I have for sale a great set of NSEW directionals for a lightning rod. The inside diameter of the center hole is approx. 3/4 inches. The NS arm is approx. 17 inches long by 3 inches high. The WE arm is approx. 17 inches long by 3 inches high. These have a great look and display well. Each arm has a set screw. Both screws were messed up so I replaced them with different brass screws. The point has weathered nicely over the years and what is left is a great verdigris green patina that will display well. This point was made from solid brass. Or bronze. There was some hunks of tar on the base and up the side of the point. The nickel was intact under the tar when I dissolved it with acetone. MASSIVE 32" Horse Weathervane/ Lightning rod Antique Vintage Copper Brass Horse measures approx. 31" x 17" and the whole piece measures approx. 33" long x 20" tall. It is being sold as found. It will need to be reattached to the pole. I do not know what the head is made from but it looks like brass(just not positive) and I do not know how old it is but it looks very old. View all of the photos and use zoom and enlarge. There are two small scratches on one side(see the last two photos) I wipes the item with a soft cloth and water to get off the dust. This is a 10 1/4 inch long lightning rod topper marked Kretzer St Louis. Manufactured around 1910. It is threaded and meant to be attached to the upper most tip of a lightning rod to attract the lightning away from the building. It has a green color and may have been painted long ago. I am also selling a wind direction arrow and a star burst rod topper.in separate auctions. and I do combine shipping.

This great looking star burst brass lightning rod topper has it's original patina. I could find no makers mark. But these are not seen anymore and I think it dates back to the late 1800's. The star tips are sharp and I just can tell it's very old. This is being sold in antique condition, as shown in the photos. Nothing is hidden. The star burst topper is 8 3/4 inches high and 4 3/8 inches wide at the star. This is a very decorative topper and I'm sure it was more expensive than the norm when originally sold.

Structure/Composition: Made of a non-ferrous metal with chrome plating. A magnet does NOT stick to the base or to the tines. Four tines are brass with chrome plating. All four(4) screw into the base. Has a screw for affixing to the top of a pole. Wear-and-Tear: In well-used condition. The chro me has a patina of city grime. But the scratches are very little. The age is late 1800's to early 1900's; ... morethe building it was removed from was built around the turn of the last century. The lock screw on the base is a flat-head slotted screw. Not Phillips. Yes. It is damaged(i.e. it is used, not new) but the damage is just wear-and-tear from being on a roof for decades. The chrome is nicked in places. A magnet does not stick to the four tips. But it does to the screw in the rod's base. The metal on the tips is scared from being screwed in and you can see a gold-colored metal(brass? underneath. There are many micro-scratches on the base and tips. Too many to be pointed out individually. This is a large new solid copper weathervane. It is very large. Just the star part alone is 34in long(the arrow) and 27 inches tall. Add the pole. Decrotive balls and direction it gets even taller over 40 inches! This is beleived to be made by Weathervanes of Maine a couple decades ago. It has always been in a box and never used outside. It has only been displayed indoors a short time. The star, directionals, and balls are all solid heavy copper with a painted on patina. Some small and minor areas you can see the bright copper through the paint. The rod and stand are solid iron. The pole that holds the weather vane is easily expandable to with another rod to make it even taller. This weathervane is compatiable with almost any weathervane stand. Here we have an old lightning rod. This was recently removed off a Southern Ky. barn. Stand is a noninsulated style. It is 21" tall and has all it's feet and the brass rod clips aren't broken. Rod is a 32" iron spiral style rod. The female fitting is stamped Improved Miller Quality. Rod has the 2- piece brass cable connector and a wide blade 9" bayonet. Rod and stand has some silver roof paint and the tip has nice bright green patina. Very nice old rod.

Spudnik style with 5 points. I believe it is either bronze or brass and has a great patina and original finish. Has a patent date but it is hard to read, I think it is 1912. Has a few bent points but if you made it to that age you would have some bent parts also. They stand about 9" tall and about 9 1/2" wide. These are becoming harder to get because they are bronze or brass and lots are being melted for scrap. Most of my items are preowned, vintage or antique so they will show age appropriate wear. ANTIQUE RARE 11 POINT BRASS STARBURST ELECTRA LIGHTNING ROD CROWN TOPPER FINIAL
Very nice and super rare Electra"E" brass lightning rod topper/finial. In the eleven point starburst. Crown point pattern. Measures 7 inches tall and 4 inches wide. With the original attached copper shaft it measures a total length of 10.5 inches. Condition: original aged green tint patina. also has what looks to be some of the original shiny silver nickel plating on the star. Could probably be polished nicely. Several of the tips have slight bends that are easily straightened. Otherwise no bends as seen in the pictures. Does have some pitting along"spear" part below starburst. Copper pipe does have small split where it connects to finial(note these are two pieces. Most do not have original crimped shaft) End of copper shaft is uneven. Brass Lightning rod Flaming Ball Finial. Large. It is roughly 13 x 8 x 8" and weighs 7 lbs 3.8oz. The diameter of the pipe fitting is 1.5" and it has 3 holes to run a screw threw( one of the holes has a broken screw in it i would think you could drill/tap it out) I found this at a local auction and was told that it was Lightning rod toper that came from New Orleans.
