Vintage Old and Original Horse Weathervane and Lightning Rod Ball, Neat and Nice
Neat Old and Original Circus Horse Weathervane and Blue Milk Glass Quilt Lightning Rod Ball. Weathervane is called a Circus Horse vane because it has a belly band around the horse's middle. Weathervane is hollow bodied and made in the 1915-20's. The horse is tim metal and the front arrow is old cast iron. Weathervane measures 33 inches long. Horse measures 14 inches long.10 inches tall and about 1 1/8 inches thick. This weathervane style was very popular way back then for the roofs of Barns and old Victorian Homes. Horse was large enough to be easily seen from some distance. This one fit over a 5/8 common lightning rod-the most common rod. The blue milk glass"quilt" ball measures 5 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall. It will fit over the common rod or the more fancy twisted star rod. Both items look great together. Vintage Rare Tall (65") Copper Lightning Rod w/ Stand
Vintage Rare tall lightning rod measuring approximately 65" Very hard to find rods of this height) Copper base. The tip seems more silver in color as the base has some of the green patina that copper gets from oxidation so I am not sure what this is made of. There is a tri-pod type stand with 2 rings where the base of the rod slips through(probably steel which has rusted) with holes in each end of the tri-pod for screwing into the top of the barn/house. The very tip of the arrow tip is very slightly bent and the rod itself seems to have a slight bend to it as well.

Antique or Vintage. Kind of hard to date these, Lightning Rod/Weathervane. As you can see it has had it's years of use, the arrow does not rotate freely and will need a little work if you are intending to use this item, if not its a great piece of American art form from the past. These are two copper lightning rods that where taken off of a old barn roof. They are in nice condition, no cracks, rods are straight and pointed and feel like they may be solid, but not sure, both have the plate to tighten the copper ground line to them, no cracks in mounting roof plates, may need to bend them to pitch of roof to be mounted on. 3 Vintage Glass Lightning Rod Insulators
These old insulators are 1 7/8 inches high and have a 1 inch hole inside and a 1 1/2 inch outside diameter. They look to be clear or kind of a light yellowish in color. 2 of them have the knob to hold them in the stand and one of them has it broken off. All 3 have some chipping but they will still work fine to hold the rod. You are buying all 3 for one money and there is no reserve.

One of them is near pure white and it’s embossed National on the front. It has some damage to the top edge which is common on these pieces. The other has a purple tint that might just be from 100 years of sun exposure and it’s marked ELECTRA on the front. ANTIQUE VINTAGE WHITE PORCELAIN GLASS LIGHTNING ROD GLOBE
We have for your viewing and bidding pleasure an antique lightning rod globe. It is made out of white porcelain glass. It is about 5” high by 5” wide. The globe is round in shape. It is in good condition with no breaks or cracks. Where the rod goes through on one end it is just a little slightly rough and on the other end it has a couple of flake chips. Normally when the globe is installed on the lightning rod there is a metal collar that goes around the holes where the lightning rod goes through. We do not have any of those. We do not know for sure but we believe they possibly could be found on the internet. From outside edge to outside edge these holes where the rod goes through measure 1 1/8” across. It is an original vintage company advertising salesman book brochure.that reads Government Security Lightning protection for war production and storage special equipment for the protection of arsenals magazines. Loading plants, ammunition dumps, aviation buildings, etc. Designed to meet U.S. Government requirements. It is in classic red white and blue with a great big V for victory in the center. It reads litho in the USA and I believe it to be from the WW II era. Has all sorts of different items laid out in the brochure ... morethat relate to lighting Rods and the rods themselves. It was put out by the Security Manufacturing and Contracting company in Burlington WI. It is in good shape has some staining and light wear mostly on the edges and three pin head size holes put there I believe to store it with other brochures. MASSIVE 32" Horse Weathervane/ Lightning rod Antique Vintage Copper Brass Horse measures approx. 31" x 17" and the whole piece measures approx. 33" long x 20" tall. It is being sold as found. It will need to be reattached to the pole. I do not know what the head is made from but it looks like brass(just not positive) and I do not know how old it is but it looks very old. View all of the photos and use zoom and enlarge. There are two small scratches on one side(see the last two photos) I wipes the item with a soft cloth and water to get off the dust. Hello. This auction contains one beautiful piece! This is a 100% authentic vintage W.C. Shinn MFG CO white milk glass lightning rod ball! Please see pictures, this is a super nice vintage piece! As you can see in the pictures it has W.C name across the middle of the ball. The lettering sticks out at you, very nice clean lettering! Pictures of every view! The top is perfect no breaks in the end. The grove for the cap is perfect! The bottom spout end is also very nice! no breaks, cracks and has perfect groves for the cap! The only spot on this piece is the very bottom spout piece there is a micro area of cleanable rust. Should be able to see in pictures! Not a big deal at all on this item! The end caps would cove that area anyhow. The whole ball is solid with no cracks or any problems! Coloring of the the white milk glass is very nice and just ... moreis as how it shouls be! But here's what I do know; They are 54" tall and are supported via a metal tripod system. Which I am not exactly sure how it works? They are bluish so I am assume the main pole is copper. The balls. One blue and one white appear to be like milk glass. The blue one has been used and has come chipping around both of its 1.25" lips. The white one has a pair of plastic fasteners attached and I notice some chipping on one end. This need cleaning. But otherwise I do not see any condition issues. About 5" long; softball size. Very Rare, Early Vintage 3.5" Ruby Glass Lightning Rod Ball, Embossed On Rim
This is a very rare 3.5" Ruby Glass Ball with fluted ribs. It looks to have the correct embossing on rim; it is faint. But you can make out"PAT JULY.77" This came out of my Grandparents Estate. He was an electrician and rod installer from roughly 1940-1980. This was packed up in his barn with other items. Also, I sold the another of this type ball awhile back to a collector and he confirmed it authenticity. So, with all that, I'm confident that this is an original and not a reproduction.
