle. It is made of metal and is a weathered black/gray color. The top piece measures 21" long and 8" high. One side of the horse has a broken tip. As shown in one of the photos. The bottom section measures about 22" tall, with the directional about 13" across. The tip of the bottom section is a little bent, but I didn't want to risk bending it back. The top still fits on fine, but just at a slight angle. This is a good, guaranteed vintage, weather vane.

This is a vintage weathervane. Most likely heavy aluminum; as there is no sign of brownish rust anywhere except on the tip of the vertical support rod that goes up insidethe boat and vane.From tip of arrow to end, 18 inches. Ffon peak of roof to top of boat mast, about 21 1/2. Directional arms about 13 1/2 maximum. There are three screws, all original. All three turn so that you can make needed North and roof pitch adjustments. The boat says SPRITE and the Sail has a big 6 and 341 engraved in it. This would be a great addition to your beach house with the neat sailing ship. There was nothing on ebay to compare this with. If it interests you. Email me an offer to consider. Antique Vintage Rooster Weathervane No Reserve Free Ship Weather Vane
This weathervane came off my grandparents garage. All the parts are there just need bolts or screws for mounting. Up for auction is this beautiful antique rooster weathervane. It is NOT magnetic. Metal has been painted, and I believe it is either pot metal, stainless or copper but not certain. It weighs 2 lbs 11 oz, and stands 28" tall.
