I found this Large Cast Aluminum Horse at an estate sale. They didn't know where it came from other than it was their Parents. It looks like it was attached to a weathervane and broke off. I tried to find one like it online but I could not. It is 19 1/2 inches long by 8 1/2 inches high and weighs 1 5/8 pounds. The number stamped in the back looks like 100023. Vintage Antique? Tin Zinc Metal Horse Weathervane Folk Art ~11 1/4" X 10 1/2"
Purchased at an Estate Sale. I do not know much about this piece. I was told it is very old. But as I am not am antiques dealer I really don't know. Please review pictures to judge condition for yourself. I was told it is a tin zinc metal. Hollow piece.Two sided horse weathervane. Has horse hair tail. That looks to me to have been added at a later time, possibly because the original tail broke. There are some dents as shown. I noticed a crack on the front foot. Some seperation at seams as hown. I will be splitting these up after today if not sold. Here are 2 small Antique Hog Barn Cupola's. No bullet Holes in these. They do have some rusted through spots but not bad. One of the lighting rod globes has a hail stone hole. These are both 100% authentic. The hogs are missing from the weather vains. These measure 80" tall to the top of the lighting rod. The rods are copper. The Galvanized Cupola's show the petina that is normal for there age. These both have some handyman work that needs to be done to them. These were discovered in a box in a barn just outside of Louisville, Ky and were never mounted on a weather vane or lightning rod. ANTIQUE ELECTRA BLUE MILK GLASS LIGHTNING ROD BALL. It is 4 1/2 inches in diameter with 1 1/4 inch outside stem diameter. 7/8 inch inside stem hole. This is a very clean ball with one very tiny chip to one panel edge and chips on both stems that does go into the ball a little, but will mostly cover with collar(not included) Please realize that these have been on a barn roof for approx. 100 years or more. There may be tiny stem chips or light dirt film on inside. Anything else that would make this ball not work or look the way it should will be noted in description.
